Work & Class has been a Denver staple for a while now! When we went, our wait was short, our server was helpful and knowledgeable and the vibe of the restaurant was welcoming and casualwhat I ordered: blue corn empanadas, peppers five ways, Cajun deep-fried trout, smoked pork (with chipotle BBQ), lemon brown butter chicken, coriander roasted Colorado lamb, fried chicken (special at the time), bacon and goat cheese mashed potatoes, Cajun sweet potato fries, fontina mac & cheese, jalapeño cornbread muffins, biscuits with honey butter.WOW! The whole menu and I was not disappointed!best bite: Everything was awesome, but a few dishes totally stole the show: the coriander roasted Colorado lamb, the lemon brown butter chicken (sooo good!), Cajun deep brown trout, and peppers five ways... all were super fun, interesting, and delicious!

TLDR: If you like protein forward little but hardy bites this is of you! Food & Drink: - Lemon Pepper Chicken: Solid A- Coriander Roasted Lamb: A+ (get this)- Dirty Rice: B- Cocktails: C- (get beer or wine here)Vibe: Great place to take a group (if you can get in). What can be better?: I think it was my mistake for ordering a "cocktail" here. it's nit-picky I know but hey it's one place where they can improve. I think they drinks they offer go with the whole vibe, and it might be that there across the street from D&C but... yeah im being nit-picky :).

Happy hour drinks and a snack, on the patio. Narrow window for happy hour here, only 5-6 pm and busy! I read about the awesome BLUE CORN EMPANADAS on Yelp reviews and made a special trip just to try them. Stuffed with mushrooms and cheese with a delectable sauce, these empanadas could be one of the best appetizers ever! I love creative and gluten free snacks! Husband had the spicy chicken pot pie and a beer, I failed to get a picture of either! He scarfed down his appetizer with gusto. My cocktail was a lemonade color, light and breezy, but I couldn't tell you which one! I like their concept of choosing which liquor you prefer in the cocktails, more establishments should offer this easily customizable option!

We got lucky cuz we were there right at 5pm when they opened and were able to walk in. Otherwise it could be hard to get a seat. Menu is pretty straightforward with meats and sides . We had coriander Colorado lamb greens roasted veges and salad . Awesome spot!

Family style Southern food spot in 5 points downtown Denver! It's a Small little restaurant, that doesn't take reservations and has a simple little menu with some fun options. The indoor seating is fairly loud, tight quarters but it's great for a nice fill-you-up with a friend or two! We loved the lamb and Mac and cheese! The ginger carrot cocktail was an odd pairing but it worked and really was delicious! We tried the fried trout (warning- comes whole, eyes n all) & the greens too. I do wish we tried the fried chicken and short ribs.

Came here on a weekend with a few friends. Made a reservation a couple days before. We do have a friend with celiac disease so it was important to find a restaurant with options that she can eat. The food was out of this world. The sides were all shareable, so I recommend a few sides and then get a meat individually. The outstanding items were the mac and cheese and the biscuits! The chicken was also cooked very well. I did take off one star because of the crowding. This place was packed it was insanely hot in the middle of February. You could see the waiters struggling to maneuver around people. Also, because it is a small space filled with people it is very loud. Next time I will request to sit outside. Overall 4/5 stars!

Came at 5 pm on a Wednesday for early dinner and there was no wait. I tried a cucumber mint limeade with gin, then my boyfriend and I shared the jalapeño cornbread muffins, massive attack salad, 1/4 lb coriander roasted Colorado lamb and chickpea croquettes. Everything was pretty tasty and it was more than enough food for the two of us!

It was our first time here so we went pretty hard! We ordered a lot for the table just to try as much as possible, and had a ton of leftovers. Our waitress was great and checked on us throughout to make sure everything was OK. The restaurant is pretty small so they do communal dining to optimize space--we were at a six person table with another couple. To start, we ordered the empanadas and the lamb stew. The lamb stew was unique, you eat it with chips, and I liked the flavors. The empanadas were my favorite though, I literally could've eaten a bunch for dinner and just called it a night. For our entrées, we got one of the trout, and the braised short rib. It seemed obvious to me that the fish would be a whole fish, but just in case, please note that this bitch does have a face still attached. Lol. Honestly, both of our favorite part of the meal were the sides, we got mac & cheese, brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes, and a caramelized onion/greens side. The mac & cheese was insane, another thing I could've eaten for dinner on its own. But the vegetable dishes did not disappoint either! Apparently, they have a great happy hour, I would like to go back and experience that! I got one cocktail and I like that you can pick which spirit goes in-- I got the cucumber mint lemonade, and ordered it with rum.
