When I saw a $17 chirashi bowl on the menu, I was instantly skeptical and had to check it out myself. I ordered pickup and first impression was that there was too many "filler/decorations" like non edible purple things and tons of parsley. I also requested no wasabi and chopsticks but got both of them. The quality of the fish for $17 was surprisingly not bad. Not as fresh as usual places but If you're not willing to splurge the $30-$40 for a usual one, this can satisfy your cravings. It was fun to try not I'd rather spend a little more elsewhere for better quality.

Well, I know Gorilla Sushi for at least 3-4 years.I remember when they only had 1-2 locations. My favourite was on Clark.I think now they have at least five:- Clark- Jefferson Park - Logan Square - Wicker Park - Albany Park I'd say Gorilla Sushi is one of the most affordable sushi places. Great for take out! I love going there for dine-in sometimes as well.Yesterday we got:- Spicy Crunchy Salmon Roll- Tiger Roll- Spicy Trio roll (not spicy at all) - Mini Godzilla Roll- Volcano Roll- Golden California (fried roll) - Thai Iced tea (delicious) Overall: I love Gorilla Sushi. 4 starts for this location because:- Gorilla Sushi usually got $2.95 menu. This location has $3.95 and $4.95. I assume this is because expensive rent or something. But I would consider different location for take out.- They used to have nice umbrellas on the wall. Please put it back. Lol. Atmosphere was better.In general: recommend!

This is the best sushi I've had in my life. I ordered off of door dash and it's so good that I ordered it two times in one night. The avocado roll is soooo fresh and the rice is done so well. The ginger is so fresh and is delicious. The fish is amazing and they got my order done quick and good. I love this place. It is also very reasonably priced.

So bad. Some things were overcooked, some undercooked, drenched in sauce and flavorless. The rolls were very disproportionate, cut unevenly and some not even cut all the way through!! Hard pass!

I usually love Gorilla Sushi, so I brought my friend in for dinner for the first time. They close at 10pm. We walked in at 8:40 and order $60 worth of food and were enjoying catching up. The food was fine but the service was disappointing. At 9:15, they brought all the lights up to bright and started speaking loudly to each other and then just dropped the check at the table and said "kitchen is closed." It was a very disheartening experience and I will not be coming back.

THIEVES! I was a loyal takeout customer for three years and had no problems with this restaurant until last month. I ordered roughly $32 of food online through Yelp via Grubhub on 11/19 at 9:05 PM, before their listed 9:15 PM order cut-off time. I live 5 mins away from this place, so I just waited for the order to be made, then arrived in my car well before 9:30 PM. The restaurant was closed when I got there--lights fully off, chairs put up on tables, CLOSED--despite the fact that their official closing time is 10 PM on Sundays. I initially was understanding-- things happen--and because realized that I never got an email confirmation from the restaurant saying they accepted my order, I assumed that I'd be refunded, as the order was never fulfilled and obviously was never picked up. A week later, I noticed that my card was still charged, so I decided to go through Grubhub customer service to resolve the issue. When Grubhub contacted the restaurant, they refused to give me a refund, saying that all of the orders placed that night had been made. On top of that, GrubHub said that because I didn't contact them within four days, it was out of their hands. I think it's ridiculous that a restaurant would not only close 30 mins before their listed closing time, but then would straight up lie, knowing that they close early, to keep my hard-earned money. Every time I've been at this restaurant, I greet the chefs warmly, always tip the cashier well, and always pick up my order within 15 mins of placing it. There is no reason for you to treat your customers like this. I work hard for my money, and I always treat restaurant workers with the respect I'd like to receive. Do better.

When I'm ordering delivery, I always pick this GS location. Their rolls are bigger excellent sushi at a competitive price. When I ordered with a friend who had an allergy, they called me and worked through our whole order on the phone to make sure nothing would be contaminated and our order would be safe for her. Excellent experience, every time.
