Ed U. "Listen, I don't begrudge a successful business that earns its reputation to the point where people are willing to wait in an excruciatingly long line. However, I do despise people who rudely cut ahead of me when the line subdivides into separate queues. A South Asian family of five did just that, and my only pleasure was derived when a couple of North End bros snapped at them. Regardless, waiting a half-hour gave me time to peruse Google.I thought it would save time to identify what were deemed the best of Mike's cannolis. However, the veteran server at the counter didn't appear to be in a hurry as she chatted freely with the neighborhood regulars in front of us. Of course, she sped up the moment I approached the counter, and her warmth suddenly left the building. She bundled our order and off we went. Now the best part of the experience. We found a playground hidden in an alleyway called Cutillo Park. There was a vacant picnic table where we enjoyed our purchases. We ordered what were proclaimed to be Mike's Top 3 cannolis out of 20 varieties. The first was the Espresso with a fluffy coffee cream filling and cinnamon powder (photo: https://yelp.to/tlMHB6X7Wh). The second was the Florentine with a vanilla cream filling and thicker, darker shell (photo: https://yelp.to/Ux-PHbB3iH). The third was the most straightforward, the Plain Ricotta Cheese with fresh ricotta (photo: https://yelp.to/y047jJCw_U).Each was $7 and uniquely delicious. We dared to order a fourth, the Pistachio which was way down in the ranking (#14) but creamy, tasty, and nutty just the same (photo: https://yelp.to/otrirTavSp). We noticed a couple of complementary Pignoli Macaroons that were freshly baked and meltably good (photo: https://yelp.to/nvSz2zENiw). Leena S. "We headed to Sofra solely based on Yelp reviews and proximity to where we were. When we got there, the lines were almost out the door and both the inside and outside seating was practically filled to capacity. That is usually a good sign!We ordered the breakfast sandwich and the strawberry sweet cheese brioche. While we waited for our order, two seats at a communal table opened up, so we snagged them. My pastry was so good and my husband enjoyed his breakfast sandwich. The inside is quaint and lots of people were packed in there with the limited seating. They also sell prepackaged goods and sandwiches."

Cindy C. "Such a cute, trendy cafe located on Newbury Street. They are mostly known for their desserts, which are made fresh daily in-house. Their desserts rotate regularly and I always get to try a few new ones. During peak hours, it can get very crowded here, and it may be difficult to find seating. I've tried their drinks but they are a bit expensive and were alright. However, they have the cutest pastries that you cannot miss out on. They come out super photogenic, and the craziest part is that they taste as good as they look!I've tried a good amount of their desserts by now, and I have to say that Rose is my all-time favorite. I also really love Love and Green Apple. Geometric Apple is a popular one made for those chocolate lovers! One is usually not enough for me because they are too delicious.Sometimes they will sell out of certain items if it's busy, so it's better to go earlier in the day. We tried taking the dessert to-go before, but it didn't taste the same. Don't forget to get a stamp card if you're a repeat customer!"

Mark T. "(Dine Out Boston, August 2022)It would probably come as no surprise that I love dining out. But why? To try things I couldn't make at home. If I can make something, it is about a new interpretation/execution. I also enjoy good service and hospitality. Case in point: breakfast: I am lukewarm about IHOP but adore The Farmer's Daughter (Easton, MA).At Henrietta's Table, the execution, interpretation, and service were on point! I absolutely want to make a return visit. That's five stars in my book - exceeded expectations and a desire to return. I had the opportunity to try the following:- Maine Rock Crab and Corn Chowder- Pig Under a Brick- Pie of the Day- HT GreyhoundThe Maine Rock Crab and Corn Chowder was excellent. It was hearty, savory, flavorful, and well-balanced. They did not skimp on the ingredients (esp. seafood) but did not go overboard. It also did not go too heavy on the salt or the sugar (as corn chowders sometimes tend to do).Pig Under a Brick was a surprising delight. While this resembles pulled pork, while tender, I typically look for sauce. Here, they used watermelon on top, and it was served on a bed of veggies. If enjoyed together, the veggies and watermelon combine stupendously, and the sauce seems like something best left at the BBQ. This is a terrific interpretation of pulled pork, coming from someone who is not a fan of watermelon! The Pie of the Day is not to be missed if you are even remotely a pie lover. The crust was spectacular, crisp, and flaky. Puts those supermarket pies to shame! The filling was terrific as well and was warm (IIRC). Really gave it fresh feelings. Ice cream was a nice touch, too, as a means of balancing out the warmth of the pie. Added some creamy notes as well!HT Greyhound was a well put together drink! It had good strength/booziness, a little sweet, a little tart, a little savory, and very refreshing! Gin isn't my spirit of choice, but this drink makes it work. Then there's the service! It was attentive, fast, and all-around very professional. Service doesn't usually make or break a place, but it is nice to be well taken care of when going out. Also, I miss the brunch buffet, and I wish Henrietta's Table would bring it back!"

Jay M. "Stopped in as sounded different and was by Harvard University. There is dangerous step up as approaching counter... I almost tripped over then saw small sign mentioning it? A Harvard lawyer will have field day law suit as measures not adequate of warning the patron... an older person would be on floor... should be marked in Yellow paint or caution lines... or eliminate step with ramp step ?Law suit waiting .... Now to the waffles Ordered the zinnekens with chocolate sauce, homemade whip cream... waffle itself wasn't anything I will write home to grandma about at my visit to Harvard... was freshly made; was very good expected more of a Belgian taste or a sugar crunch texture.Fudge sauce ok, the homemade whip cream was excellent and what it needed. I would have like the waffle with a scoop of French vanilla or a vanilla bean ice cream ? I didn't see option for vanilla ice cream ; but after my initial review the owner or operator responded mentioning vanilla ice cream option.... So my error or make ice cream more visible as a good add on and price upgrade except one to sub whip cream for Oreo ice cream for 2 dollars extra... vanilla better with a waffle...Was fair priced, good desert but not the extra pizaz or higher level I wanted... should add ice cream offerings, waffle ice cream sandwich Chocolate chip or shortbread or other flavor waffles... orange fruit waffle with scoop orange sherbet would be a summer weather treat... Coffee offerings looked like a good compliment to waffles ... a sugar cookie waffle again with coffee expresso ice cream or vanilla bean would be a draw me in desert... employees all cool and friendly atmosphere to mingle over a coffee expresso... a s'mores waffle with chocolate, marshmallow, Carmel, vanilla ice cream with expresso bean shavings... I'd buy in heartbeat at high end price..."

John B. "Mike's Pastry is an iconic bakery originating out of Boston's North End neighborhood. They offer a variety of cookies and other baked goods, but they are especially known for their extensive selection cannoli. Mike's of course has the classic plain ricotta, but they also sell more unique cannoli such as amaretto, limoncello, and hazelnut. Moreover, there are some newer flavors such as pecan caramel, peanut butter, and mint chip. There is something for everyone. This Cambridge location is fairly new, but their baked goods are of the same high quality as the original location, but with slightly less inventory and without the obscenely long lines. My wife and I got some cannoli for breakfast and some cookies for the flight back home. They pipped our cannoli fresh. Not sure if that's a regular occurrence at this location, or if it's because I arrived close to opening. Regardless, it was delicious and our family/friends loved the cookies."

Yvonne B. "I met Haley House during the pandemic. She was consequently doing her version of shelter-in-place which meant having truncated hours, online ordering and no customers inside. I would say "rude!" except that I understood because the 'rona is real y'all! Additionally, if she weren't playing so much peekaboo, I wouldn't have met one of their cooks (Tony) sitting outside one Thursday morning. He was friendly and kindly told me the hours. If you don't know ANYTHING about Haley House besides what's written on Yelp, I encourage you to do a little work to educate yourself. It would be inconsiderate to rate her anything less than 5 stars because of her nonprofit work. This isn't necessarily about my customer experience, it's about uplifting an entire community of vulnerable individuals. That said, my experience has been excellent. This is the best food I've had in Boston!I started with the Nubian Square Wrap which is made with jerk chicken. So much yes! If you eat on the patio, Haley gives you a bowl of goodness and a hot flatbread (chapati) to wrap it in yourself. There is WAY too much goodness for the flatbread so you'll be able to enjoy it later at home. It's amazing. It has a lot of spice without setting my mouth on fire. The flavors sing like a coordinated choir! The chicken and waffles. OMG. My wife took mine from me and then ordered some for herself the next time. The syrup has a little spice to it and the waffle (or maybe the chicken?) has a hint of coconut. Finally, the pea shoots have such a nice fresh contrast that lifts it all up. Yum yum yum!I had the Mediterranean Wrap last time and my wife stole every other bite. The hummus and roasted broccoli gave me life! It tasted so good, thorough and thoughtful. So many vegetarian wraps taste similar to one another but not this one. I loved it! It paired PERFECTLY with the salad that featured kale, squash, cranberries and seeds. So vibrant and interesting! We've also had the epic chocolate chip cookie. I don't know how to describe it except that it's the best chocolate chip cookie that either my wife or I has had in our entire lives! Finally, we're ordering from the guest chef, an Indigenous person, who is taking us into pre-colonial fare just in time for Thanksgiving. Haley House gave us literature about (basically) the genocide and general disregard of Native Americans and how we should take time to appreciate and uplift them. I can't wait to try the next guest chef menu at Haley House. We also love supporting the Black owned wines and beers that Haley features on her menu. Haley's the best!"

Erin O. "So incredibly happy to finally find bagels that actually would rival NY/NJ bagels in Massachusetts! I've been on the hunt for good bagels in the Boston area for so long and these definitely are top tier. Note that this is a very small mom & pop style bagel shop with no indoor seating and only street parking. They also serve bagels very differently than other places I've been to. For example, I ordered a sesame bagel with lox & chive cream cheese, and the bagel was served to me cut in half with the cream cheese in a separate container. Luckily they provided knives to assemble your bagel, but it did take me by surprise. Another difference is that they don't toast bagels here, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker for you because these bagels are served fresh and warm from the oven. I loved the sesame bagel that I tried - it was perfectly soft and warm on the inside while also being slightly crispy and chewy on the outside, exactly what I'm looking for in my bagels. The lox & chive cream cheese was also tasty and was the perfect amount of salty and savory goodness. Next time I visit I'll make sure to get a bunch of extra bagels to savor!"

This was our first stop on our way to Harvard and I hardly could decide on what to get. My friend got the Mochi Berry Waffle, added a side of potatoes, and an oat milk ice coffee. I ultimately got the breakfast combo which came with a choice of pao bread (I remember there was a basic, garlic, and guava), scrambled eggs, and thick sliced bacon. I also ordered a pistachio matcha latte. You order at the counter and choose your table. We got the window table at the smaller dining area. It was completely empty when we began and it was very quiet. But this place fills up quickly! So make sure you get there early to find parking and have the ultimate breakfast. The pao bread was heeeeavvvvyy in weight and light in sweetness. Filled with guava jam of some sort, chewy mochi like bread, crispy outside. The scrambled eggs were perfect and a great portion. And the bacon. OMG the bacon was thick cut, perfectly cooked, more like pork jerky coated in a caramelization of the bacon fat. My type of bacon. The matcha latte was quite sweet. I think it was the pistachio, which I'm not certain but it seems like they use the pump flavored syrups. So that's probably where the sweetness came from. Not sour either, so that was a great start of the morning. For the smoked sandwich, fillings inside slid along but I enjoyed the texture of the alfalfa with the softer textures of the egg, avocado, and the smoked salmon. David L. "I've been eager to try Fattoush as I am a big fan of middle eastern-Mediterranean cuisine. We stopped in around 7:15pm on a Saturday night and were promptly seated in a fairly empty restaurant, though the dining room quickly filled up after we arrived. We started with an order of hummus and pita. The hummus was very good, as it was smooth and creamy, with pronounced tahini flavor. Forget that supermarket stuff...this is how hummus should be! Unfortunately, it was accompanied by thin, dry pita, that was oddly served in a plastic bag as if prepared for takeout. We shared a Sampler Platter and Shish Tawook. Both of the skinny grape leaves and meat and pumpkin kibbeh had nice flavor and texture. We preferred those to the mild sambousek and grilled kibbeh, which had a very fatty lamb flavor. We were glad to try a variety, but next time I'd stick to the kibbeh and grape leaves. All of the appetizers were enhanced by dipping in the hummus, so highly recommend getting at least one accompanying dip.The Shish Tawook was flavorful, but not spicy. A few pieces were dry though, and again, without any provided tahini, z'houg or garlic sauce, the hummus was necessary to complete the dish. The atmosphere is hard to describe. It is a step up from a counter service chain restaurant, as there is table service. But, water is only available in plastic bottles for sale, and the only drink options are cans/bottles (no glasses on table). It is very kid friendly...perhaps an understatement...even at 8:00pm on a Saturday night, noisy kids being ignored by their parents were blaring iPhones, etc. Certainly not the dining table etiquette our family practices, so just set your expectations accordingly. They do seem to do a significant takeout business, which might be the way to go. It's also a bit odd that they automatically charge a 3% credit card convenience fee without even asking how you will be paying.I'll likely return to try a shawarma sandwich or something, as they seem better suited for a grab and go casual set up, though the prices are more reflective of a full service dining experience."

And add an acma to it? The flavor goes off the charts! And when you eat it piping hot, mmmm good.As for their other savory items, I've enjoyed the potato borek, mainly because the potato stuffing has actual spices! It's not plain potato and salt which is such a refreshing change. The mozarella pogaca is good too. Just an FYI, all of this can be quite heavy, so you might want to save some as a snack later.I enjoy their sweet baked goods too. The chocolate and almond caramel tart is such a huge slice (it is for ~$9) but was very tasty. They have cookies, and the almond sugar coated one is my favorite. But the absolute best is the baklava.
