I ordered the taco bowl with shrimp and it was pretty good. The menu has a variety of starters and tacos as well. The portions are on the smaller side, but it's a good option for lunch if you're in the area."

I thought the Al Pastor and Carnitas was super tender and flavorful. Chicken was solid but the pork was the star. I had a bite of my wife's chicken burrito which was solid but I preferred the tacos. Good food, good value."

They have several other locations in the Boston area including in JP, Southie, South End, Mission Hill, Roslindale, Brighton, Brookline, and Newton. This is a fast casual Mexican eatery serving up made to order tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, tortas, tostadas, taco salads, bowls, tamales, with choices of fillings, veggies, and meats. The cozy space has a cool vibe with limited seating inside. You can order online for takeout or delivery or in person. For takeout, I ordered the Carnitas Taco Plate ($14.95 plus tax) which comes with Mexican rice and black beans. My order was all set in about 11 minutes after ordering and I enjoyed my food back at the house. The 3 soft corn tortillas were wrapped in foil to stay warm and the decent amount of food was packed well in a foil container including the firm black beans, soft rice and plenty of tender carnitas, radish, cilantro, onions, lime, and sauces on the side. I made my own carnitas tacos which were filled up pretty good, as I enjoyed my late dinner watching TV.  I would recommend this place for fresh Mexican takeout."

This cozy and casual Mexican restaurant and bar has a festive atmosphere with colorful and decorative tables and chairs and upbeat Mexican music blares over the speakers.I stopped by Tacos & More recently and dined in. The server/bartender brought out a complementary basket of warm crunchy chips and medium salsa and an ice water. I ordered the Shredded Chicken Blanco Chimichanga ($12.99 plus tax), which was served to me very hot in under 10 minutes. The portion of food was good which had a deep fried tortilla filled with soft shredded chicken topped with a white queso with a soupy refried beans, soft Mexican rice, lettuce and tomato (no sour cream?). The food tasted pretty good and it was very filling to eat. The check was $13.90 with tax and before tip. Overall, this is a good low key traditional Mexican restaurant (not packed) located close to another cozy Mexican restaurant and away from the busy Route 9 shopping and chain restaurant traffic."

The lettuce was sitting in water to keep it fresh, so a lot of it pooled at the bottom of my bowl. Otherwise, everything was pretty good. Markus D L. "Tacos was the goal so we decided El Pelón Taquería. We were lucky enought to get parking right in front. There is a nice setup outdoors but I Wish they had more indoor seating because Boston is cold outside right now. The place seemed surface clean. I had to wet napkins with water from the soda machine and wipe the table down. And under the table needed to be swept. Chicken and steak tacos were good and flavorful. One issue was that the steak was slightly overcooked so the hot sauce kinda just sat on top rather than blending in like with the chicken. They were also topped with so many ingredients, they were hard to just pick up and eat. Get the napkins ready! Tried the pork burrito. It was laden with rice beans plus the pork was dry. If it just had more salsa it would have been perfect and added a freshness to the burrito, but i wasn't spending $5 to get a side of salsa. I would go back. Prices were reasonable and the food was good for a quick filling meal. Service was okay. Overall nice place but the food is definitely too messy to eat in the car."

It's definitely not the kind of Mexican food I grew up eating, but it still tasted pretty good. I would say the dishes here are more Americanized as opposed to authentic, but nonetheless they're tasty. The prices are decent, but what really won me over was the atmosphere The walls, furniture and decor reminded me of the dozens of restaurants I grew up near. Plus, they were playing bachata (music genre) and it was especially nice to hear since it's been a long time since I've heard it. This market has everything from hot food made daily to frozen food, from different Central American countries. All is very yummy, I've tried the pupupas mixtas and the plantano con frijol (fried banana with black beans) and have loved them both. They breakfast burritos in the morning and tacos for lunch. The only down side to this place is that it's a first-come-first-serve kind of take out, stuff tends to run out towards the end of the day and they don't make more until the next day. Being Guatemalan I love tor-trix, it's the national snack of Guatemala, and to my surprise they had snack size bags of lemon flavored tor-trix here!"

They have lots of good beverage options- my bf Francisco P. & I had horchatas and our dinner companion had a papaya shake. On request, they can prepare the shake with water instead of milk. You can see the female chef in the kitchen preparing the food lovingly by hand. I tried the bean and cheese pupusas, which were very good. Our companion also tried the chicken pupusas, which she said were also very good. We thought they tasted freshly made, to order. I love that the pupusas had the bits of crunchy cheese that form when some cheese leaks out the side. I was also glad to have the red sauce and pickled cabbage for putting on top. Maybe next time I'd order more of that because I love the pickled cabbage, or curtido. My bf had a Salvadoran combo plate- that had a pupusa, a Salvadoran tamale, and a Salvadoran enchilada (which closely resembles a Mexican tostada). I had a taste of the tamale, which had chicken, & which I thought was really flavorful, and different in consistency than a Mexican tamale- softer."

Being in quarantine, I really wanted to make my best friend's birthday special. I did extensive research on bakeries in the Boston area and I was really impressed with their cakes I saw on Facebook. I reached out to the bakery, and the response was prompt and friendly. I was in touch with Fernando, who was very informative with ordering a birthday cake. I went with the coconut tres leches cake. I was a little worried how everything would turn out since I was ordering from out of state but Fernando was very reassuring and detailed the entire process. I was able to pay over the phone and confirmed the delivery information. The night prior to the delivery, I sent a message to make sure everything was ready to go and he sent me a picture of what the cake looked like. Amazing!! And the day of, he sent me of a picture of the delivery. He even called the birthday girl when the cake was delivered. She called me and was so happy to see the special surprise! She said that Fernando was super friendly with a birthday greeting and delivery. I sent her the bakery's information and she is looking forward to visiting them soon. Next time I'm in Boston, they are going to be my first stop, so that I can thank them in person! Not only do they have beautiful cakes, but their food looks delicious too and I am a huge fan of Colombian food! The area itself is kind of small, but there was a bunch of people in there, and we didn't feel crowded, and there's plenty of places for people to sit. The place has a modern feel in a L-shaped space with rows of table seating, seating up at the bar with TVs, big windows for natural light and murals on the walls. The bar offers 6 beers on tap, wine, margaritas, tequilas, and sangria. The prices here are on the higher spectrum.I stopped by Mestizo on a late afternoon and sat myself at the bar. The bartender brought over a glass of cold water as I went over the menu. I decided on the Tostadas De Atun ($18 plus tax), which has Asian fusion marinated tuna loin pieces, pickled red onion, avocado, garlic cilantro sauce, on top of a crisp corn tostadita. This cold appetizer had a citrusy flavor. Next, the Yuca Fries ($7 plus tax) were 5 thick crisp firm yuca fries with a creamy dressing for dipping. I also got 2 tacos which were the Carnitas ($7 plus tax) and Camarones ($7 plus tax). Though small tacos, both were nicely presented and both I enjoyed served on top of soft corn tortillas.
