Wood's Chapel BBQ

Holy delicious Batman!!! LOVE that they answer all my gluten questions and I have never had a reaction eating there!! One of my go-to lunch places (since I work on that side of town) but I bet it is fun on the weekend. Great outdoor seating area. The mustard sauce is magic!! Smoked wings! Sausage! Potato Salad!SOOOO Yummy!!

We went to Wood's Chapel BBQ on a lark while walking through Atlanta's Summerhill neighborhood looking for somewhere to eat. It was a very hot and quiet Sunday afternoon, so most folks were not out and about.We found the staff friendly and the food interesting and tasty. While our preference is always a meat hot-off-the-fire type of BBQ without any fusion, we found their food to be delicious and would return if in the area and wanting some upscale BBQ.

The service was fast and food was out very quickly! It was not too busy when I went, which was around 3 pm on a Friday. There was a sauce bar with different kinds of BBQ, Hot Sauce, mustards, etc.The food was yummy and the portions were pretty big! The sides were all really tasty, with my favorite being the Pork Beans! I am also not usually big on Mac and Cheese, but this Mac and Cheese was SO good!The slushies were very very yummy, and they definitely did their job! Both the Margarita and the Seasonal Raspberry flavors were tasty, and you can't go wrong with either one!There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and this place has a vibe that would be great for a weekend hangout with friends!

The quality of the food is a C- at best. However, what really stands out is how poor the customer experience is, especially for a non-fast food establishment. When you walk in, even though it's not busy, the staff walks by without even acknowledging you. It was our first time, and we were clearly unfamiliar with the setup. After figuring it out on our own, we went to the cashier, who looked absolutely miserable, as if it was a burden to even be there. To top it off, we were charged for fountain water. This was our first visit, and it will definitely be our last. The management seriously needs to address these unprofessional behaviors. Without good service, it doesn't matter how good or cheap the food is - and, frankly, it's neither. In addition, you should not automatically charge your customers for tips, you need to earn it and this visit was definitely not earned!

I was in the mood for a Cuban sandwich when I discovered Wood's Chapel BBQ has a "Cue-Bano" which had your typical ingredients but with smoked pork instead. The smokiness adds a nice, touch that offers a welcomed alternative to an already perfect sandwich. My favorite item I ordered were the "sticky" ribs which I believe are fried and dressed up with Korean flavors. So so good.I have to come back and try some more offerings.

Great atmosphere. A huge place. I bet this place is packed in the evenings with families and neighborhood regulars! The smell is coming out of the restaurant were tempting. I find it to be decent size menu with options for everyone. Today I tried the brisket sandwich and the kale Caesar salad for lunch. Since it was Sunday, I optedfor froze. The brisket sandwich bun was tasty and was full of meat !! So flavorful. The salad was tasty. I need to try this at home the Froze could've been better. It was lacking in my opinion. I won't buy that again. However, I will be back for the brisket and the friendly service.

A great, laidback place to meet with friends, catch a drink and have some good eats. Unpretentious, which is beginning to become a rarity in the immediate area.

Of all the restaurants I ate at on my trip to Atlanta, I think this was my favorite. BBQ was certainly on the list of things we needed to eat and Wood's Chapel BBQ satisfied. We came on a Tuesday afternoon for a later than usual lunch. It's nice and spacious. You order at the front then seat yourself. We ordered the pick two meat plate with chopped beef brisket, jalepeno & oaxaca cheese sausage, creamed corn, and mac and cheese. We also ordered some tortillas on the side. The meats were both delicious and unique. Sometimes BBQ is too dry and this was moist and tender. The mac and cheese was delicious too. The creamed corn seemed unique but I felt it lacked flavor. The tortillas were very surprising in that they were very good. I wouldn't have expected that! We just ordered it for the baby lol. The banana pudding was unique and a perfect way to end the meal. I think the secret is... they use nilla wafers and biscoff cookies in their layers. It was a real nice touch that I'm going to take with me.You've gotta stop here if you're in Summerhill!

Was in the area and gave this place a try after work. It's a large, open area concept with a rustic vibe. They also patio seating and additional seating in the back. Additional parking is across the street in an empty lot, very short distance, just across the street.Now, on to the food. I ordered the vegetarian nachos with the spicy sauce on the side. You do have the option to add meat for an additional price but if you're feeling meatless, you won't miss the meat I promise. The drink is a blueberry mocktail. Very delicious and I highly recommend. This area is surrounded by other restaurants, appears to have a great date night or socializing vibes so I would recommend.

I had the brisket nachos, collard greens, Mac n cheese and corn bread.Nothing to write home about. The greens were not finished. This is unusual for me. I've never ever tasted the level of sweet in these greens. The Mac had the same cheese as the nachos. I might go to try meets only as I love burnt ends. Disappointed.
