One of the best seafood restaurants in Miami! What truly sets this place apart from the other is the quality of the seafood, the service and the desserts. We came on a Thursday night and did not have a reservation, but we were lucky enough to find some spots at the communal table. Reservations are a must here because it's a very popular happy hour place. The dirty martini with blue cheese olives was solid! For starters, we shared a dozen oysters, tried them all and they were amazing! We also had the wedge salad, which was just ok. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the lemon butter sauce was divine. The mushroom crusted black grouper was definitely unique and equally delicious. If you enjoy ending your meal with dessert, you have to try the guava cheesecake! It's smooth and creamy, slightly tart with the most decadent guava coulis on top. Could not stop eating it until the last bite!Stephanie was our waitress and she was fantastic. Very attentive and she also gave us great recommendations on what to order. We will definitely try the happy hour here next. Loved the ambiance.

Horrible service, mediocre food, would not recommend if you are a small group traveler or just really anyone who values their time. Was in the area during happy hour, saw a decent review, so decided to hop in to try their oysters and some drink. I was ignored for first 30 minutes in, just staring at the kitchen staff. Hella awkward to turn the back every 5 minutes trying to find a server. The kitchen staff had to call the server by yelling for me to get the menu because it is SO hard to grab anyone for any assistance. Should've left by then but I got the drink so stayed. had to wait literally 20-30 minutes for the food to come out, and another 20 minutes to pay my bill. Only time I regretted not bringing in cash so I can just pay and leave to my next destination. Waste of time, there are way better oyster places in Miami to try out.

I dined at The River Oyster Bar, a Latin American seafood restaurant in Miami, and had an overall good experience. The service was just good--not great, not bad, just good. The food, however, was great, with fresh and flavorful seafood dishes. The highlight of our experience was definitely the dessert. If you order their chocolate cake, be prepared to receive a ridiculously giant but extremely delicious treat. It was truly amazing and left a lasting impression.I will definitely return to The River Oyster Bar when I visit Miami again. Highly recommended for seafood lovers and dessert enthusiasts alike!

Elevated restaurant with an extensive drink and food menu and consistently fresh oysters. Love their happy hour drinks (martinis and $8 select wines), appetizers (lamb meatballs; calamari) and crab cakes.

I enjoyed happy hour at The River Oyster Bar, located in Brickell, just south of Downtown Miami. The area is vibrant and close to various shopping spots, making it a convenient stop for a fun evening out. Their happy hour runs every day from 3-7 pm, and I can say it's definitely worth a visit.Ambiance and Service:The restaurant's interior is beautiful, offering an elevated and sophisticated atmosphere that's perfect for both romantic evenings and casual get-togethers with friends. There's ample seating, including a bar area. The overall vibe is classy yet inviting. Our server, Stephania, was exceptional. She was not only knowledgeable about the food and wine but also attentive and accommodating. For example, when I mentioned a baby oyster stuck to a shell, she went above and beyond by having it shucked and brought back to me on a plate of ice. Her dedication to providing a great dining experience was impressive and made our visit enjoyable.Food and Drinks:We ordered several items from the happy hour menu, and here's a breakdown of what we tried below.1. Half Price Happy Hour Oysters ($1.75 each, Chef's Choice): This was the highlight of our visit. We had two types of oysters: Hampton Bay (smaller, saltier) and Blue Point (larger, sweeter). I especially loved the Blue Point oysters and ended up ordering 2.5 dozen of them. The oysters were fresh and well-sized, and paired perfectly with the horseradish, peppery herb mignonette, red sauce, and lemon juice. This deal is hard to beat.2. Clams Casino ($7): This dish featured 4 clams wrapped in bacon, cooked in a delicious peppery, oil-based sauce, and served on a bed of salt rocks. Though a small appetizer, the flavor was fantastic.3. Calamari Fritti ($10): A small plate of crispy fried squid in batter, served with a spicy anchovy aioli. The calamari was a well-cooked snack.4. Lamb Meatballs ($10): This dish included 2 meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce topped with ricotta pecorino. Despite the small portion, the sauce was flavorful, and the meatballs were well-seasoned.Overall, River Oyster Bar provides a delightful happy hour experience with excellent service and tasty dishes. While the portions for some items were on the smaller side, the quality and flavors made up for it.

This is my go-to place for happy hour in Brickell! The River Oyster Bar is located on Tamiami Trail by the Brickell City Center. There is a parking garage nearby or street parking all around Brickell. I highly recommend stopping by early if you're going to happy hour! The bar gets filled quickly but they do offer happy hour outside as well. The staff is pretty friendly and depending on how busy they are, they can be very attentive. The last time I went, they gave us the wrong dish and one dish never came out but when we reminded the waiter he said it was being made. Keep food wait times in mind of you have a reservation for dinner elsewhere! The food is fresh and very flavorful. I love their oyster selection, it's always fresh and I haven't had a bad oyster there! I also like that the oyster menu is constantly revolving. The dinner menu is also delicious. I really like the mussels in the coconut milk and the squid ink pasta!

We bumped up our dinner reservation to a lunch reservation with ease, it was actually nicer because it was quiet, the restaurant was nicely decorated, very chic. We also were able to catch the brunch menu which had such a good variety of decently priced menu options. The server was nice and gave some great suggestions and we ended up ordering the oysters for appetizers and Squid Ink Spaghetti and the Sunday special of the day. Overall it was a great experience, I would recommend for special occasions, girls night or anniversary.

Happy I finally got to try this spot! Have had it recommended to me by multiple people, but I'm rarely in Brickell.Sat at the bar and had a half dozen oysters and the poke for lunch. The service was great and friendly. They had a great selection of oysters, which were fresh & delicious and some of the best poke (actually marinated) I've had in Miami. Definitely a bit of a splurge, but worth the quality. It was the middle of the work week, so seemed like a great ambiance for a business lunch. Curious to come back for dinner and explore the entrees.

Favorite restaurant in Miami so far. Came here for dinner after a few recommendations from friends and left beyond blown away. The River Oyster Bar is not particularly fancy but the quality of its food is incredible. We started out with a few oysters which our waitress helped up in selecting. Delicious, light, and flavorful. We decided the entrees that were recommended to us spoke to us more than any of the appetizers so we ended up getting 3 entrees to share among two people. The crab gnocchi was amazing - soft and flavorful gnocchi, delectable truffle (and truffle oil), and big pieces of crab. The scallops were quite large and numerous in quantity with the risotto. The grouper in mushroom sauce was probably my least favorite of the 3 due to its straightforward flavor but otherwise very solid as a dish. The guava cheesecake came recommended to us as well, and it turned out to be even better than expected. It was a massive cheesecake - probably the single biggest slice I've ever seen in a cheesecake (not sure how one person can finish it alone lol). Service was great and I thought our server was very attentive. The only thing that could have improved this experience is if the actual food came out a bit faster after ordering despite the restaurant not seeming incredibly busy. Otherwise, an amazing meal, Definitely looking to return soon!

I loved the food here! It was within walking distance from my hotel, the Hyatt Regency Miami. When I called to ask about their hours, I found out 10:30 PM is what is posted and is also when the kitchen closes. I started with some $3.50 oysters and a $21 stone crab. I had my mind set on getting the Mayflower oysters from MA, but they were out. I wish the waiter had started out the night telling us what food they were out of or better, cross it off your menu if you won't serve it. Ngl the server also did not give much info on the oysters as I had hoped. It seemed like either he didn't want to bother explaining or he just didn't know how to describe them. I ended up getting the Blue Island from NY. The stone crab was so worth it. Def recommend trying it if you can. I also highly recommend getting Sea Scallops a la Plancha $32 and Fisherman's Stew $35 (spicy). Both were so satisfying and delicious.
