I did takeout from here not long ago. I called in the order and it was ready before the promised time. The customer service here is truly one of its kind. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. You can tell he was really busy, made they sure that every customer left satisfied. He offered a couple of us that were waiting for our food, samples of their aguas frescas. They were all really tasty and would definitely recommend trying them, especially on a hot summer day. Although I really wanted to try to tacos, I don't like doing tacos for takeout because they get all soggy. We ordered Carne Asada Tortas. They were really delicious. Everything tasted fresh, the bread was soft, and the meat had great flavor. It unfortunately wasn't arrachera meat, they used regular taco meat instead, which is ok, but arrachera would have definitely made this already good tasting torta taste even better. They also had really good tasting salsas as well. Some were spicy some were ok, definitely worth trying all of them. I can definitely see myself returning to try their tacos. Will have to dine in for that.

YESSS...this spot is sooo good. Fresh juices and horchatas and incredible cuisine. Thoughtfully prepared with love and really fresh ingredients... even the rice and the beans are perfect. This is not your average ordinary, sloppy Mexican joint. Jose the owner is so kind and lets you sample the homemade beverages. No details overlooked and the results is an exceptional meal!

Wow. I am so impressed by this place. It's easily just become my favorite place to get Mexican food. We grabbed a pretty large takeout order on a Monday for lunch. It was ready quickly in 20 minutes, and came out piping hot and everything was delicious. I truly am so impressed by the flavor in each item. I don't know how to explain this - everything felt authentic, yet had an incredible twist. Even the salsas, for example, were all so unique and flavorful. My favorite was the shrimp taco, but truly everything we tried was delicious. You can clearly see the staff really cares about what they are doing here. I can't wait to get back here and try more.

Jose is the man! Received the kindest reception for my first time dining here. I had the vegetarian and gobernador- both were delicious. I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

For one of our last meals in the city before moving away from it, we decided to check out this new place that had opened down the street (well, far down the street but still). We had walked by it before when they were still setting up, but after seeing a few glowing reviews on Reddit we decided to stop by before going home to pack up.It was a quiet Monday night when we came in, so the owner gave us a full tour of the menu. We got to sample some agua frescas while he explained some of their most popular items and swiped through some pictures. I decided to go with three tacos:Pulpo (octopus) - the owner says this was the most popular choice, and it was nice to see an option you don't normally see in quick service Mexican spots. The octopus was cooked and seasoned well (nothing rubbery here)Cochinita pibil (pulled pork with pibil sauce and habanero pickled onions) - This was good, and I liked the slight sour from the onions, but I think I'm personally not a pulled pork fanGobernador (shrimp with onions, cheese, and peppers) - This was my favorite one, and surprisingly it was because of the jalapeno/poblano peppers in it. The slightly sweet shrimp with the rich cheese and the fresh bite of pepper just worked together really well.I also tried my wife's steak taco which I thought was excellent. It reminded me of my favorite steak taco from the Maxwell Street market that was just nicely seasoned and did not skimp on the meat. If I get a chance to come back I'll go for that.If we had more time in the city this could've easily entered the rotation, but I recommend any Lakeview or Roscoe resident to check it out

How lucky am I to stumble upon their soft opening for lunch after shopping next door at Wild Fork! Ya'll, run don't walk here. This is the type of place I have been longing for, esp. in this general area. The standard taquerias at least in the general Lakeview/Roscoe area just doesn't quite hit.First off, staff was super friendly and helpful. We sampled their frescas and these were yummy and refreshing! You can smell how good they are before even drinking. Also, while usually not a fan of hortchata, theirs was noticeably different and better - nuttier and not so sweet!Hubs still raving about their steak tacos. Birria ramen was very comforting and enjoyable. Loved all their chunky unique fresh salsas - super flavorful. Pictured is spiciest to mild (although the spicy imo is not very spicy and moreso smoky). Even their chips were top notch! I'm impressed with their menu options and will definitely be back as much as possible.

I walked in looking for a quick bite and as soon I did, the owner of the place started chatting me up and telling me ALLLLL about the menu. Clearly he's proud of the food and he lets you know it lol. I've been back several times since. I think what I love about this place the most is their array of really interesting salsas. I've never tasted anything like them before. I won't bother trying to spell them, all I can say is try them. Their cochinta taco is one of the better ones I've had in the city. Their al pastor is great. Their tortas are amazing ( I had the chicken). The place is great and the owner is a really nice guy. He'll probably chat you up too if he finds out you're a 1st timer

All I wanted tonight was a basic steak burrito. They do an excellent one! Can't wait to go back when I'm in the mood for some other stuff. Their quesabirria, cochinita pibil, octopus, etc all look excellent. The owner was great, and he had me try all their house-made drinks. All were excellent. Their horchata was outstanding too. Glad to have them in the neighborhood!
