Mr Pollo

This place has been opened for a long time and it's literally by Fina estampa which is the best pollo a la brasa restaurant in Chicago so they're doing something right to stay in business. I'd say their chicken is good, but nothing out of this world. It lacks a bit more flavor but it is definitely better than an average rotisserie chicken. This is supposed to be pollo a la brasa though which is supposed to be better than rotiseri chicken, Their sides are packed and they have amazing tostones. All of the prices have gone up and honestly unless you get the whole chicken, everything else is pretty pricey now. They also have a new credit card extra percentage charge which makes this place a lot more pricier. Overall, good food but I'd you want the best pollo a la brasa just walk 20 steps next door to Fina estampa.

If you people in Chicago think this is great South American chicken then you've never had great South American chicken. This chicken was slimy salty garbage. Flavorless except for the massive amount of salt. Blech.

Expected rotisserie chicken, don't believe it was. Biggest disappointment was the main staple here, the chicken. It was just bland as if "0" flavoring/spices were used. On the plus side, they are generous with sides and they were tasty. Won't be repeating.

..been loving Mr.Pollo since the summer when I moved to Chicago. More usually I hit up the Belmont location (logan square) though; perhaps I'll stick to that. The food was delivered timely and the driver was very kind (it was a hellish cold that evening) as he called ahead to tell me he'd bring my food up to the door. Tell me why I ate 90% of my 1/4 chicken special before finding a stringy public hair in my rice... and then another one. (granted I was hunting)f*ck man. some cultures worship the cow, others the duck; for me, don't f*ck with my pollo. and they done f*cked with my pollo!The Belmont location has been great though! yucca fries are just crispy enough, fries are super bomb, and the pollo is damn near delicious....all for like $7, really tho. The food is always really fresh, perfectly seasoned and very simple but delicious. In a sea of trendy BS, the food is always hot, fresh, juicy and tasty. Also, I have food allergies & never have to worry ordering. Fantastic place to regularly order from. Can't go wrong.

Food is very good i love the combos. But the servers attitude is sassy on top of that service tip is included at the severs discretion. Our price for two combos kept changing and we finally asked why prices were inconsistent for only two combos for almost $35! the servers then told us they add tip to every order. been coming here for years the management has changed and so has the service for the worse. food is good wish i could say the same about the pricing and servers

recent complaint to add on....... EVERY TIME I ever call Mr. Pollo to place an order since the beginning, a female always answers the phone and says she "doesnt understand" (English) when you try to place in a simple order with words that your reading STRAIGHT off THEIR MENU. If you dont understand English, why are you always picking up the phone for people that WILL BE placing their orders in English since this is America and people speak English here. Why has management there never fixed this..... ever ?? Why does it always need to take 5 minutes to place a 15 second order?? I just want to place a simple quick order for food without being given a hard time each and every time......and sometimes due to this not understanding English problem, the order shows up wrong.....they really need someone answering the phone who understands English too from the start......past compliment a 1/2 year ago ..... WOW!! got the 1/2 chicken dinner with 2 sides for $9.99. the box was jammed packed to the top with food...I was like WOW! A regular person delivered the food though instead of the chicken.:) (see Yelp photos)....

The chicken is very delicious, the fries are amazing, not so greasy. If you go get the "tomate de árbol" juice, it's amazing!
