"Great experience here trying the Yakitori tasting which included one of each of the meats and veggies and a dessert one for 9 total plus a salad and rice pilaf for $65. We had one each and it was def enough food. We like the chicken a lot, steak was just ok {maybe bc we prefer med rare and having well cooked in general just wasn't our jam} , lobster was a large piece tempura style and super yummy. Veggies were all awesome. We didn't need our shishedo pepper app since they were part of the veggies skewers oops lol. Mushroom and squash and also tomato were all so good. The tuna ball app was huge and came with crispy wonton chips -also very good. Service was outstanding. Our server was so helpful and made great recommendations and points to help up select our food and accommodate our toddler and his food. We got the kiddo two chicken skewers {sans onions } and some rice. Ambience was a bit different than expected--but it matched the VaHi vibe and felt a bit more low key and casual than the Kinji other spots {kinji room MF} Doors open to the street, which is inviting however we got a whiff of smoke while eating since the spot is pretty quaint and has a clear view to outside. Some tables out on the street, bar seating, and table/booth options as well. Overall def worth checking out and pretty awesome if you are trying to eat clean and simple."

We split: vegetable fried rice, cucumber and avocado sushi and the veggie tempura roll. I was so glad to see so many vegetarian options. They had a whole section on the menu! My favorite was the cucumber avocado sushi and my sister prefered the tempura roll. We both were not huge fans of the rice surprisingly because it had a really strong mushroom taste. It was very overwhelming, and I have actually never had mushroom in my fried rice at similar restaurants. If you like mushroom you would like it, but we only like a little, but not enough to flavor the whole meal. It was still edible and I am sure most people would enjoy it, but we would probably just order more sushi next time vs the rice. ***PRICE***I know the rice was about 10$ because they only have a full order, which was fine since we were splitting it. They had plenty of Uber Eats and Door Dash orders being picked up while I was there so it is popular.The waitress was very attentive and recommended some good sushi rolls to me. The sushi chefs are right behind the bar and you can see them make the sushi. I got an Alaskan roll, chef choice - looked like sashimi, and Buckhead roll. All the rolls tasted great but I liked the Alaskan roll the most."

CONS:- Location isn't very convenient and the space is very dated. The entrance isn't very obvious and honestly doesn't look very nice from the outside. Main entrance leads down a hall that has two doors at the end: one for the Japanese market and the other for the restaurant. Sashimi quality was OK - not the freshest but you're getting this at a steal. Ginger sauce on the salad was yummy. Grilled salmon was very good albeit it's a small piece. Udon was very basic with only a piece of sweet tofu on top and some scallions. No other garnishes. Parking: private lot (free)Overall, it's A-OK. Glad we had the opportunity to try this place."

There was a ton of mushrooms and a few lobster pieces at the bottom of the bowl but not worth ordering. The Superman roll uses soy paper instead of seaweed wrap. "I'm so happy to have found this restaurant on Yelp. I wanted to head to Sandy Springs for other reasons but wanted dinner first with my family. Love the vibe here and the decor. I haven't been to a restaurant in a long time that had the kind of service we experienced. From the front door on, we really felt welcome. The hostess was especially amazing and my daughter at the end of the meal was debating sorbet, and she actually brought a small bowl to her complementary with a little whip cream, compliments from the chef. It was such a nice gesture. Let's talk about the food... My sushi roll. The Mexicana was terrific. It was fresh, spicy, and their spicy mayo was on point. My ginger salad was fresh. My daughter enjoyed her salmon roll. The pickiest one of us all, my boyfriend, always seems to compare every place we go for hibachi to one place that he really really likes. He said their hibachi parallels the place he likes so well. That was shocking to me. He also ordered a nonalcoholic Mojito, which was very refreshing. They do have a full bar, but I decided not to drink last night. I'm so glad that everyone had a terrific meal, and again the service really stood out. This place is a little drive for us but so worth our time. Please give them some love too and keep this business thriving!"

Well turns out that's not even what it's supposed to taste like and I must've had a bad experience. She ordered the Nigri we got the salmon, salmon, belly, and tuna. Every single one of those were absolutely delicious and so fresh! The sushi chef even came over and said they switch out the fish every two days, I would definitely try any one of those again.In between our appetizer and entrée, we got some banchan, which consisted of bean sprouts, cucumbers, radish I think, and I'm not sure what the last one was but they were all great.For our lunch entrée (I had planned on getting Ramen but we never made it past our sushi rolls for the rolls) we got the aloha roll and the Spider-Man that Spider-Man role is pretty big and it took two bites to eat which is not a bad thing. It was absolutely delicious and flavorful , the aloha roll was great as well. I liked the taste of the spicy tuna.After we were done eating, the waitress bought us a little tray of desserts to share. One of the desserts tasted like a little fruit parfait. The other two things were a chocolate macaroon, and I believe a sweet bun filled with cream. All in all we had a great experience I really enjoyed my service and food, and would definitely come back or recommend."

Our waiter was kind and made good recommendations and he suggested to us to go to with the Omakase menu but my wife and I opted for the Tapas and Small plates dishes. We ordered 7 dishes from there and felt happy with our choice. The cocktails were excellent and the seafood and wagyu dishes were wonderful. Since we didn't go with the Omakase meal I can't speak for the quality of that but the small dishes we ordered were all wonderful and full of flavor and quality.Our waiter gave us detailed descriptions of each dish and drinks we ordered and helped bring the meal together and made for a comfortable and well narrated meal. Don't think you can go wrong with any of the food options off the tapas menu and the drinks we ordered were all excellent.The ambiance of the restaurant is high class and a feeling of luxury and a well pampered meal and great for a special occasion as the prices were a bit high but well deservedly so. We came a bit early as our reservation was before 6 and had time to take some pictures in the restaurant which was nice. With regards to parking, we self parked in a covered parking lot directly adjacent to the entrance of Prefecture and while it is not officially Prefecture's parking lot, we were told it was fine to park there.Overall, my wife and I give Prefecture 5 stars and recommend them for a special occasion and give two thumbs up.Thank you!"

It's a Korean owned Japanese restaurant- so expect Japanese style bento boxes and sashimi/sushi combos served with Korean banchan. There are private eating rooms with buzzers to let waitresses know when you are ready for their attention. The lunch menu is INCREDIBLY high value. We had delicious bento boxes (loved the sushi and tempura) for $16 which come with banchan, a large steamed egg, and complimentary porridge. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for delicious and reasonably priced food with nice atmosphere and service."

This is deep within a strip mall so you will not be able to see it from the street. Plenty of parking. They have a sushi station but I would avoid this. Most of the sushi has some type of pickle in it. Seems like you are eating pickles with rice. You can tell that the sushi is low quality ingredients and hastily made. I put it below grocery store sushi. They have a Hibachi station to cook all your food to order.The ribs tasted ok but I wish they were warmer. Same for the egg noodles. All the chicken dishes tasted great. I had too much food and I enjoyed it. Buffet and drink cost about $16."

My favorites were the Sake, Harami, O-Toro, and A5 Wagyu nigiris, and the Amaebi Ceviche Tostada. We also received complimentary soup that was made from Madai fish, and it was hands down the best soup I've had in a while. The broth was clean, yet rich in flavor; I'm convinced it could cure any cold! I also enjoyed the Matcha Sundae, but it was surprisingly very petite."

"Hayakawa is perhaps the closest representation of how Atlanta has transformed and matured over the years. From a low key and highly respectable strip mall establishment on Buford Highway for many years to what is likely the most expensive restaurant in the city. The incredible thing is that now, there is a clear market for such dining and the reservations are difficult to come by. For those living in the area for extended periods of time, that transformation of taste, market and willingness to splurge is both exciting and foreign. And on the note of splurging, it is absolutely no small feat to spend over $1200 here with some sake and wine to go along with the meal.With all that noted, Hayakawa is perhaps the closest thing in the city to dining at a similar establishment in Japan. It is highly personal, intimate and educational. The interactions with chef Atsushi "Art" Hayakawa are engaging throughout the dining experience. Explanations and stories of home provided by Monet provoke appetizing curiosity, whether discussing sake or wasabi. There is really no reason to dive into discussion of individual fish cuts, as they do vary, but one can be sure of their quality and elegance. There is no cutting corners and the fish slices served are very proportional to all other ingredients, most notably rice. Coming here is a lot more of a show than just a dinner and Chef Hayakawa delivers.Being a still new establishment, there are a few things that can still be noted to continue improvement, or Kaizen as known in Japan. The fact that there is no private restroom to the restaurant is a major inconvenience, as the building's restrooms are already quite dirty, despite lack of many tenants. It could also be a good touch to leave guests with a parting gift bag with a small item or even a dessert. The shibori napkin was given for guests to keep, yet since it was used throughout dinner, walking around with a dirty napkin after dinner seems a bit odd. While I cannot comment on the aspect of tradition here, it would be nice to get a new clean shibori to keep alongside some desserts and leave the one from dinner to be washed.Putting continuous improvement ideas aside, Hayakawa is already a remarkable place, has an incredibly unique vibe of being in Chef's home and creates an fun dining experience that sets an incredibly high standard."

Overall a pleasant roll that's not too crazy in ingredients nor taste.On the bayou roll: This was really different and tasty. The deep fried crayfish was definitely interesting. The little crayfish provided a nice crunch in texture with the spicy tuna. Although this roll appears to be crazy, it was a rather mellow. You pretty much taste the crayfish in all its dough glory.I would definitely come to Yokohama sushi again and try their abundant menu. There was a great deal of people around dinner time on a Friday evening so popularity at this place wasn't lacking by any means."
