OMGOSH. I'm so glad my coworkers told me to visit Valentino's. They've been in the Food Truck Rotation at The Crescent for a while now, but when I looked at their menu, I thought it seemed a bit plain. Well, I was so wrong. Seven of us gathered orders and I made the trek out to get our lunch. Since we were all new to the truck, we went with their Steve-O and each chose different sides. A meatball sandwich might sound boring (it did to me), but Valentino's is far from it. The meat is juicy and there was just the right amount of sauce on it. A lot of times, I find that the meat is just drenched in marinara. Then the garlic bread it's on. Yes. Let me get to my favorite part: PALE ALE POPPERS. I am a spicy food fanatic. The poppers totally hit the spot. They are spicy though, so beware! I loved it. The pulled pork that's stuffed in it was a great touch. One of my coworkers shared her zucchini bites with me. I thought they'd be boring...I mean zucchini is usually bland. But wow, the spices they have on that stuff. Awesome. The vote was unanimous, we are definitely visiting when Valentino's is in the area again. Also, the staff was super nice and helpful. As you can imagine, carrying seven plates is difficult. Usually, I'm trying to figure out how to open my car door. They emptied a box for me and stuffed it silly. Great people, great food.

Food Truck Time: Valentino's at Southern Peak BreweryI've had this food truck in the past and unfortunately am not a fan of it. We tried the Steve-O meatball hero, deep fried ravioli and 2 small cannoli's this time. A small cannoli was only $1/each so I really enjoyed that. The other menu items that we tried were okay but too unhealthy for me. The service was friendly so that was pleasant.

I cannot give Steven Valentino, his team, and his food enough praise. We had the truck out for our wedding, and the guests didn't stop raving about the food and experience. Absolutely delicious options and an awesome guy running the show. 100% recommend for any event or wherever you can find this truck around town! My wife and I will definitely be finding any opportunity to book more events with Valentino's.

I got the Karen's Shrimp Parm Hero and it was PERFECTION. The sandwich wasn't heavy but just filling enough. I could've eaten three more of them and not gotten sick of it. The garlic bread was toasted and really complemented the shrimp. I will be getting the same thing again very soon.

Maybe we were too late in the evening to get a decent meal but all that was left were fried options. We had fried tater tots with pesto, fried Jalapenos with meat and then fried Mozzarella sticks. It went fine with the beer at Compass Rose but I did want more of a substantial meal like a meatball sandwich that was not fried. Service was nice and they explained that they had to sort of re-group and take inventory as they came up with some more menu items on a Friday night at around 8pm at a brewery. The menu items are listed on a board outside of the truck.

I first crossed Valentino's path at Lonerider when they played host to a pechakucha fundraiser. I had just eaten and didn't have my appetite with me (and I'll confess, I wasn't sure about Italian food served from a truck) but I remember eying the other yelpers' dishes with curiosity. Today I had the opportunity to give it a go myself at the Big Boss Food Truck Harvest. Got there early at 6 and beat the crazy long lines -- food turnaround was only 5 minutes! I ordered the Betty Melt which was a grilled sammie with provolone, mozzarella and blue cheese, topped with bacon, and served up with chips and a pickle for $8. It came out hot and gooey, the beer bread pressed and wrapped in foil to keep the heat in. I liked it, but it was a little too much cheese (and I like cheese!), so I was glad to be able to split it with hubby. The chips are the sturdy ridged kind (yum) and the pickle spear had a little vinegar spike to it. The menu had some other goodies like onion rings and The gal taking orders -- Christina -- was really friendly. I wish them well! Nice to have this different food truck among a herd of burgers and tacos.

Can you think of any situation that cannot be fixed by a fresh batch of piping hot Jalapeno poppers, dipped in pale ale beer batter, filled succulent barbecue meat and gooey yummy cheese, serves with Sweet Chili or Ranch? No. I don't think so either.I believe the first time I had Valentino's delicious food was last year's St. Paddy roundup at Big Boss. So silly, at the time I was chasing after KoKyu's infamous duck fat tots, and once I was disappointed and turned away I happened upon Vs, and that was a perfect union in waiting. You would think that mobile Italian food couldn't be anything more than pizzas right? But this not an "one trick" truck. Besides the "world famous" poppers, Vs also some giant meatballs, slowly stewed in tomato sauce, serves up with garlic bread freshly made inside the truck oven. Garlic knots are this man's specialty. It is so soft and garlicky and mouth-watering, often I consider converting to glutenism and live off these garlic knots for the rest of my life.Every so often they will have some specialty items that is not on the regular menu; the other night at Big Boss, we had this steak Philly sub that was unlike what we have tasted. Also last night we got the first taste of the new creation - Molly Repa. I would tell you more, but it's an experience best tasted than told. So if you haven't had Vs, chase down that red white and green logo and get a bite of il cielo italiano.

So....food trucks are hit or miss...we all know it. Short stop in Raleigh before a flight. I get a recommendation for Lonerider Brewing Company (separate review). 1.5 beers in, I need some grub. I decide on Karen's Shrimp Parm Hero. BOOM! Just awesome! Filling, flavorful, and shrimp is cooked perfectly. I am just sad they don't serve in my hometown in Colorado.

My favorite food truck! Love the poppers! Love the meatballs! Stop it with the brisket! And the canolis! Can't be beat!I may be addicted but the soups I've had were great! And the eggplant! Obviously I haven't had anything that was less than great! If you see the truck - stop & try it, you won't be disappointed!!!

My partner and I stopped here for dinner since they were parked outside of Fullsteam, and I'm glad we did!We ordered, went into Fullsteam and by the time we got a beer it was ready. He got the Brisket Sandwich. Because he's lactose intolerant and didn't have a pill he had a decline the cheese and the garlic butter, but even without that it was excellent. The brisket was moist and flavorful all on it's own and they made a garlic oil in place of the butter to cut the dairy, which I thought was a nice thing they didn't have to do. Bread was crusty on the outside and soft in the middle without scratching up the roof of your mouth. I got the Chicken Parmesean Hero the way it comes (well I guess I did add pepper flakes) and I was not disappointed. No shock of it being chicken, marinara and cheese but somehow not tasting like Chicken Parm. Very tasty. So, to wrap up. This place is awesome and worth trying. Do it!
