Like many of its other fans, I was worried that Purple Bowl's move further away from campus might make a dent in its business. I know three days doesn't provide a lot of data, but the joint was jumping on its first Saturday in the new locale. The remodel is gorgeous--lots of white and wood on the walls, the marbled floors, and the airiness of the space, all leaving me feeling very welcomed and relaxed as I enjoyed my antioxidant bowl. And the patio is fantastic! There were games going on, plenty of tables and places to sit and chat, and a separate ordering window--no need to go inside. So far it feels like the relocation could actually make this popular spot even more successful.

Amazing across the board from their fresh açaí to their protein balls and service! Granola also gluten free, but tasty for any consumer! Would highly recommend for anyone going through chapel hill. Only reason I am giving it a 4 is because I think the ambiance could be a little cozier/the overall space, but that's just my personal preference so really objectively a 5! Also, ordered this for a team when we came through town, and all the açaís were delivered on time even after I had to change, (multiple), the times of delivery. They were packaged excellently and the owner catered to our needs in terms of supplying toppings (peanut butter, Nutella, honey) to make it feel more personalized. Highly recommend!!

Have not revisited The Purple Bowl nor have other people I know since we were in various instances given a product that did not match the description or the staff ignored us in taking & making our order, but was too busy fawning & chatting up their friends that were more important. When I politely explained the issue with a smoothie, I was interogated by this older woman who acted like she was a shareholder or something awful was at stake to make the order right. She had some sort of accent , maybe Eastern European and definitely was not a person who valued customer satisfaction and was remarkably rude. These kind of instances make it uncomfortable to return, so we feel very anxious to try their new location.

It's definitely your average acai bowl place. It has a homey and clean vibe to it, and it's a nice spot to hang out with friends during a hot day. I love local businesses, and this place did a good job building a strong community and comfortable environment for students and families. However, the bowls are small and pricey, and the toppings you can add without having to pay extra are limited. The regular bowl size is what I consider to be a snack size, but it still comes out to be around $13ish. You can only pick two fruits for the build your own bowl, which is disappointing. Also, even though I was dine-in, the acai bowl came half melted and not as cold as I was expecting it to be. It's definitely different from larger acai bowl chains, but I understand the circumstances since this is a local business. I suppose it does the job.

Super friendly service, relaxed ambiance, love the outdoor patio but my açaí bowl wasn't anything special. However I love my açaí bowls so can be a harsh critic. I would def go again though.

Neat little place on Franklin street in Chapel Hill. Very healthy bowls and smoothies. You can choose from some recipes or select your own. My wife likes the Appalachian trial bowl and I make my own. Service is very quick. As good as the food is, the service is better. Everyone is over the top friendly and helpful. A very safe place for allergies or Chiat diets as they are patient and answer every question without the "come on" look you get at so many places.Inside it's very chill, if you aren't a UNC fan you might have to look over some of the decor (over the top UNC stuff) but the food and service/people are definitely worth it. Good for the right kids. There's no sugary menu choices or pastries some kids only accept. This is becoming our favorite for those leisurely Saturday mornings. Definitely give this a try!!!!!

Everyone is so nice here and the place is spacious, airy, and clean-feeling. I appreciate the many seating options both inside and outside. I keep coming back because the acai bowls are just perfection. I attached a photo of my favorite BYO bowl and all the ingredients I choose (I get the same thing everytime). The parking lot is small and the tables are meant for intimate groups, though there's a bigger table in the back.Highly recommend! Plus, the granola is gluten-free!
