William Oliver's Publick House - Lafayette

Now, there are certain places, certain establishments that you come across in life, and they just work. They do things right, and they have a kind of order that resonates with your expectations of what a truly enjoyable experience should be. William Oliver's Public House is one of those places.I stopped in with my wife, originally drawn by her desire for one of their famed hotdogs. Simple enough, right? But here's the twist: once seated, she changes her mind. Suddenly, the pork belly sandwich is calling to her, and what do I do? I adapt. I seize the opportunity for something greater, as one must in life. I ordered a flight of whiskey and, because balance is important, two hotdogs. That's right, not one, but two.And what a lunch it was. The whiskey flight was carefully curated, a harmonious balance of flavors, each sip a reminder of the richness that a well-executed life can offer. The hotdogs? Exemplary. A bold, hearty dish, packed with flavor, yet simple in its presentation, like all great things should be. My wife's pork belly sandwich was equally delightful, a decision that I, of course, fully supported.This place has mastered the art of creating an environment that fosters both comfort and quality, a sanctuary for the modern individual seeking something more in life, whether it's a whiskey flight or a well-prepared hotdog. I can't recommend William Oliver's Public House enough. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. You might just discover something you didn't know you were looking for.

Great place for drinks. True to its name everything inside is setup for socializing with drinks and food. The beer and whiskey collection inside is awesome I had their hummus plate and tried Irish whiskey shot and IPA beer.

Do yourself a favor and enjoy a custom cocktail and some good food right in downtown Lafayette!Thursday night just before a holiday weekend and the place was hopping, only seating was a high top in the bar. Drinks were tasty and the food was solid. Hummus plate appetizer - the roasted red pepper hummus was the best I've had and the warm pita triangles - perfection! The Sweet Chili Tacos - get them loaded - were also a pleasant surprise. Yes they were sweet but in such a flavorful way that I could not help but eat all 3! The jackfruit sandwich is a great veggie option with a side salad. Service was good - friendly and knowledgeable and we got a card for our next visit - a free flight of the month or piece of pie. How can you go wrong with that?

Place is dope. If you like whiskey, must go. Service is always stellar. Big long tables to share

Soo much better than the strip-shopping exterior would imply! The Bacon-Wrapped Jalepenos were spicy (duh!), but crisp and very tasty! The Cajun Bar Nachos came in a bowl; required a fork to eat it. Two of our party tried pulled-pork entrees, and were pleased. The Getting Piggy With It & The Hammer were both excellent entree choices!! Good variety of whiskey flights and beers. My Irish Smash Lemonade (house drink) was fantastic; light enough for a warm day, with a breezy flavor. (No whiskey aftertaste!). Highly recommend you try this place!

Ok. I will come back. Love the vibe. Great cocktails. 5 star cocktails and service. Cool little menu. Ordered William Oliver's (Slaw) Dog Feta coleslaw, jalapeno ranch, capers, and cajun spice on a poppy seed bun. Great idea. The hotdog was not cooked through. Cold in the middle. Ordered Mac and cheese with it as well. It was not hot. For those reasons I give it 3 stars. Poor execution on the food!

The place is nice to hang out, the food is quite expensive for the amount of portions you get, I didn't love this place, service was ok not over the top

Good food and great ambiance! Wait staff were not the most friendly but the did a good job. My favorite was the pretzels but they were out of the mustard to dip. I had to ask for regular mustard because the cheese sauce was tasteless.

This is one of my favorite places. Food is so good,Love the atmosphere and great service! Don't change!

The ambiance is great and the server was really nice and attentive. I got the Bossy Pig and the portion size would not feed a child and was pretty bland. My wife got the Sweet Chili Tacos the corn tortillas were cold and uncooked, the cabbage was cut large and the sweet chili sauce was cold and out of a bottle. All and all a very sad experience. Skip this place and go down the street to get better food and drinks.
