Vollmer's Bakery & Cheesecake Factory

Before you read my stunning, amazing, (some would say James Joyce like) review.Before you salivate at those lovely pictures of creamy delicious flavored cheese cakes.Before you think "who in the hell is this delusional yelper think he is?": Sorry too much wine last night.....This is a factory store of sorts that has some cheesecakes on hand. It is not your Typical bakery. What they have is what you will get. There is a freezer in the front with stock...but if you want that luscious Key lime cheesecake and they didn't make them....Welp Sweetie you be outta luck.Don't get me wrong their flavors are awesome. And their Cheesecakes? They are pretty dam good. Creamy filling. Lovely Graham Cracker crust....it is yum.I went on a lark ( because of the yelp reviews). And whilst I was underwhelmed with the selection and the ambiance of the place. The service was FANTASTIC. The young lady that helped me was a pure delight to interact with.So to make a short story long. I picked up a 10" plain cheesecake for a Bday party...and the consensus was YUM.Would I come back ...or more importantly, my lovely and most deserving Yelp reader? YES...but my 2 cents of advice would be to call them and see what they have in stock. You can also try and order something but that is not guaranteed. You know economy of scale or whatever that rubbish is.

So full transparency the only reason I didn't give Vollmer's 5 stars is because of how hard it was to get a hold of them. (And honestly I almost dropped the score down to a 3 because of it) I have read all over online how Vollmer's is the best cheesecake in Denver, and this is the second year in a row that I reached out to them to try and get a cheesecake for my fiancé for his birthday (it's his fav!). Both years I had followed their protocol on their website and tried calling and emailing them to try and place my order. I only ended up getting a hold of them because I had reached out to a sister company about cheesecakes and they helped get me in contact with them. Once I finally got in touch with the owner she was so helpful and friendly! I told her what I needed and she had it saved for me until I was able to come and pick it up. The actual storefront does not seem like a bakery at all but is instead in a warehouse like building in an industrial park. (It seems like they are prepped for more wholesale sales) And all of their cheesecakes are premade and come as is, which is frozen and pre sliced. (Bonus, prices are as is. No tax was added when I made my purchase) Per the owners recommendation I let the cheesecake defrost in the fridge for a full day before serving. We served it at the birthday party and everyone was floored with how delicious the cheesecake was. We had gotten an Oreo cheesecake and it was insanely good. I was also shocked with how fresh it had tasted being that it was frozen and not fresh. But clearly they know what they're doing over at Vollmer's! I wonder if I would be able to just walk into the storefront next time instead of going through the hassle of ordering ahead. But if you're looking for some insanely good cheesecake, look no further than Vollmer's!!

Chocolate is my weakness. The bakery also caters to individuals. We got a chocolate cake and a ganache torte. It was deliscious.... amazing.... so deliscious. There are personal sized cakes, so you don't have to get a huge one....but, totally OKAY! If you do get a large one. This place is dangerously close to my house.

As you drive here, it feels like you're going nowhere. It's in an industrial park of town, north of Cole, a little confusing to get to. From what I gathered, Vollmer's makes cheesecakes that are sold to King Soopers and other grocery stores. This place just has certain flavors on hand but I don't think it's a set list everyday. I went with an open mind and just needed a cheesecake for my boyfriend's birthday. It was easy, quick, and delicious!!

No brainer. Some of the best foreign or quirky pasties you can find out there. Nice place to go. Just check their hours before the drive over there.

I think Vollmer's needs to update their website. It leads one to believe that the factory location on Grape Street in Denver sells to the public. We were just there earlier today, and we were told that they do not sell to the public at that location. If they did in the past, they have changed their policy. However, a very pleasant young woman unlocked the front door for us and gave us a cheesecake of our choice from a freezer case near the front entrance. We selected a strawberry cheesecake from those that were available. We have each had a slice and it is delicious, so it was not a trip halfway across town for nothing,Disclaimer: I'm not at all sure they would give everyone who rings their doorbell a free cheesecake. I'm thinking the one we received was probably a sample. I have no idea who their retailers are. So 4 stars for the cheesecake itself, and minus one star for the confusion on their website. Apparently you can order their products online, but I'm not sure where you would pick them up.

Top quality cakes and cheesecakes! Two helped me, both very professional and polite. Highly recommend checking this bakery out.

This is a Denver/Colorado staple. I usually purchase their items in King Soopers but needed some special items for the holidays. Here is my breakdown.1) Key lime cheesecake gets 5 stars. Limey, creamy, thick, delicious with yummy crust. 2) Pumpkin cheesecake gets 2 stars. Costco's is FAR superior in flavor and texture. Vollmer's was gooey and lacked flavor. 3)Chocolate Flourless tort/tarte gets 5 stars. It is creamy and very chocolatey. 4) Pecan Pie gets 3 stars. It's pecan pie but after eating Chocolate Bourbon Pecan pie from Humble Pie, it is hard to please me. I will definitely return to Vollmers for key lime cheesecake and continue to purchase various items from K.S.

I was incredibly disappointed in Vollmers "Bakery." Not from Denver i searched for a bakery that made cheesecakes and found Vollmers bakery online. Having read their website I decided to order cheesecakes from them for my son's graduation. The website is very deceiving. I assumed this was an actual bakery and the cheesecakes would be freshly made. I was wrong. The location is on the outskirts of town in an industrial park, and the sign outside the factory read "Vollmers Cheesecake Factory Outlet." There was no store front. We rang a door bell and a woman came to the door and retrieved our cheesecake boxes from a refrigerator in the lobby. Then she told us payment was cash only. After my husband and I thankfully cobbled together what cash we had on hand we paid and left. She failed to tell me that the cakes had been frozen so I didn't give them enough time to thaw before serving them. The cakes were also wrapped in plastic and looked and like they had been mass produced. I mistakenly assumed they would be freshly made that morning, or even the day before. I was very disappointed given the special occasion. Had I known this wasn't an actual bakery I would have ordered from anywhere else. The whole experience was disconcerting and disappointing. I was glad I didn't go alone to pick up the cakes. Lastly, IMHO they just weren't good. Save yourself the drive and go elsewhere.
