"I wasn't expecting much from the small neighborhood joint. We went on a Saturday for lunch and it was not too busy. The ambience was very family friendly and the food was really delicious. They also had excellent olive oil with bread as a starter. I got the steak tips and Caesar salad and it was mixed perfection. Definitely come again."
"Words cannot describe how happy I was to find out that Life Alive has finally expanded to Davis Square (in fact, on its website...they have sooo many locations now.when they only used to be in Central Square / Copley and another place back 4-5 years ago!).I used to frequent Life Alive frequently for a variety of their acai bowls in the morning when I was working in Boston...and certainly do miss having such a great, healthy start from Life Alive every work day!The shop looked very modern and clean. I liked that they did open early! So, guess what I did my first morning I was back in Boston?!?! I walked over from my place to have a proper healthy breakfast there! The food was not only very satisfying, clean and healthy...they also looked good and colorful...totally instagrammable! I also liked that they also had free internet in the cafe as well (although..it wasn't conducive to me because I had to be on a call and there were definitely background noises of people and music playing in the shop!).Overall, I love that Life Alive is finally in Davis Square! I will definitely stop by Life Alive again the next time I find myself back in Boston!"

"Biting into a roast beef 1000 is the definition of a slice of heaven. Soft pillowy bun, piles of flavorful fatty sliced beef, and a zesty thousand island sauce that is a party in your mouth. What more could you want in a sandwich? This online order only, walk up window operation that operates only a few days a week during lunch hours can be a bit annoying but maybe the scarcity is what makes it even more special when you do happen to get a sandwich on a blue moon."
"The Meridian special sub is a top 2 sandwich ever. So delicious. The bread is so good, the cutlets are thin and crispy..10/10 great sandwich. Can't stop thinking about it"
"Cute little noodle place that offers some delicious dishes. Service was quick and the servers were so nice and attentive. The place was minimal and very clean.I really enjoyed my sweet pork don and my friends were elated over their delicious noodle dishes! My dish was filling and really affordable. Excited to try more of their items next time."
"So much better than Chipotle when you are craving no fuss, fast casual Mexican fare. The tacos were bursting with meat. I can't believe they were only $3.50 each. I thought the Al Pastor and Carnitas was super tender and flavorful. Chicken was solid but the pork was the star. I had a bite of my wife's chicken burrito which was solid but I preferred the tacos. Good food, good value."
"We ordered half meat lovers, half cheese. I'd say everything about this pizza is perfect: sauce to cheese ratio, large chunks of sausage, sliced generously, crispy, fluffy crust. Came here on a recommendation and it delivers!! $24 for a large that fed three with plenty of left overs."
"Flavors - 4.5/5Textures - 4/5Presentation - 4/5Value for Money - 3.5/5Would return? YesMust-try: Any pizza! I looooooved this pizza!!! The flavors were so good for any pizza that I tried - cheese, pickle, the social climb and the special of the day (ricotta, pepperoni and hot honey). Did you just read pickle? YES, and I also thought it would be disgusting but it just works. The toppings are generous and really well spread out, which makes every bite to taste amazing. They also must have a special cheese blend that makes even the cheese pizza to taste special. The bottom of the pizza could be crispier, but the top is so crispy that it makes up for it. Like every bar pizza, the crispy cheese edge just delivers! I found these addicting."
"We placed a take-out order consisting of chicken fingers and waffle fries along with a number of pizzas including:- The impossible Vegan Cheeseburger- Pepperoni- Veggie Pizza I was impressed! The Vegan Cheeseburger truly tasted like a cheeseburger. I personally don't care for my pizza to taste like that, but if it's your thing they nailed it here. The Vegetarian vegetable was really good too. The caramelized onions, peppers and mushrooms very plentiful. My husband and nephew really liked the pepperoni pizza. The waffle fries and chicken fingers were also good! Our order was to-go, but the outside seating area looked very nice and the service for pick up was efficient."
"Ahhh! Ernesto's pizza is just top tier. I've tried their pizza in Assembly Row before and it was divine. Just yesterday, we got a whole pizza with sausage, jalapeños, and ricotta cheese. Chef's kiss!!I highly recommend trying either locations. And honestly, I am not even a pizza person (I know it sounds crazy) but EUREKA! Ever since I have tried Ernesto's, I have been obsessed."
"I have walked/driven by Johnnie's so many times, but this was my first time in after calling to order a Chicken Parm calzone; the small was huge! A nice woman answered when I called, and she was there 10 minutes later when I picked it up, very friendly in person and thanked me for coming in.After eyeing a plate of fudgy brownies I bought one of those too, it was excellent!I needed to pass one of their competitors - Gigi's - to get there, but I am no longer a fan of G's due to the snarly service and after trying Johnnie's great calzone I never need to think about Gigi's again. If you have passed Johnnie's too, go right in for a great surprise! There is retail parking along the driveway, so pull in and get your great food!!"
"Got delivery and it was delicious. Chicken shawarma plate (over rice and salad), with some extras for $1 each. The hot sauce is fire. Nice, hearty, plate of middle eastern comfort food!"

Excellent. Very small neighborhood restaurant. Love these small places. No large parties - they don't have the space. About 26 at tables and 6 at the bar. Decent wine selection. We had a bottle of Torrebruna Sangiovese that was very good. Food: yum. Raviolis a la vodka and the house special parmigiana (I I picked my go to veal) it was delicious. And an espresso to conclude the meal. Oh yes. The locals are very lucky to have this place.

We were hungry and this place looked hopping. We made a good choice. The app was easy enough to order from the car, and when we went in, we immediately were given proper attention. We did have to wait longer due to one of the items needing time, but people kept coming by and checking in with us. They were very well coordinated and it showed. The inside was very pleasant and had we had more time we would have eaten there. Once we got the food we took it back to the hotel to eat. We were surprised how tasty everything was. Reading the descriptions, I was worried it would all taste like a mishmash but it actually worked! Good textures and variety. Even my kid was willing to eat the tofu. We got three warm bowls. My favorite was the spicy noodles. What brought the rating down a bit was the smoothies. They were expensive and thinner than I expected. My kid enjoyed it though. I probably wouldnt get them again and stick with the warm bowls.

Pros:-Super Cluckin' Sunday chicken sandwich. I've only had the BBQ ranch so far but will be sure to try the Honey Mustard ASAP. Order ahead on the Monday before (instructions on their website) because it sells out and pick up is a breezeThe BBQ ranch chicken sandwich is delicious. The chicken is tender, sauces are tasty and overall it is a delightful experience that I can't wait to repeat!

Tasty, amazing portions & get your money worth! First off the people working there are awesome. Now when it comes to the food, I can only speak for the caprese sub, as it is the only thing I always get. It's always made with love and filled with delicious ingredients. Never a regret always a great experience!

I've never had mazesoba before- I am a big fan! This new place was surprisingly not as busy as the other noodle restaurant next door during lunch hours, as we were immediately seated. The interior is small but lovely- bright and cozy and the plates were beautiful. I ordered the tan tan mazesoba and my friend ordered the shoyu. We were not sure how to eat it but luckily there were instructions on the menu. The meal was flavorful, not too heavy, and surprisingly more than I could finish in one sitting. The server was also kind in suggesting us to mix the leftover sauce in rice that they provide. Definitely a place worth to stop by for lunch or dinner.

Have you heard of bulletproof coffee? Poorly explained, it is coffee with butter added (technically ghee and MCT oil, but I digress). While this is not the forum to discuss the benefits or drawbacks of this unique beverage, the key point is this: there are people who *willingly* add butter to their coffee! I am not throwing shade - if you choose to do so, all the power to you. I've tried it myself, and can see why some go for it. Okay, but who cares? This is a Mexican restaurant, not a trendy cafe! Well, the key point here is this being done willingly. Meanwhile, ordering tacos at Lunita with Al Pastor comes with enough oil to deep fry a batch of fries or two. Yikes!Other than having an unreasonable amount of fat, the Al Pastor itself is thoroughly underwhelming. It seemed only as pulled pork, with any pineapple or roasty/smoky notes missing. I would say this is more like carnitas than anything, and not very tender carnitas either. However, that said, Lunita does not skimp on the amount of protein! Whether in a taco or a bowl, I am not finding myself breaking out a magnifying glass to find specs of meat. I have no complaints where it comes to the veggies, and like with some other chains that shall remain nameless, it is possible to customize to your heart's content! I like that I can do from the traditional onion+cilantro, the more American option of lettuce, cheddar, etc., or just go ham! Also, I love that their hottest hot sauce brings some very respectable heat, and has good flavor while doing so! Finally, the prices seem reasonable all things considered. Especially keeping in mind the portions, $4 for a taco or ~$12 for a burrito is not too shabby. As for the location, it is clean and has a fair amount of seating. The service has gotten better over time as well! Thus, Lunita is a cute, colorful spot that lets you customize staples to your heart's content. The veggies are fresh, the protein plentiful, and hot sauce hot. However, the meat's flavors are barely there, replaced with a hilarious amount of oil! One last thing: it is possible to get as many or as few tacos as you want. Getting one or two is 100% possible if you're not too hungry!

My Sicilian cheese was fine, flavor was alright. My main complaint is that the dough (IMHO) is the wrong kind to use for a Sicilian. It tastes like they use the same dough on a thin crust and Sicilian, which is not what I am looking for in the flavor of my dough when I want a Sicilian pizza.I had high hopes reading reviews telling me this was the best Sicilian in Metro Boston, while it was a decent pizza, it fell far short of this mark for me.3% fee is added for CCs, Location has off street parking available.Pizza was made quickly.

As a pizza lover I have no idea how this placed slipped past me as their bar style pizza is phenomenal! Do note that if you follow the directions to Bardo's Pizza it'll take you to Castle Island Brewing Co which confused me initially until I realized that Bardo's is inside!Items we ordered (to go) as of 1/2024:- M Street Beach - $12.50 -This Kale salad is absolutely fantastic. I loved the cured tomatoes and grilled focaccia that's in here. One of the best Kale salads I've had.- Cheese Pizza (half mushroom) - $12 for cheese only - Pretty solid cheese pizza though not the standout here.- Sweet Dreams - $17 - This was the best pizza we've had. The hot honey could be spicier but it perfectly complements the pepperoni and ricotta that's on the pizza. I would 100% recommend this!I definitely plan on coming back and eating in to ensure maximum freshness (and try their other offerings too!).

"I ordered thru GrubHub after an hour and 40 minutes, with no delivery insight, I canceled with GrubHub and called directly. Food delivered in 30 minutes , $10 less expensive and the food was wonderful! Order directly through the restaurant, great people, great food, great service !!"
"I ordered online and went to pick up in store, but since there was only 1 worker and a bunch of others in the store it took a while to pick up my order. When the worker said my order was ready I thought I would be able to leave, but had to wait again because I was missing half my order. It's a fairly small space, but there is a small set of stairs to a seating area with a few tables if you choose to dine in. I ordered a chicken broccoli alfredo and created my own pasta with sausage and cheese. The container is not great for pasta because they pour in all the sauce at the bottom before they put in the pasta and toppings. It's difficult to mix, so you end up eating your toppings and are left with dry leftover pasta. There is enough for 2 servings if you want to share with a friend if you aren't too hungry. Overall, a quick and easy concept to try out, but I wouldn't return since there's nothing special about the pasta."
"We had such a lovely, relaxing meal here tonight -- our waitress was so careful to get our order correct and checked with us diligently to make sure we were happy, everything came out perfectly, and I was pleasantly surprised that the salsa was heavy on the oregano and to see a San Miguel photo on the wall! Margaritas were thirst quenching but not too sweet which we appreciated, and I always love a place that serves cochinita pibil on a banana leaf. The tortilla cups were charming and perfectly crunchy. Thanks for a wonderful date night!"
"Oh my. I'm at a loss for words. I went last night with 3 friends, all of whom had been before and I see why. It's a cozy little place in a strip mall on Route 9 with plenty of parking. The web site said no parties over 4 but there was a table set up for 7 so maybe there are exceptions. It *is* a smallish place, a few tables and a bar in the front, some tables further back. But charming, with a cozy friendly ambience. Chef Dave came through as we were getting settled and gave a friendly greeting as he came by. The wait staff was helpful, pleasant and efficient. The bartender is a magician if the French Kiss I enjoyed is any indication. My dining partners had sauvignon blanc which they enjoyed (okay, I had a glass too after I finished my French Kiss). We had many many questions about the menu and the specials and our waiter--wish I had gotten her name--answered patiently and came back multiple times before we were ready to order. We shared a Burrata salad which was delish. I had the Prime Filet with mashed potatoes and haricot vert with a demi glacé. Cooked to perfection! My mouth is watering just remembering. My companions had the pan seared halibut, another similar seafood dish I don't recall--salmon maybe?--and the lemon roasted half chicken. Raves all around. Okay I won't lie, the steaks and a couple of the seafood dishes were expensive so I'll have to pace myself regarding a return, much as I'd love to eat here regularly. But I truly can't wait to return. I envy those whose proximity and budget allow them to be the regulars warmly greeted as we sat there enjoying our meal. Kudos to Chef Dave and the staff!"
"Glad this space is now occupied by Bar cino. This is just what the area needed. Love the Italian food here. Great meatballs. Great Flatbreads. Amazing server! The staff is so nice here. They gave a cool patio for outdoor dining as well. I was very happy with this visit. I'll be back because it's so close."
"Expected More, but Wonderful PeopleI was here for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was not busy (I was the only customer). The owner was working behind the counter preparing chicken for the shawarma. He stopped what he was doing, cleaned up, greeted me and carefully prepared the food I ordered. This kind of personal attention to the food doesn't exist at many places and shows the amount the owner cares about his restaurant. I've tried both the chicken and beef shawarma and both were pretty good. The food is all made in-house, and is all fresh. Just expected more. Thanks"
"Came here for drinks on a Friday night. It's a pretty small venue if you're just there for drinks so keep that in mind. The drinks, however, were awesome! Any drink that comes in a martini glass they give you the rest of the shaker too so it's a great deal. The bartenders were very friendly and the vibes were great."
"A nice neighborhood market/deli on Smith street, right where the Thai grocery store used to be. They have limited parking but street parking is usually not bad in this area. I went in to look for some ethnic groceries and they had a nice small selection of Asian and Latin American groceries. Unfortunately, the spiced rice that I was looking for.....they only had GOYA brand, which I don't buy because of GOYA's owner's political stands. Therefore, I did not buy any groceries. I checked out the deli section and their menu is large and varied. They have a large selection of prepared salads that look really nicely done. This business was born and created as a place where people can gather around excellent food, shopping, urban culture, and great coffee - that is the vision that Ken Zorabedian and Rick Melise had when they came up with the concept for Bodega on Smith. They wanted a place where people of diverse ages and cultural backgrounds could shop, meet, and mingle in the heart of Smith Hill, their childhood stomping ground. Located just a few blocks from the State Capital Building and a stone's throw from Downtown Providence, the Bodega on Smith provides quality produce from local Rhode Island farmers. You can pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables. There's a selection of vegan and non-vegan gourmet cheeses, cured meats, and farm fresh eggs. The prepared foods section is internationally inspired and changes daily with both vegan and non-vegan options. The Market Menu is a rotating menu, and their sandwich menu has over 30 sandwiches and a dedicated Vegan Menu. The one thing that I can also say is when I walked in, there was a pungent odor inside the entire store. Not sure what that was, but for me, it was a bit of a turn off."
"I don't know how they get their falafel so fresh and fluffy, but it's a real winner. Green, flavorful, it's one of my favorite falafels in the area nowadays. Also love that their platters contain so many options: a good portion of your chosen main from a variety of options (including proteins like fish and bastarma), fries or flavorful yellow rice with scattered onions and peppers, a nicely dressed and seasoned salad portion, a falafel or two, a portion of grilled veggies (tonight was broccoli, cauliflower, and peppers), hummus, very pungent garlic sauce, a pita, and a charred jalapeno. It's fresh, flavorful, filling (makes 2 meals for me), tasty, mostly healthy, and pretty cravable. But there are sandwich and bowl options too, if you don't want all the frills- they've got portions and options for all appetites. So far, the chicken shawarma and chicken kebab are winners- seasoned nicely and not dry, though the shawarma is more pieces of tender than actually shaved shawarma-, with the beef shawarma coming in third. Don't sleep on the filo cheese sticks (crispy and delicious) or the baklava (huge portion) either. Delivery is reliable and food typically arrives still hot. If you haven't tried them yet, what are you waiting for?"
"Directly opposite the State House, this sandwich shop cranks them out at lunch time. I stopped in post-lunch rush and jumped on a pastrami sandwich. A very good portion of pastrami, some provolone cheese and a few tomatoes (yeah, I picked all of that) with a huge portion of fries.A good amount of space with a half dozen two-top tables and another half dozen seats at the counter. Cooler of bottled and can sodas and juices and teas. Service was good."
"There's something to be said for vibes. These alone were enough to propel Roza Lyons into 5-star territory. That and the fact that they aren't afraid to use basic seasoning (looking at you, On Deck). Unfortunately, I didn't come hungry. So I only had enough space in my stomach for the Rattlers. These were great! The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly and was the true star of the show. The supporting acts of cheese and sun-dried tomato tortilla did not get lost along the way. In a word, everything was balanced! Only the tiny (and undressed) side salad seems like an afterthought. I'd also like to take a moment to point out the sauces. The habanero ranch was pleasant, though alas, my heat tolerance to make an impact. The hot sauce, though... let me tell you: this stuff is HOT! Solid flavor and real heat! Proceed with caution. The Cool as a Paloma cocktail was terrific! It hit all the right notes from the recipe. There were flavors of cucumber, a little sweetness from the grapefruit, and some spice from the jalapeño. Overall, it was refreshing and strong despite not tasting super boozy. Finally, the vibes, as mentioned earlier: This is the kind of place with local regulars where everyone knows each other. Not just by name but about their lives and families. Even as a first-timer, I felt welcome as well! People aside, the location itself is clean and welcoming. While I may not be a local (at least not yet), I may, at some point become one of the regulars!"
"Great food, best Indian food in New England area. Their chole reminded me of the Delhi ki galliyan. The service is also very good, very warm and welcoming staff. Must visit."
"This food is so FREAKING AMAZING. Honestly you are getting fine dinning quality in a casual restaurant that delivers such good food. I went here for dinner three times in two weeks and each time it was consistently good. The halloumi and zucchini chips were my go to. The fries with feta are also delicious. They carry an array of Greek imported drinks. The dips.. oh the dips!! The Tirokafteri aka spicy feta is just out of the world as is the tsaziki. The plates are generously portioned. The yaya donuts are SO GOOD!! I honestly tried almost everything and I can't say not one bad thing. Staff goes above and beyond. They want customers to be happy. They even take customers minutes before close. Amazing spot."
"Highlighting another Vietnamese spot in Dorchester- this place serves a variety of different Vietnamese dishes, particularly lots of soup stuff. We were greeted with big smiles and good energy from the workers and the food came QUICK. My sister and I got the Bun Bo Hue and the Canh Bun. We took some home to go because it was a huge amount (for $14.95 each!!), and my mom said she liked the BBH, and the Canh Bun wasn't her favorite LOL. In my opinion, I thought it was great and it was loaded with lots of different meats, but she was saying how Canh Bun doesn't normally have tomatoes and that Bun Rieu does (a very similar dish). Aside from that, I honestly thought it was really good and I loved the fermented shrimp paste to it for the extra umami flavor.Great portions, nice people, and hearty food!"
"This place has been around forever for a reason it's really relaxing they have a full bar and the service is very welcoming. This is my first time and I only had the Pizza but I shall return and try the prime Rib and some parm chicken or eggplant maybe the stuffed shells with meatballs. As for my pizza I had a custom made pie and it was delicious I like this pizza because the sausage had plenty of fennel and the sauce was on the sweet side and the cheese was really good and didn't turn chewy when it cooled off. Come see them if you haven't already. Btw they have a ginormous parking lot right across from the restaurant."
"OMG! This place was awesome!!! Came here for lunch and what a gem! Love the atmosphere and decor of a small diner. Service was excellent and the food was so fresh and delicious. Parking is a bit trickery because of the location. We actually parked in the CVS parking lot and walked across. But definitely if in the area make sure to stop in. Only place to find Crazy Noodles which my husband couldn't stop talking about. Mixture of large noodles with fresh veggies."
"Your local joint serving up great pies with great service. The ambiance brings you back to a simpler time. One of nostalgia and love.Go get a slice and travel back in time."
"See this place on Guy Fieri s DDD We were in the area so decided to go for lunch , very cute small little place but well worth it . We got a Cesar salad to share plus we ordered a cheese pizza with pineapple . Really good Pizza !!!!!"
"I recently gave Pokeworks a try and opted for the spam musubi. It was decent--nothing spectacular, but definitely a good option if you need a quick, filling meal on the go. The spam musubi (wrapped with plastic) is convenient to carry while traveling, making it a handy snack or light meal. There was a bit of a wait, but we did come during a busy time, so that was expected. The overall experience was okay. If you find yourself in need of a quick bite and are in the area, Pokeworks is a solid choice."
"Soooo glad to have another bagel place in Cambridge! The bagels were great quality--soft on the inside, with a good crust on the outside. Only complaint was that the bagels were on the smaller side. Love all the creative cream cheese flavors they had--the beet, dill, horseradish cream cheese had such good flavor (with an extra little kick from the horseradish). I haven't tried them yet, but they also have a variety of dips, pastries, and I think they cure their salmon in-house (!!!). The interior is super cute and well designed, in love with the branding for this place. I believe they have just started making full bagel sandwiches, but I haven't had the chance to try. Will be coming again to try more bagels and sandwiches!"
"Pretty good hotel restaurant! We went daily for breakfast during our stay and I always got the avocado toast. It's surprisingly hardy coming with 2 eggs, pickled onions, tomatoes, and more. Super filling and one time I added vegan sausage on the side, but I'd skip this since it was pretty dry and didn't add much. The eggs were cooked well and the sourdough was good too. The side of potatoes added to how filling the dish was. The fruit cup I was pleasantly surprised by since it came with fresh berries and sliced banana when I was expecting the typical older honeydew and grapes. Overall, I'd say this place is a good value but I do wish they had smoothies!!"
"Wow! The subs are huge and reasonably priced. Short walk from my office and it's obvious this place is popular. Around 12pm on a Friday, they were rocking.Got a custom chicken cutlet sub and it was loaded. Made to perfection and the nice lady who wrapped and handed me my lunch mentioned, "I hope you're hungry." Now I know I wasn't lol! Good bang for your buck. One sub is enough to share or leave half for later! Recommended if you're in the Back Bay area."
"Had a hot dog there - amazing! The bread was toasted and crispy, and the mustard and hot sauce at the self service counter were flavorful and yummy!A really satisfying hot dog for a quick stop before dinner. It's located in Seaport. A little pricey for simple stuff like hot dogs and grilled cheese but the food itself was very high quality for what it wasFriendly service too"
