Reminiscent Restaurant

Today was my second time trying to visit this restaurant. I tried once before after seeing them being televised on Fox 5. I went and it was obvious they weren't ready for the crowd they received. This was several months ago.Today I tried again after coming through Conyers headed home. First the restaurant had changed names. When I tried to eat here the first time, it was called Reminiscent. I asked about the name change and the server couldn't really explain why the restaurant changed names. I entered the foyer of the restaurant to find the door leading into the dining area locked and a hostess standing behind a table. I arrived at 4:30pm on a Sunday. The sign on the door stated their hours were from 12pm - 8pm. There was a menu and it appeared it was where they processed to go orders. With the door leading into the dining area locked I asked if they were only accepting to go orders. The hostess said they were open but had to check to see if we could be seated. The hostess returned and unlocked the door. The door being locked was truly concerning. I asked the hostess about the locked door who explained it prevents stray people from walking in. The door being locked is definitely a fire hazard.First the restaurant was out of mac n cheese and yams at 4:30pm. This is 3.5 hours before closing??? Our server was not familiar with the menu. He couldn't even tell us the types of salad dressing. He told us there was an up charge for sides that they have labeled "East Sides" and the menu clearly shows the up charge applies to the sides labeled "West Sides". He over charged my dining companion and it wasn't caught until we were leaving. They returned and management didn't know how to correct the error. Our server also told me there is a charge for refills on sweet tea because the tea is "made to order!" I asked our server how long had he worked there and he stated 2 months. This is more than enough time to be familiar with the menu. The food at the restaurant was good but the dining experience was extremely poor. I wouldn't return nor could I recommend this restaurant to anyone. Business owners must be cognizant of their guests dining experience.

Perfect. Just....perfect. The inside is larger than you'd expect and super cute with a bar (seemed to be closed for covid but I'm not sure). We ordered the fried chicken with two sides (mashed potatoes, greens, Mac and cheese). The Mac and cheese was REAL. A REAL SOUTHERNER in the REAL kitchen cooking with REAL cheese and baking in a REAL oven. Praise God won't He do it. It was actually delicious. A rarity in "soul food" restaurants. The greens were absolutely perfect, slightest kick and not too salty. The mashed potatoes were decent, but the fried chicken was...yes ma'am. Absolutely *chefs kiss* like your mama would make in the skillet! AND THE CORNBREAD WAS FIREEEEEE!!! had a hint of nutmeg or something it was wild. Food came out hot, service was great and the lemonade tasted homemade. AMAZING spot. Will absolutely be back.

I really hate giving them 2 stars because I really wanted to support this black owned establishment. I went on a Saturday evening when they had a band. The menu I received was very limited. The entrees were only 2 types of fried fish and the 3 chicken wing dinner. I tried the "soul rolls". They were pretty good. But the first thing I noticed was that they added a 20% gratuity for a party of 1 and a $5 entertainment fee! What does that even mean? Is it because of the band? Either way, I felt that both were ridiculous! The food was okay.... Not bad and nothing to rave about either. The band, however, was awesome! Unfortunately, I won't be listening to them there again. I spent roughly $50 for a 3 piece chicken wing dinner, soul rolls and a lemonade. Never, ever again!

I called to place an order and was told that they are not taking any call-in orders. That, and the fact I had toWait 10 minutes at curbside after I was contacted that my food was ready is why I subtracted one star. I waited about 30 minutes for my food to be ready.The young lady who took my order (I believe her name was Nia) was absolutely lovely. When I got my food it was still warm after driving home. I ordered fried wings, yams, and macaroni & cheese. It was ALL delicious. The food is a little pricey but I will be back! Black owned business as well.

Well...first time here and we are the only peopleThere and it still took about 30 minutes our food. The waitress was not informed about the menu.....everything I ask she had to ask!They charge 18% gratuity off top and we only seen her when she dropped the food off and when she brought the check! Nice spot but I would NOT go back! The black eye peas are NOT good and she told us the sweet tea wasn't ready!?!?! There were several items on the menu not available

I have not even had the food yet, between them taking forever to give me my order, wanted to charge an extra 10% for curbside Covid-19, and not having some items; oh the lady got an attitude....Im good! Maybe on a slow day, I've seen enough; totally exhausted!Okay, but this food is good! Please get it together with the other stuff? Please

Food is pretty good but the prices are high for what you get. I'm insulted by the takeout charge!

The Food is great but the customer service is amazing!!! The collards are tender, fish fried perfectly. Like eating at your Aunties house lol

This spot right here is the New Conyers, The food, the Band, OMG the Band, but don't sleep on the waitress Ms. T she can shut Lauren Hill down but don't take my word come see for yourself. My husband and I will definitely be regulars shot out to to Van.

After a religious convention on a Sunday. We decided to visit this establishment.The food was "AWESOME". Six women of a certain age; all excellent cooks. We all loved the food, ambiance, and music.
