4:30 pm and they're still open - Nirvana! The staff speaks French, the clientele is speaking French. What more can I ask for? How about lavender coffee, that perfect fusion of flower petals and coffee you can taste starting with the froth. My Friday is made. I had the financier. A more buttery version of madeleine top with almonds, an hour before closing - still amazing. Yes, it's more buttery. Took home an almond and chocolate croissant baked at 300 for 10 minutes- Nirvana!

La Boulangerie is a nice little French cafe for quick bites, coffee, and pastries. Parking wasn't easy but was not too difficult either compared to some other areas of Chicago. It's not located along very busy streets, and the walk is fairly nice in the afternoon. I had their iced latte, almond croissant, and lox and arugula salad. The iced latte was a tad bitter and eventually became watery from ice, not too flavorful compared to some other places that I've tried. Their almond croissant was good and boasted a luscious interior. It was not overly crispy and flaky, but it also wasn't flat either - the perfect balance between both. The lox and arugula salad was a tad bit skimpy, but their sauces were quite powerful. Their darker sauce tasted like fig / date / plums, sour but super sweet. The lighter sauce was also strong and mustardy. While the sauces weren't fully used for salads, they were a good dip for the baguette slices on the side. Outside of the decor, the environment is very relaxing and feature a variety of lighter colors and plants, making it an excellent environment for casual meetups or work. May return in the future to try some other items!

A delightful little spot in Ravenswood with delicious breads and French bakery items. Always hard to park here but easy to find seating indoors or out.

We arrived here on a Saturday morning around 11 during our visit to Chicago in a quest to have their Crookie (croissant baked with chocolate chip cookies within and on top). Luckily, we were able to grab their last one and it was delectable! (be sure to ask them to heat it). Their macarons were pretty good too. Decent amount of seating. Looking forward to stopping by next time we're in the Windy City.

I've tried some of the macarons and croissants during the Christmas Market over the past few years but this was my first time going to their bakery. We got sucked in by the viral cookie croissant. We had to go to Chicago from the burbs already so we figured it was the perfect time. The croissant was delicious and you can see them making everything fresh, in small batches. Of course we didn't limit ourselves to the cookie croissant. We loaded up on other goodies as well including the bread pudding, chocolate croissants, Caribbean tart, chocolate tart, and an eclair. Everything was delicious and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. The chocolate tart was a very rich so we only ate half and the bread pudding could be a meal of its own. We didn't get macarons this time but I've had them in the past and they are just as good as everything else. Can't wait to go back.

Excellent croissants. Mediocre bread pudding. Coffee is good. My weakness is the ham and cheese croissants and they tend to run out.....so not just me. Had a croissant sandwich with lox and it was good. Not sure I'd make the trek for it. Definitely making the trek for their croissants.

I got to visit this beautiful bakery in Ravenswood. I ordered a box of macaroons, and the flavors that I chose were mango, coconut, chocolate, pistachio, peanut butter, jelly, red, velvet, and vanilla. I also got cheddar, chipotle, scone, which was savory! I got a Matcha latte with almond milk that was amazing just the right amount of sweetness. The service is a little slow, but that's because they make everything very fresh for you and heat everything up for you the seating and ambience is like a Starbucks, overall this is a cute little place to have a little snack and coffee. Their bread that they make is very fresh. I hope you get to check them out.

My favorite almond croissant in the city! (Logan Square location, too) Not too sweet, light and airy with just the right crisp, and baked to perfection.

I visited La Boulangerie while in Chicago for work. I went during lunch and it was a bit of crowd. The restaurant isn't that big, so it can be a little tight with a lot of people. They do have a few tables, where people can sit and dine. Even with the crowd, they moved pretty swiftly to get people's orders taken, prepared, and ready for them to pick up. I ordered the turkey and bacon sandwich and it was delicious. The bread tasted fresh and the turkey seemed to be good quality. I also enjoyed the chipotle sauce that came on it. I enjoyed every bite of this sandwich. Although, I didn't eat it all for lunch, I was able to take some for dinner. I highly recommend this place, if you're looking for a good, local spot in Chicago!
