Dare I say...better than the other popular Puerto Rican restaurant on Division...? Just maybe! Was feenin' for a jibarito and wanted to try a new place, so found this place on Yelp. Excellent wait service, authentic flavors, timely food preparation, an extensive (but comprehensive) menu, and it's BYOB! The steak jibarito was so big and filling, I could only eat half of it. I tried mofongo for the first time, and the beef stew with it was so seasoned, you could eat it by itself. Can't wait to visit again!

This should be one of the must try spots when you visit Chicago. Jibaritos y Mas is a mom and pop Puerto Rican restaurant that's specializes in "Jibaritos". Jibaritos is a basically a sandwich with fried plantain as the buns. It is filled with your choice of protein, lettuce, tomato, mayo and served with some Puerto Rican rice. It was definitely the best spot I tried while I was in Chicago. The service was friendly and accommodating, they recommended lots of great food. The restaurant is casual so you can either sit down and enjoy your meal with some friends or grab takeout where you can devour the food without any judgement. The value is insane and I wish we had a spot like this in Toronto

This was my first jibarito when I first moved to Chicago and to this day I have not found a better one. Specifically the bistec en salsa. I've converted all my friends to that one. The sides are good too. Ask for extra hot sauce to go with your arroz con gandules. It tastes like it's made in house. If you do get the mofongo get it "al ajillo" if you like it a little more moist/juicy like me. I'm glad they opened the larger dining room next door; good for groups.

They have two storefronts- one to sit down and one for to-go.Everyone was really nice and I got my order quickly. I ordered a lechon jibarito. I ate it at the airport so it was cool then, but still really yummy! There garlic on the plantain really hit. The lechon was dry like other reviews said so I wish I got something different.

10/10My husband and I have been coming here for years and has become part of the restaurants we frequently eat at or do takeout because the food never disappoints. The servers are very attentive ensuring all is well and the music keeps the place lively.

It's an iconic Chicago sandwich. You know those sandwiches that will make you make a sound after a bite. This is it. The beans and rice is the way to go as a side. The steak is the way for your jibarito. Quick fast service. No nonsense delicious sandwich. I had the flavors in my mouth for almost the whole day and I had it for lunch. I dream about this meal.

While in Chicago last weekend, I was looking up lists of must-experience restaurants around town. A couple of them mentioned a few different spots that offered Puerto Rican "Jibaritos," which have become popular in the city. Jibaritos y Más happened to be the first one that I had read about and offered seafood options (my boyfriend is a pescatarian). On our "tourist day," after visiting a couple of famous landmarks, we were starving for lunch. I recalled this place and my boyfriend was in. We hopped in our rental car and headed over. Parking is a bit complicated because it's all street parking and no lot. Thankfully, we found a space and proceeded to head inside. We were confused because it appeared to be all takeout and no tables. I think the associate knew our thoughts because she asked us if we wanted takeout or dine in. After I said dine in, she said it was next door! Perfect! We walked a few short steps over and were seated immediately. The ambiance was casual and comfortable, and there were a lot of other people dining inside already. We were brought this amazing Puerto Rican bread with to start. It was so soft and addictive. Next we placed our orders:APPETIZERS-Fried Yuca Sticks-Queso Frito (fried cheese with guava sticks) -Maduros Gratinados (sweet plantains with mozzarella cheese + selected protein: shrimp)MEAL-Jibarito con Pulpo y Camarones (tostones sandwich with octopus and shrimp as protein of choice) with a side of Arroz con Gandules (Puerto Rican rice and beans) + a side of house hot sauce DESSERT-Coco Flan (coconut flan)We were absolutely blown away! The food was incredible. Service was friendly and fast. Ambiance was comfy. We will definitely return on our next trip to Chicago, whenever that may be.

Very genuine Puertorrican and Latin food. A bit loud with salsa music in the background. Just like in the island. Very clean. Even the bathrooms. The kitchen was behind a glass wall and from we were it also looked to be clean as well. Service was prompt and as it should have been. We had sorullos as a starter. Very decent. I had the mofongo gratin. Mofongo with melted cheese. Not a fan but that is a personal preference. The mofongo itself was good and the steak that came with it was tender and flavorful. Mom had the pork and mofongo served with broth. Friend had the jibarito with churrasco. Really good. By the way the portions are huge. Easily one dish would have been enough to serve 2In all this place is worth a visit. I'm Puertorrican and the food here felt like home. Authentic. Worth a visit.

First timer and we ordered ahead and picked up. The smell in the car was phenomenal so we were excited to dig in and we were not disappointed. We ordered:- jibarito de Cubano - their cubano sandwich was insane. Lots of flavor, loved the garlic on the the top of plantain bread. The meats were flavorful... didn't love the thick tomato slices but otherwise flavor was great and didn't get too soggy when I ate the leftover half bc the sandwich was huge- lechon and rice and beans - great flavor and the salsa in the side was so good. Pork itself was just a tad dry- some side orders including the empanadas (kinda dry), the sweet corn was surprisingly good, and the fish fritter (salty and delicious)Took out a star as we had a side order of pasteles that didn't make it into our bag and we were home by the time we realized it; the pick up was a little crazy and disorganized. But will be back to try other items!
