Rika M. "This is a plant-based vegan/vegetarian casual eatery that serves Asian fusion food. Until my new friend suggested this to be our little lunch get-together place the past Wednesday, I had no clue about its existence (or I had heard about it but the knowledge somehow fell into oblivion.) Therefore, I owe my friend huge thanks.I couldn't wait to dine here. I browsed the menu a few times online beforehand so that I wouldn't be so indecisive when I got here on the day of. Japanese Katsu Rice Bowl caught my attention but I thought I'd try to be spontaneous was my intention.I jinxed it. I got me the Katus Bowl when I got here. I mean at least that would be a great starter item to pick for my very first visit. My friend said what she likes about this place is that they serve food in a to-go container even if it's a dine-in. That way, people would not feel so obligated to finish all of their food; they can always take the rest home with them to avoid food waste. I kind of agree with this concept because both my friend and I could not finish our food as the portions here are pretty generous.I truly enjoyed my Katus Rice Bowl. At the first impression, the entire food looked salty (I simply dislike salty food.) I was wrong (and glad to be wrong!!.) Although there was a generous amount of tonkatsu sauce over the katsu part, it wasn't salty at all. And the veggies that were underneath the katsu were cooked to the perfect texture. In other words, they weren't soggy or too raw. This restaurant is surrounded by hospitals and medical offices. It must be very popular amongst those workers from those places. Although on a Wednesday that seemed typical, we were one of the few people who dined here during the peak noon lunch time. The lady at the ordering counter said that this place opened during the peak of the pandemic. I truly hope that they are getting enough foot traffic. For a restaurant that focuses on plant-based only food, they should get more accolades from people who prefer this type of diet. With that said, they have my utmost support for sure!! I'll definitely be back soon. I will try one of the noodle bowls at my next visit."

Miatsu K. "My wife, my girlfriend and I had dinner here tonight. It's only 1000 yards from my house so it was long past time to check it out. Plus, another Yelper was encouraging me to go. We got cleaned up and walked through the door about 5:30pm. We were not welcomed especially warmly. We were asked if we had a reservation and when we said no, there was some strained looks. Kind of felt like not having a reservation was inconvenient for them. It wasn't a huge deal but was more uncomfortable than it needed to be. We were seated at a beautiful table that was clean and tidy. We had our drink orders taken immediately and the drinks showed up within minutes. Very attentive and efficient staff. I ordered Shrimp Fra Diavola, my wife ordered spinach ravioli and our girlfriend ordered a veggie pizza. The pasta meals came with garlic twists and neither of us were especially impressed with the twists. They seemed stale and not especially flavorful. The main courses arrived ten minutes later and they were absolutely delicious. Mine was really spicy and did not disappoint. It was beautifully presented and the shrimp was fantastic. It was every very penny, and then some, of the reasonable price. My wife loved her spinach ravioli and said it was some of the better she has ever had. Freyja enjoyed her pizza and stated it was perfectly made. After dinner we ordered a pistachio cannoli and it was average at best. It was beautifully plated and presented but the shell was too hard to eat. It hurt my teeth. I wouldn't recommend it. Table service was flawless. Our glasses were never empty. Our server was pleasant, friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clean, nicely appointed and friendly. I really enjoyed the decor. All in all this was a very positive dining experience. I just wish we weren't made to feel like we were intruding in the first few seconds of our visit. The main courses made the entire trip worth it. They were exceptional and very high end."

Kelly K. "I must admit, I was skeptical before I tried Ooka. Their menu is HUGE and includes Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and all sorts of asian fusion. It makes you wonder what their real specialty is, but turns out, they do everything surprisingly well! Here's a few things I've ordered, all of which I have liked: - Sesame chicken (with white rice and steamed broccoli) - Dynamite Roll- Las Vegas Roll - yellowtail sushi- salmon sushi- potstickers - gyoza- veggie tempura- Thai Iced Tea I really haven't been disappointed by anything. You really can't go wrong with the sesame chicken, it's a great balance of light and crispy batter, tangy sauce with a little kick, and tender chicken within (though the broccoli could be steamed better). The dynamite roll is also, well, dynamite. It's a special roll with deep fried spicy salmon/eel/cream cheese combo. Great combo of sweet and spicy with a nice texture. The Las Vegas roll is also top shelf, which is lobster tempura, eel, cucumber, avocado within, and spicy scallops & mango on top. Again a really strong compliment of flavors and textures. I wouldn't call it my favorite sushi place in town (it's currently #2 but potential to take #1), but it is certainly my top overall "Asian" option. With so many options and consistency in taste + quality, I applaud the effort here and say keep it up!"

The black angus beef was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The TOASTED challah bun was pillowy and perfect vehicle for the beef, homemade sauce, and American cheese. Karin H. "Maine Shack is legit. Wonderfully light buttery rolls- filled with tender juicy Lobstah! I honestly haven't had a proper lobster roll this yummy since I moved away from Connecticut in my early twenties, (I'm 54). We ordered the medium sized brown butter and fancy lobster rolls, the roll size is the same, but medium has 4 oz of lobster, both of which were amazing. The fancy is lighter and lemony with light mayo, the brown butter, is rich and delectable. I might have groaned out loud. It is pricey, but the quality is excellent and we had plenty of lobster in our medium sized 4oz portion. Hours later and I'm still thinking about those lobster rolls. Yummy homemade potato chips too. Mmm!"

Rika M. "If someone said that this is/was a Michelin Star restaurant, I would believe it. French cuisine (in general) isn't something I frequently opt for when I am out for dinner with my family or friends. I haven't been to many French restaurants in Denver but I may be able to comfortably say that this is by far the best one I've ever been to.Ambience: Checked! The building looks inconspicuously unassuming meaning that it looks so small on the outside. But once you step inside and pass the bar area to the west side, you'll realize that it's got quite the space. And the decors are thoughtfully very French. Its cuteness compelled me to take photo after photo as we walk deep into the back of the restaurant. We sat all the way to the back of it (at the west end of it.)At 5pm on a beautiful Tuesday night, we were the second guest to arrive. It didn't take long before the restaurant reached 80-90% of its max capacity. Busy Tuesday night, I thought. Our waiter: Was Roger. He was efficient and professional. He focused on the task at hand. No small talk but sometimes that is the best. I was able to tell that he's been with the restaurant for a while due to his eloquence in his speech in explaining what the specials were etc.Wine: When I asked Roger about the House French Wine, he said it was a nice quality blend with some Garnacha in it. Sounded good to me. When he came back with the wine, I realized that there was a generous pour of it in a large red wine glass. And for the price of only $9, this is an amazing full-bodied wine. This is a must get if you are a red wine drinker. My daughter asked him for a suggestion which crepe we should get. He suggested Stroganoff. Along with that was the Vegetarian Dish du Jour (orzo pasta dish). We thought we'd split the two.Orzo pasta: This was impressively good. I mean the word "superb" may not describe the dish fully. We had nothing but utmost compliment to the chef who cooked it. Like I said, in my mind, this is a Michelin Star dish.Stroganoff crepe: If you are a meat lover, get this crepe. The garnished sour cream was a nice little touch added to the brown sauce that poured over the crepe. This was heavenly as well.We were so full after our meal. Although Roger brought us the dessert menu, we were simply too full to eat anymore. We decided to save that for our next dining. My daughter was so impressed with everything we had at Bon Ami tonight. As we were walking away from our table, she made a stop at the bar and bought a gift card for one of her friends as a holiday gift. As her friend is huge fan of French cuisine, she couln't help buying her a gift card so she herself can experience this exquisite and delightful French dining."

Maybe Nozomi isn't Udatsu, but the quality, presentation and service was as good--if not better--than any of our Chicago go-to's. Not many places make them like this. The ground beef are my favorite dripping with juices and filled with lettuce and fresh tomatoes. I love how each one is shaped different than any others because they are made fresh and by hand. I cannot get enough of these tacos. The bartenders and staff are always so cool and laid back. Make it a very comfortable place to have some good food, something to wash it down with and watch some sports on the TV in the bar. Steve was our bartender this last weekend and that dude is funny. I like his attitude. The location is great too right next to the Rockies stadium. Unlike other areas around here, they do have a private parking lot which is great if you can't parallel park like me. There's plenty of seating indoors. It's actually like half restaurant bites and half connivence store. The owners are so sweet and kind. They told us it would take a little longer for our food because they were baking a fresh hot batch of bread. A nice family owned spot. There's actually a lot of food options on the menu from rice plates to pho. However, I kept hearing about the banh mi so that was my choice. The banh mi is so delicious. We came in when they first opened so the bread was baked fresh and hot. The pate in the banh mi combo was delicious. The bread was flaky and crunchy just so good to have homemade baguette. The service was prompt. The prices are fair and the menu is simple and straight forward. Our friend suggested the sampler platter La Chiva Picada which included a generous assortment of Columbian items including plantains, chicken, potatos, rellena and 2 tasty dipping sauces. Next we ordered the Bistec and the Piscado. I LOVED the fish... a flaky fillet swimming in a creamy coconut broth. The steak was nice served with rice and patacones. The aesthetic was European with white brick, stucco, deep greenery, floral wallpaper, and chandelier & lantern lighting. The décor was beautiful. The staff of Villa were chic & professional; everyone was dressed to impress and quick to serve.Once we had our first round of drinks, we headed upstairs to the parlor. The parlor is where we ate dinner, got bottle service, and had various forms of entertainment wow us throughout the night. The parlor was outlined by green velvet booths and ivy walls. We found our reserved table and sipped on champagne and espresso martinis. A magician came around and performed some card tricks for us; he was amazing. Then it was time to eat some tapas. The Sugar Daddy (Sugar & Fire Steak) was made with NY Strip, chili piloncillo rub, and charred heirloom tomatoes. The steak was delicious, juicy, and had that rich flavor characterized by a NY strip. The chili piloncillo rub added a sweet molasses taste to the meat. The charred heirloom tomatoes added pops of robust citrus. The Octopus Ceviche was made with octopus, tomatillo, avocado, & red onion. The ceviche brought fresh and tangy flavors together with the combination of tender octopus, creamy avocado, and acidic tomatillo. A fabulous spring and summer dish. The Escabeche De Tomate was made with heirloom tomatoes, apple, Anaheim pepper, & red onion. The Escabeche De Tomate was vibrant in color and flavor - smoky, spicy & sweet. We had both kinds of empanadas, bison & pork. The Bison Empanadas were made with bison, olives, & egg. The Pork Empanadas were made with pork, chicken, & potatoes. The empanadas were savory and filling. The warm, flaky empanada pastries were piping hot and stuffed with pork or bison. I loved these. The Pork Belly Arepas were made with pork belly, pineapple, rajas, & queso asadero. Once we finished eating, it was time to party. We got bottles of champagne and danced the night away. I had passed by this restaurant umpteen times in the past. Why did it take so long before I finally got a chance to try it is definitely a question I asked myself today. It's okay; I patted my shoulder that I finally went to check it out today after many years of procrastination!!Kal (I mentioned earlier in this review) is hilarious! He, first of all, welcomed me as soon as I stepped in the restaurant like a peppy/talkative macaw! Once I knew what I wanted, I walked up to the register and told him my choice of plate. Unfortunately, the restaurant was about to close so he told me they had run out of the tabbouleh that was part of the plate. Too bad! I decided to go with one of the sandwiches (something easygoing) instead and a side of grape leaves dolma (4 pieces). While I was waiting for my food, Kal and I talked more. He asked me about my cultural background and this led us to talk about fresh seafood as I'm from Japan and he used to live in Boston. He definitely made me laugh; he entertained me like a stand up comedian! The food didn't take long. I waited for maybe 5 minutes at the tops. Kal said to order ahead (by calling in) next time and insisted me on taking the to-go menu as he truly wanted me to come back for the plate I couldn't get tonight. And the food?-Shawarma in a pita wrap (beef) was ridiculously delicious! The meat, lettuce and tomato were all impeccably marinated in the tzatziki sauce and is surprisingly so light despite the look of it. -Dolmas (4 pieces) - I've been to a similar restaurant where they serve dolmas and their dolmas were a bit too oily. This restaurant's dolmas are nothing like that. Perfect amount of oil makes their dolmas perfectly moist. This is now my go-to place for dolmas when I get a craving for it.
