As long as I've lived in Philly and even as a former employee at the hotel I've never actually had a seated dinner at Urban Farmer. It was a calm Friday evening and we were able to have an intimate dining experience. The cornbread starter was delicious. I knew from my takeout days that I had to have the fingerling potato tart and it was just as delicious as I remembered. Creamy potatoes baked into a pastry shell with cheese and dolloped with sour cream. We also got the cauliflower au gratin. That side fell a bit short as cauliflower can be hard to cook if you don't remove the water. The dish was swimming in liquid once you pierced beneath the cheesy top so we just ate a bit to say we had a veggie and that was that. My steak was absolutely perfect though. Immaculately cooked to the perfect temperature, the delicate yet flavorful crust on the steak needed no accoutrements to be a 10/10 all on this own. My partner enjoyed his chicken dish and ate every bite.

There's nothing I love more than posting a positive review. Unfortunately I can't do it here.I ordered a Caesar salad and the steak tartare. That having been said, I'm always suspect about ordering steak tartare in the US because it is rarely done well. Tonight underscored that fact.I asked for it to be served a little spicy, typically when that's done there is a spice or two added to the process.When it arrived, it was not spicy, the wait staff was very willing to get me some bland tasteless horseradish that must've been in the jar for six or eight months (nothing fresh or spicy). But they tried.Upon tasting the steak tartare, it was so salty it was almost too much to take. Although sometimes salt is good when it's overdone, it is not.At that point, I was waiting for my server to ask me what I thought because frankly, it wasn't very busy. Through the process of my dinner nobody inquired how my food was or if I needed anything else while other individuals were being asked that by their servers. I guess I didn't matter, or at least that's how I felt.When the bill came again, nobody inquired. It wasn't until after the bill had been paid that another server asked me how my meal was at which point I expressed my displeasure. To his benefit, he offered me a coffee, but at 9:30 at night. The last thing I need is a coffee.I will definitely stay at this hotel (the Logan) again because it's a beautiful property. However, the next time I will most likely make a different choice when it comes to my dining options.very sad about this experience

Ok so we arrived and we were seated promptly. The restaurant had very few patrons and we basically had pick of the seating. The waitress was polite and made recommendations which was very nice.First drinks. They were very expensive but fine dining just charges more. The drinks were tasty I must say. We ordered like 4 different types of drinks and all were very good. The cornbread that came while we had drinks was a nice touch. Next, we ordered sides to come out since we couldn't decide on any one or two apps to share. We got the creamy spinach and the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was very delicious. However, the spinach was not so good. It had a weird consistency and was an unappetizing looking greenish hue. We mentioned it to the waitress but she kind of shrugged it off and said it wasn't her favorite either. So she took our orders and we got steak ( medium rare) and salmon( medium). When the steak came out for my gf she cut into it and it was rare. Almost to the point of it being undercooked. When we told the waitress she took it to the back. To our surprise all they did was put the steak back in and cooked it more. They actually threw out the piece that was cut from the end. Now we had undercooked steak and a piece of it on the ends that were over cooked. The inside was cooked perfectly but I feel the experience of ordering a high end steak was gone. I couldn't believe that with all of the competition in the city of great restaurants, they would just re -cook the same steak. I expect that at Applebee's but not at a steak restaurant in the city. For my meal, the salmon was cooked perfectly. Presentation: The place is decent looking. The seats are somewhat comfortable. The lighting is good. As for the food... Let's talk about the steak again... That is all that was on this gigantic plate. Just a piece of steak. No glaze, nothing but the undercooked steak. Getting plates a bit smaller would probably help with the look of this lonely piece of moo moo meat. All in all , with all the places in the city to eat, this will be the last one I go back to. I cannot recommend this place at all. I spent well over 200 bucks here and my experience was subpar. For a couple that doesn't have lots of time to get out for dinner and drinks, it's sad that the one time a month we do get a chance it is just a subpar experience. I've honestly would have had a better experience going to a local bar and getting bar food.

Came here for breakfast. My husband and I ordered the brioche French toast which was great!! Big fan of the light airy french toast with berry compote. It also comes with almond praline butter, I ordered it on the side and didn't need it nor the syrup. The restaurant had a large indoor seating areas as well as outdoors but the outdoor seating set up. The service was slow, especially for only a few tables in the restaurant.

Stopped by on a Friday night with a large group of people. We were seated in a profitâtes sinon room that was very nice and the service was very a tentative. I ordered the strip steak which was cooked perfectly but could have used some more salt to season and it came with sides of mashed potato's and Mac and cheese was delicious. For dessert the group was served individual Grand Mariner soufflés which were also delicious. The negative to the night was the heat. It was sweltering hot and when asking to turn on the AC we were told it wasn't working and nothing could be done. It out a damper on the Entire night since it was very uncomfortable. Hoping the AC was a one time ordeal since the food was very good and would return to try more food options.

Urban Farmer Philadelphia is such a great brunch restaurant! Came here for an early morning brunch with the a friend. While we didn't have reservations, we had no issue getting a table for 2. While the area is busy, you should have no issue finding parking or getting dropped off by an Uber.The restaurant wasn't busy but it has an airy feel to it. There's multiple windows that let the light in. Everyone working there are super nice and helpful. The brunch menu is pretty extensive with various types of dishes. I ended up ordering the Farmers eggs any style while my friend ordered the French toast. My dish came with eggs, bacon, potatoes and the home made biscuit. Everything was delicious! The hand made biscuit was hands down my favorite since you could tell it was freshly made. Highly recommend for any party size!

Great brunch spot - we came here on a Saturday and the restaurant was pretty full. Managed to snag a seat in the bar area and the service was quick and attentive. I ordered the short rib hash and I tasted the freshness of the ingredients. The sauce was just a tad salty but the ribs were cooked to perfection. Overall nice restaurant and especially convenient if you are staying in the hotel.

We just stopped in for drinks while walking around the city and stumbled upon this spot! The steak sampling looks awesome and we will absolutely be back to try some food. Great service, clean establishment - if you're near the Art Museum it's a close walk!

Prices a bit too pretentious for good food - Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my 2 hour experience at this establishment, but I feel the price for the food might be a bit much for good, not great, food. Pros:Staff are very friendly and courteous!The vibe is up to you -- romantic, chic, trendy, and casual. All different types of groups there! Desserts ---- we couldn't get enough! Delicious!Cons:Prices - $$$ and sides sold separate. Time frame - 2 hours for the whole meal. A bit longer than I'm used to with my family of four. We didn't order appetizers either.
