Baytown Seafood Restaurant

I took a star off because of bad service from our waitress. We told her twice to separate the checks between my friend and me and she didn't. It was obvious I needed a bag since I was going to take two containers to go. I don't like waste but did need one. I got up to ask for something in the cash register area and the waitress was looking at her phone. The restaurant wasn't busy.Some items are served in their china and some in styrofoam. The cole slaw is good and not swimming in mayo; however, $4 for this side item is too much. It should be $3. The menu is ample and includes pad Thai. My shrimp soup was ok and nothing to write home about. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals which included crab cakes, fried shrimp, steamed veggies and baked potato.

The food is really good. It's fresh, hot and well-seasoned. The tv is going in and out today and it's a bit slow but that how we like it. The room is nice and cold and the smell is okay. The aesthetics is late 80's lost fishing boat.

Their prices have gone up over the years, but still their grilled seafood is so good. I get the stuffed flounder or salmon and it comes with a baked potato Or dirty rice, grilled veggies and a salad. It is one of my favorite place to have grilled veggies... they use their Special house seasoning and butter and it is just too good. For the meal I described it's $21.99 ... yes that is pricey. But they do have the same option on the lunch menu mon-fri and I think it's $17 ... which honestly is why it should be on a regular basis. Staff is always friendly and honestly I don't know what the inside really looks like, cause I always get my food to go. But if you want good seafood, def try this place: they also have padthai options.

I go here because I like their Gumbo and the fish is tasty as well. The last two times that I have went haven't been so pleasant. The girl at the front desk that may be Vietnamese needs some major customer service and phone training. The first incident was in August. I went with a friend to order some to go food which included Gumbo and a Fish dinner. I placed my order and decided to get a soda. I opened the soda and noticed that it was flat and out dated. I went to try to pick out another soda in their soda cooled but noticed that the sodas were outdated. I went to the front desk and explained to her and requested a refund. She proceeded to argue with me saying that I shouldn't have opened the soda and drank some. I clearly had not drank any of the soda. I flat out told her not to argue with me and just give me my $ back. The second incident happened last Thursday. I called in an order for Gumbo and the same girl answered the phone very dry and nonchalant. I looked at my phone like is this a restaurant that I'm calling. I go to pick up my Gumbo and notice that the lunch special price went up $3.85. The price use to be $8.05 and now it is $11.90 total. I understand that costs do go up and the struggle that everyone is going through right now due to the pandemic. I get to work to eat the Gumbo and noticed that it wasn't filled with all the ingredients as it usually is. I feel that if the price has increased significantly higher, then my Gumbo should be filled with Shrimp, Sausage, fish, and crabmeat.

I had not ventured much to Missouri City but this time I was here with another couple for some seafood at Baytown Seafood. This place was picked by them as we wanted to try places that we never visited.Ambiance: the deco was of an older era ~ in the 70's style. The place was really spacious. I didn't feel crowded at all.Food: I believe we ordered just 1 appetizer, fried calamari, and 1 big bowl of gumbo soup to share for starters. The calamari was not that great and the gumbo was just ok. I feel the gumbo was under-seasoned. I had to add a bit of tabasco sauce to spice it up.The main course was shrimp and catfish platter for my wife and me. The serving size was generous. I shared the platter with my wife and it was just about the right size for both of us. The fried seafood was good. The batter was neither too thick or too thin. Having said that, it could have used more seasoning.Service: the service was good. I had no complaints here. Our waitress was nice and accommodating. She eagerly brought plates and cups for us to share our food.The food was just ok and it wasn't cheap either. The service was good. Overall I think the place is just average. Would I come all the way here for a meal? The answer is no. Would I say this place is horrible? The answer is no also. Baytown Seafood is just average to me so 3-star rating is given.

The food is good when they make it correctly. I ordered a plain baked potato as an extra side and was given a fully loaded one. I don't eat bacon, sour cream or cheese or I'm not eating that. Basically a waste of money.

Ate here before, during, and after Covid. Quality was bad during/right after Covid, however they seem to have improved. Fish could use more seasoning but was very fresh and hot and cooked perfectly. The fries were excellent, fried perfectly, probably best fries in the area.

Food was delicious! The waitress were super helpful and patient with us. They gave us suggestions and brought our food out pre quickly. We will definitely be coming back! Shrimp were huuuge! Sauce was sooo yummy

My mom and myself went with a group from our church. The service was not that good. The waiter that asked for my mom and my order. The shrimp was hard and my mom could not eat it. We had to call the waiter and it took him almost 5 to ten minutes to come to our table. They were not even busy at this time. She asked for the #11 which is three catfish on the lunch menu in place of the shrimp dinner. She also told him to bring back the baked potato instead of bringing her a new one. Some of our group was asking for more water and tea. Jacob our waiter did not come to ask us if the table needed anything. When it was time to pay. The group was asking where are tickets were. We I got the ticket it was only my order and not my mom's order on the same ticket. In the beginning we had told him to my order and my order on one ticket. He put my ticket and my mom's on separate tickets plus over charged us. We like paying our on tips. Then, your manager came over and told us "THAT WE WERE RUDE AND ALWAYS LOUD". We come there a lot with this group. My mom and myself have been several times by ourselves. But because of your manager, we will not be back for a long time. Were there around February 22, 2024. The group started getting there around 11:45 and stayed until about 1 pm because after eating it took Jacob a long time to give tickets to us. The manager of the day was very rude to us.

Their large seafood Gumbo is 1) not a large anyone, maybe a medium at best And 2) lacking of seafood. I found 3/4 of a shrimp in my gumbo. Really???? For 11.99.???now i see why the place is empty every time I visit!
