I don't know why I took so long to try this place. It had been on my list for a while and I finally had the chance to make a reservation. We went for date night and tried the curated omakase, which I highly recommend since you can tailor it to your likes/dislikes and budget. For all the delicious plates we tried, I think it was fairly priced and so worth it. This omakase was an experience and I don't think I want to try it any other way. I love trying new dishes and being surprised, instead of stressing what to order. The service was great. Our server Stephanie was very knowledgeable and kind. Everyone else was also very kind. I highly recommend anyone to try this place at least once. The wagyu beef and bluefin toro are amazing. The halibut was out of this world. I can't wait to go back.

The waiter we got really put a damper on the entire experience. I've been to the original Uchi in Austin when it first opened, and comparing that experience to this new Miami branch is a far cry from what I had hoped for. To start, our drinks didn't come out until after we placed our order and had to ask multiple people multiple times where if they could help us with the whiskey neats we ordered. We were told they either couldn't find the bottle or had run out of our whiskey choice--a frustrating start. To make matters worse, the wait staff didn't seem to have much knowledge about sushi. When I asked which fish they had freshly flown in, I got a generic "it's all fresh, of course" response, followed by an attempt to upsell us on the cooked dishes. I don't doubt those dishes are good, but I came to Uchi for sushi, not for someone to steer me away from it.The food itself, once it arrived, was fine--some dishes even great (chicken karaage - chicken in a box) --but the service really tarnished the overall experience. For a brand known for its meticulous attention to detail and high standards for sushi (Uchi TX being dubbed one of the best sushi places in the entire US), this Miami location was not even close. Hopefully, they work out the kinks because the potential is there, but this visit left me missing the Austin original and i would probably never come back.

Uchi is a Japanese spot in Wynwood that I absolutely adore. They actually have other locations in different states, which I learned about on my recent visit. I got to come here twice, both for birthday celebrations but this past one was for my birthday! Uchi is a beautiful spot to celebrate any event, with delicious food to match. At a higher price point, definitely make sure to come here for a special occasion. I felt so spoiled by both my partner and the staff at Uchi. When we arrived, we were seated promptly after letting them know we made a reservation. They gave us a birthday card when we were seated with a lovely note! Our server was so attentive and gave us a ton of recommendations, including the uchi salad, which is now one of my all time favs! Instead of a birthday dessert with staff coming to sing happy birthday, our server actually gifted us the Dream Girl roll during dinner, which is waaay better than a bday dessert in my opinion. It was such a wonderful surprise. It was a five star experience, from start to finish. Beautiful food with a great taste to match!

TRY THE SCALLOP ROLLS. DELICIOUS. THE BEST. I CRAVE THESE. The service is outstanding. The ambiance is super chill, great vibe especially for a happy hour. Close to Wynwood so you can walk around after. Parking was ok, a bit difficult. They sat us down immediately. Drinks were good! Highly recommend doing the experience they offer where they bring you what they think is the best off the menu. Highly recommend.

had a lil pre-bday dinner at uchi last week. such an amazing omakase experience-- we opted to sit at the bar because we initially expected to grab a few bites but were convinced the omakase would be the perfect bday experience. there were 10 courses included in the omakase but we somehow left with about 15 courses. the team behind the counter was so gracious and made our evening unforgettable. i've only been to uchi one time before this and i know i'll be back soon (especially for happy hour) -- also i wish i could say what was my favorite dish but tbh every dish that came out was a hit.

I absolutely loved every sushi and dessert I had here. I love the simple and authenticity of the sushi and sashimi. It's so hard to come across authentic Japanese sushi that does not have fusion of other cuisines because Japanese food should be strictly seafood, refreshing and simple. Not with added cream cheese, filling and toppings that cause too much bloating. Maybe I'm just picky, but definitely love this place. The atmosphere is quite perfect for a date or even a get together. Service was quick especially at the bar table since you have the chefs in front

I recently dined at Uchi Wynwood and had a wonderful experience. The minimalistic Japanese zen atmosphere is serene, and the attentive service enhances the meal. The happy hour omakase is a great value, concluding with a satisfying dessert.Notable dishes include the exclusive dorsal fin of flounder, rich chopped wagyu sushi, flavorful Spanish anchovies, crispy spring rolls with spicy ponzu, and fresh Hamachi yellowtail sashimi. Uchi Wynwood is a must-visit for exceptional food and ambiance.

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and could not be happier with this experience. And when I say it's an experience, it really was. We were a group of 6 and we had the best server by the name of Kai. He was so knowledgeable and patient and funny and just had so much customer service it really made the experience all the more enjoyable. Each of us ordered our own dishes and he had no problem splitting our checks. After doing my research and reading several reviews, I decided to order: the Akami Crudo, the Tako Maki, the Sake Toro Nigiri, the Hama Chili, the Sake Toro Crudo and then we got the Fried Milk dessert to share. Kai broke down the menu for us and explained the most popular dishes, which we would like based off our own personal preferences, and even gave us free dishes. When I say he was the best, he really was. He recommended the chefs tasting and I do want to try that next time. The food portions are smaller than let's say a sushi chain restaurant in a strip mall, but this is a gourmet experience. I thought the portions and the pricing were completely fair. As for my dishes, I would say they were all delicious. They all had such unique flavors I would have never thought would pair so well. The Hama Chili or the Sake Toro Crudo are my top choices I think. As for the fried milk dessert.... Get it. You never had nor never will again have a dessert as good as this one. 5/5 experience I cannot wait to come back here. Truly a memorable dinner.

Oh my! What an incredible indulgence. My wife and I visited Uchi and had the Chef's Tasting Menu. Yes, it's pricey, but it was a memorable evening.Ten courses, at least, eleven I think, each seemingly better than the last. A5 Wagyu on a Lava Stone, ohhhh, it melts in your mouth, The finest Bluefin tuna sashimi, so, so buttery and delicious. Foie gras as a special course for me, why not? Oysters, seared halibut, bok choy, incredible sushi and sashimi, and on and on.The server asks at the beginning if there are any items on the menu you dislike. I'm not a fan of small, fatty "fishy" fish such as mackerel and anchovies, so one planned serving with mackerel was replaced for me. My wife hates foie gras but I happen to love it, so I was surprised with a special seared serving of my own.Thank you Uchi for a meal we'll never forget. And we so look forward to your arrival in Charlotte.

A lovely jem in wynwood, this amazing place is a fusion of Latin and Japanese cuisine.we came for the open table tasting event that left us with a full and happy belly and wanting more. I wish every bite could last longer, an amazing explosion of flavors and umami bomb. The ambiance was casual and sleek. The drinks and adult beverages were phenomenal. I highly recommend this establishment. From their amazingly affordable happy hour menu to their omakase tasting. That would surely deliver a wonderful diaspora of culinary delights.
