Derno's

Ok I was reticent about trying it for food but that groupon was calling my name. The ambiance is great for sports fans. Just went for food. I'll use a sports metaphor: my food was a grand slam. I had the chicken tenders and also the chicken quesadillas. JESUS good !! Got them for takeout. Already want to do it again. Score !!

Food was decent. I tried the fried pickles, pepperoni pizza, and the Italian sausage sliders. I've had better fried pickles but these weren't terrible. Same goes for the pizza. The sliders were fine but kind of dry--needed more sauce. Ambiance is that of a dive bar.I am giving this place two stars because I noticed the bartender overcharged me in comparison to my tip amount. Thank god I had a picture of my signed receipt. The owner did back to me fairly quickly with a receipt adjustment. If you eat or drink here make sure you take a picture of your signed receipt. I do not believe this was an honest mistake.

I didn't try the food here but I hear it's great in its own way. The service is busy depending on the night but they are relevant to keep track of what customers are looking for. The ambiance is great if your a sports fan hence it's a sports bar, enjoy yourself to a nice evening being loud and team spirited. Just don't be suspicious , security don't play !

Not sure if there's another derno's on ubereats pretending to be them. Ordered delivery, got the derno's burger. I was looking forward to it but it came deconstructed, with no egg, no bacon, no fries, not even on a brioche bun, just regular old burger bun, the patty is 1/3 lb isntead of 1/2 lb as well Lol how can a restaurant mess up on a signature item with the name of the restaurant in it lol the only reason I can think of is someone is pretending to be themThe famous/popular wings are way expensive for just some deep fried wings that's no where near worth the price they are charging for, just hard and bone dry. The come back sauce wasn't good either, it's good when mixed with hot sauce but alone it's just a 1 dimensional sweet sauce. I could have given them 1 star but it's my first time getting food there and it was delivery so, I'm just hoping some one else is pretending to be them on ubereats using their name, address, and number. Anyway, if it is a fake restaurant, maybe this could raise the owner's awareness

Derno's is The Bomb. Everything you (or I) would want in a bar. A large, thoroughly updated, clean space; friendly, attentive staff; selection of reasonably priced draft beer; excellent food (kitchen open late); a lively, friendly crowd there to have fun; and open as late as the city allows (5:00am on Saturday and 4:00am other days). It's something of a local hang-out, but newcomers will feel welcome. It does have a bit of a sports bar vibe, but not over the top. It does get crowded later after the other bars have closed and they will typically open the back bar to accommodate. Having been around a lot of bars in my day, Derno's gets my highest rating.

I've lived down the street from Derno's for my entire 6 years in Chicago. I've been here probably 100 times that I can remember and 100 times that I forgot about. There's only been 1 time I've had a bad time here, and that was unrelated to the Derno's experience (I got in a fight with my mom because i told her a dog ran for mayor of some city in Wisconsin and she said a dog can't run for mayor and long story short things escalated and words were said that shouldn't have been said, again, not Derno's fault, it's the dog's fault for running for mayor). Other than that, the people at Derno's are always great, the security and bartenders are even better, Vince, even the bartender named Asshole if you can believe it. Honestly as long as no one brings up a dog who ran for mayor in Wisconsin you should be all set for a great time here. By the way I still don't speak to my mom because of that incident. But it's ok because I have Derno's.

My friend Stu took me there this weekend because it's the new Penn State bar and it's AWESOME! Jamie is the man!! Great bartender and brings the energy. Had a blast there and can't wait for football season!!

The cauliflower crust pizza is out of this world and keep my friends and I coming back. However, the extraterrestrial stench cultivating under our bartender's mammillary glands was to say the least unsavory. Whilst enjoying our delicious pizza we were gobsmacked by the unholy amount of moist bacteria released as she bent to get ice for beverages. An audible *ssrtt* as was heard whilst once stationary skin flaps were liberated. An ecosystem was disturbed with each 90 degree angle as patrons reacted in horror. The stench was unavoidable yet hard to distinguish. A variation of excoriation if you will. With that said it's impossible to ignore the unctuous pairing of spices in the cauliflower crust. At least someone knows how to use a rack in this establishment.

I came here with some friends for late night snacks and drinks. It's definitely the place to be if you want to stay out late. They keep the lights on, so it's not dark and dreary. The bartender was very efficient whenever we asked for anything. The food was eh. It's just drunk snacky food.

the bouncer denied me entry because my id was expired and said everyone else i was with could go in before even checking their id's. I totally understand but 1 month being expired? That's a little ridiculous. You can still fly with an expired ID‍
