Urban Farmer Denver

This was my first time dining at a farm-to-table restaurant, and it was truly unforgettable! The Old Fashioned cocktails were expertly crafted, exactly how a classic Old Fashioned should taste.The steaks were perfectly cooked--juicy and tender, with a beautifully pink center for a spot-on medium. The asparagus was done just right, with a vibrant color and perfect texture.The chili served with blue cornbread as an appetizer was a delightful touch.Despite how busy the restaurant was when we visited, the service was extraordinary and top-notch.The ambiance of both the dining area and the bar was captivating.I highly recommend dining here!

Came across this restaurant while walking around Denver and what a little find. From the staff to the ambiance, all very impressive. All of the food is made fresh including the breads. For an appetizer we ordered the slow roasted pork belly...yum! And for dinner I ending up ordering a hamburger which isn't on the dinner menu but I saw it come out of the kitchen and was able to change my order with no problem. The burger bun was made fresh and was very tasty.I have to say I was most impressed by the fact that a variety of staff stopped by our table to take care of us. It didn't have to be our specific server. While my husband left the table for the men's room a different server approached our table, took his cloth napkin and refolded it into a beautiful shape right in front of me. The little things can just mean so much.Unfortunately, we had a couple of loud large parties and the noise carries throughout the entire restaurant.

Hmmmm....we had company in town who's not able to get bison in their area, so we found that the Urban Farmer was known for their steaks, including bison steaks. Six of us were dining, and some of us split entrees and salads.The reviews from my guests we're as follows. The bison porter house was good, a little over cooked, and nearly $100 for just the steak? Same with the beef ribeye, it had a nice char and cooked as ordered, but $78 for 16 ounces? The filet was just okay, as was the duck breast. $18 for mushrooms, they were unique, but $18.00? Same with the potato puree...$13.00? With a bottle of wine, 4 sides, 3 salads, 4 entrees and 3 deserts, the bill was $550.00Our waiter Nick was over the top, top notch...thanks for the wonderful experience, Nick.We had a good time, but the food was just not worth the price. With all the other choices in Denver, we will try somewhere else next time.

Came here for dinner after work for seven of us. Nice decor and very spacious seating. Services really good and attentive. Prices are definitely a little more expensive but pretty cool that they serve Farm fresh steak to dinner table from local farmers. we had a bunch of appetizers, including the tartare, the cheese board, shrimp, asparagus, mac and cheese. I had the steak sampler which included three separate 5 ounce New York steak from different farms. But honestly, all three of them tasted similar. It was very good steak. We also ordered some bottles of wine. I was pleased with the dinner experience.

Brunch was amazing! Our server was fantastic, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was calming. Great restaurant. we will come back and try dinner next!

Had a really fun time at urban farmer. Service was great but the food was just not. Got the signature sirloin trio, a highly recimmenddd house salad , drinks and dessert. Standout for sure were the drinks and dessert. The salad was beautiful and had great ingredients but the dressing was flat and in bad need of some acid as well as seasoning. It was a massive salad that wasn't enjoyable to eat unfortunately. My steak was tough and slightly overdone. I hate going to fancy restaurants when you feel like you could have done a way better job at home and that's how I felt about my meal there and unfortunately won't return.

Far too expensive for what the kitchen is producing! The server hyped the bison over the beef, do I decided to give it a try. Regretfully, it fell far short of my expectations. The center was really the only part that was tender enough to chew, or even cut. Potatoes were bland, pork belly was undercooked and not crispy enough. The restaurant is in a beautiful historic building (which you will be charged for on the bill) and the server was friendly, but the food just fell short. The steaks are going to run in the $70 to $100 range & the bison, a little higher. The roasted chicken was a mess...

Steak sampler - 9/10. The steak had just the right amount of seasoning. I ordered it medium rare and it was right on point. I would say it is definitely on the pricey end. Sides - Mac and cheese 8/10, corn 8/10, asparagus 9/10, twice baked potatoe tart 7/10. All of the sides had an unique taste to them but wasn't worth the price. If I were to choose one, I'd choose the asparagus.

Wish I could do 3-1/2 stars for this place. The hits were hits, but the misses were big. The Pork Belly was absolutely fantastic, as were two of the three steak tastings. One of the steak tasting was pretty tough and wasn't rendered the way you'd expect. The green beans were disappointing and the potato puree (not pictured, they came out much, much later than the rest of the food) were completely bland and didn't have the slightest hint of seasoning. I think this place is worth another shot- it's a lovely setting and a great spot for dinner or a happy hour- but I'll definitely try some other dishes next time.
