Not sure about all of the negative reviews... For the price point and the wide selection of seafood for an AYCE Buffet, this was such a great deal. If you are expecting top tier quality in your food, buffets are not it.We went on Mother's Day, was so packed even early for dinner, but we got seated in less than 10 minutes. The place itself felt too close together so it was hard to use the walkways with constant traffic. My biggest complaint is not even in the buffet itself, but the people! For example - the top commodities like stir fried ginger & scallion lobster had the greediest people taking a whole full plate of the best portions of the lobster and it was gone within minutes. To realistically expect the restaurant to be able to keep up with demand is crazy. Maybe there's a better process than allowing people to get so much at once? Minor complaints is I wish some of the seafood was served hot or their lamps kept them hot... like the mussels and clams. Overall, really enjoyed the lobster, snow crab legs, the oyster (was cleaned pretty well, but gone often) and the DRINKS! Passion fruit tea and Taro milk tea were delicious. Small things like the Ice cream was Blue Bunny so definitely more quality than other traditional buffet ice cream.

New Seafood AYCEHonestly, I was surprised by the selection at the buffet. There is soooo much to choose from and as of April 27, the crawfish is BIG. From soup, hibachi, crab, crawfish, sashimi, whelk, to oxtail, the selection had plenty of variety and most were pretty tasty. Being a buffet, it's probably not going to be top of the line food. However, I'd say the value is definitely worth it. Highly recommend all to try. The service is also fast and friendly.

Came back for dinner on a weekday because I had a craving for snow crab legs. There was luckily no wait! Come to find out they were serving live crawfish! Frozen crawfish is the standard for Chinese buffets, and they are often mushy, grey, and unappetizing. These were clean, big, and juicy! They are served in both a Cajun style and a spicy Asian style. The Asian style was far superior and very tasty. While I came for snow crab legs, I spent just as much time consuming crawfish this time. Another new addition were stone crabs, though they were disappointing and troublesome to get to the little meat. The coconut shrimp was another tasty surprise that I really enjoyed. They fixed the overly sweetened teas and fruit drinks. They were much more yummy this time around, with the fruit tea being the best!Skipped the sushi and sashimi this time, and I didn't have the gastro distress like the last time. Though on ice, I don't feel like it turns over fast enough, and most of it ends up sitting there untouched for hours. I was seated by the sushi, and I didn't see the traffic I was hoping for. There was no waiting for snow crabs or lobster this time around. There was plenty to go around. The weekday experience is so much better than the weekend experience. At over $40 after tax, it's pretty hefty, but if you can eat your weight in seafood, it's well worth it.

I was heading back home from work today and my family wanted to eat out for today. We are always unsure where to go but ultimately decide to try Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet. I know the restaurant has been a good discussion among family and friends to visit.Walking in the restaurant layout was definitely nice. Well lit and lots of variety. There are options besides the seafood and sushi options. I picked a variety of choices first go around with the pork belly, lamb chops, spinach with cheese and others. Of course the other plates for the sushi and seafood portion with the rolls, sashimi and nigiri. Dessert was a selection too with yogurt, banana pudding, jello, ice cream cups and what was surprising to see tiramisu, cheesecake and flavored milk teas and drinks. I definitely say variety is not a problem at Umi for sure. Our server was attentive and friendly for sure. When we were finishing on plates he was close by to help with that and refilling the hot tea. Overall I like the visit to Umi Sushi & Seafood buffet. But I do have some takeaway points with my experience. The food was great in the selection not every other buffet would around the city. It definitely was a surprise for me. But this is where that can be a double edged sword thought. What might deter people from thinking of coming in often would be the price. You will have to consider it before stopping in:Are you willing to pay for a bit of out of the ordinary selection with a price that reflects that?Or are you on a bit of a budget and ok with what a typically buffet can offer? That is my only concern and I would say Umi is good for those special or once in a while visit for something nice. Or if you can afford to come often, much respect and more power to you. As well there was signage for a 2 hour limit for dine in just fyi.

I love buffets, it's actually one of my top choices when craving going out to eat! Umi was recommended to us and so we decided to try it out yesterday for dinner. The food was actually pretty good, some personal favorites would be the lo mein, chicken nuggets, shrimp (all ways they cooked it), prime rib and boba!!! Name another buffet that serves BOBA like this! Also, service was great. Thank you to Crystal for really good service yesterday. I will definitely be coming back. It is a-little pricey, but if you're looking to indulge in great food, I think it's worth it!

Everything about this place is excellent. Can't really complain. I don't understand why people were giving it a bad review in the beginning. There was so many things to choose from to accompany anyone.

We came in on a busy Friday, about 630pm. It was super packed, but we were seated almost immediately fortunately. The price is around 38 dollars, but also includes drinks, so ok, 35 or so, which is pretty fair priced. We went immediately for the lobster Ofcourse. There was a small line hovering over the lobster, maybe 3 - 5 minute wait, and they seem to replenish the lobsters pretty quickly. It is served stir fried style similar to any Chinese restaurants or Kim son weddings. They have a huge assortment of seafood, I particularly enjoyed the abalone, coconut shrimp, and sushi sashimi's. I came in expecting like normal Chinese buffet, low quality foods, but was pleasantly surprised it was mid tier. They have raw oysters and steamed clams and crab legs. There is also a small ramen bar if you want to indulge in some ramen soup . People cycle in and out fairly quickly, they do have a 2 hour window per group. Great lighting and ambiance'. Would definitely come back again

We are true to this, not new to this! some families are buffet families and others are not. We are the former. My mom is like a HAWK with the fresh refills. It was busy when we got here for early dinner, linner? around 4pm on a Sunday but no wait. We got sat at a booth tucked in a far corner but looking around at all the seafood on nearby table's I was excited to begin my journey. in order: Sushi/sashimi start (these little aluminum trays...I am undecided on my feelings), make my way to the cold seafood (mussels, oysters, crablegs) then hot seafood (they have hot crablegs as well) and grilled meats. The pre-poured boba drinks were a nice touch, my favorites were just the teas - no milk. They have a fresh ramen station, soups and desserts but I didn't partake in any of these. Top dishes: - lamb chop, frog legs, oxtail stew, and the garlic lobster (when it's fresh) Honorable mentions: - grilled shrimp, shortrib and clams We found one lone stone crab claw in the crab legs at one point (tough to open with the crab cracker tbh, need to bring a hammer next time)

Outside is festive and pretty with the banners and trees. Inside is grand, spacious, and bright. It feels clean and open, which I appreciate. The kids receive complimentary soda bottles upon arrival, and we are informed that there is a 2-hour limit. Honestly, the 2-hour limit is more than enough to eat, so it is not a problem, even if you have a large party. There is a plethora of options! I didn't even try everything, because I was so full at the end. Since it's a buffet, everyone obviously wants to eat their money's worth, so I skipped out on eating the fruits, salad, and dessert. There was even a HUGE selection of bubble tea that I didn't drink either. This place is huge, and I felt like I kept finding more food every time I went back for seconds/thirds. lol There will definitely be something for everyone to enjoy. Sushi - I only ate the cooked rolls because I don't like raw sushi in general. I appreciated that the rolls looked like something I would receive from a sit-down restaurant. The content wasn't too stuffed, which makes sense since it is a buffet, but they didn't try to overload it with rice, either, unlike some other buffets. There were 4 rolls that I really enjoyed, so there will definitely be something for you if you're a sushi lover. I wished they placed the sushi sauces by the sushi bar, because I would have liked spicy mayo and eel sauce to dip. My husband found the sauce station when we were leaving. ): It was apparently next to the grill area. Salmon - the piece I got was overcooked and dry. I tried to eat it all, but I just couldn't. It was unfortunate because I love salmon!Galbi - Flavor was GREAT, but the meat was so chewy. ): I wish it wasn't because I would definitely have wanted to eat more of this. Ginger Dungeness crab & Lobster - The main thing I ate seafood wise. SO GOOD! So much flavor!!Halibut fish - AMAZING! Melts in your mouth and very flavorful. General Tso chicken - SO GOOD! Great sauce and very crispy. Rice in the pineapple - Meh to meSkewered shrimp - My mom loved this, but I thought it was meh. Fried bananas or was it plaintains...I don't remember - I LOVE bananas and this was so good! It was sweet, so it was basically my "dessert."Cream cheese crab puff - It was actually stuffed with cream cheese, unless other places which has like 1 tsp of content! This is something that is hard for me to resist. It was more sweet than savory, which is how I prefer it. Chinese donut - I remember loving this as a kid, but this did not hit the spot for me. It was really dense and dry; maybe it wasn't fresh. The service was great. They were quick to help clear your dirty/empty plates and refill the waters. This place is very expensive, but it makes sense because it is primarily a sushi and seafood buffet, which are high end foods. I only came here because my mom was in town for Mother's Day and this was her restaurant of choice. I did enjoy most of the food, but I wouldn't want to come back because of the price. They do offer 10% off for senior citizens and military personnels. Even after the discount, it would still make for a hefty bill. I deducted a star because I didn't like how they posted a 10% off your entire bill promotion on Instagram and upon payment, the waitress told us that it is only if you're paying cash. WHAT? I went back to Instagram and didn't see that mentioned anywhere. I don't like establishments that are deceptive. It was also interesting that for Mother's Day weekend, the prices went UP, whereas other restaurants try to entice customers by lowering prices. We came on a Monday, so it didn't affect us, but I was like...what??
