Had been wanting to try Porchetta House since it had great reviews. We finally made it in, met AJ, the chef and are so glad we did. Ordered the Original Bundle and the Al Pastor sandwich. I had no expectations since I've never had this type of sandwich. All I can say is YUM! Delicious and original flavors, well cooked porchetta, fresh veggies and very filling. Little bit of a hole in the wall and not a lot of space but as AJ said, this is temporary. He has plans to expand and I'm so glad since this is a must try! The location is a bit hidden. Using Google, it'll take you to a bar so we were confused. Just walk around the corner and you'll see The Porchetta House entrance.

The location is definitely not glamorous. I honestly wasn't confident I was in the right place for a minute, but I suspect that the owner/operator is doing the best he can with current resources.I tried the banh mi and the bread was bomb. Love to see a partnership with another local business. The fillings were sadly a bit of a letdown. The meat, made with all pork belly, lacked the meatiness and the crispy crackly skin of porchetta I've had in the past. It's not that it tasted bad, it just wasn't what I think of when I think porchetta. The pickled veg was quite vinegary but didn't bring the sweet brightness I typically love about Vietnamese pickled vegetables. I did love that the cilantro was packed separately in my to-go order so it didn't wilt in the sandwich on the way home. That's a sign that this chef cares about the food and the way you experience it.I have a lot of respect for a scrappy one man show working to bring something new to Denver. I hope that they get to graduate to a larger location and get things a bit more dialed in.

So good. The sandwich is mouth watering. Delicious. A hole in the wall kind of place.Service is quick and friendly. The inside seating is cute and they also have outside seating as well!

This place is a must try! My daughter and I are visiting from out of town and we like to check out different places each day but decided to go back for a second timeOn our first visit we tried the bahn mi and the Al pastor, both incredible. Basically an explosion of texture and flavor that never ends. Our second trip we had to have the bahn mi again and tried the original. The original is going to be your go to if you're big on savory. Thank you AJ for your hospitality and amazing food

This place is definitely a hidden gem with hole-in-the-wall vibes. There was literally one guy there running the whole show which major props to him. Their fried mushrooms were decent and their original was good as well. It had a little too much bread to my liking with an interesting spice that was present in each of these dishes but other than that just a good quality meal.

What makes a good sandwich place? A stack that makes a good Instagram photo? Pastel walls and hip names? Or is it how delicious things are? The place was empty when we arrived around dinner time. We were greeted warmly by a guy who popped out from the kitchen and put in an order of mozzarella sticks. They arrived freshly fried and hit the spot, crispy and gooey. Next up was the Al Pastor bundle. Wow, it looked amazing and tasted great! I think it might end up in the rotation of sandwiches but I've got to try the other ones! The space is a bit divey and could become a really cool spot!

We had never tried porchetta before, but after seeing the pictures online, we had to give this place a shot. We are so happy we did! The service was great and the food was insanely delicious. We don't mind little hole in the wall restaurants, but this place was really cluttered. The food was great, but if ambience is important, get it to go.

Be convinced! At least be convinced enough to try this place out. You will, I think, love It.I went to school for junior year abroad in Rome and back then before tourists overran the Roman Forum two of us would go down and play chess while sitting on old broken columns in the Forum, and then hang out at the Spanish Steps trying to pick up tourist women from other countries. In between the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon was a street vendor who sold porchetta sandwiches. God, were they great. Haven't had one since then and that was a long long time ago. Enter Chef AJ and his new porchetta shop that shares a space with Spices Cafe right off Colfax on Humboldt. Incredible. Amazing. As good as I remember my Roman version. Maybe even better. So look, you might not be in a place where one of your billionaire friends will let you fill an empty seat on his private jet to Italy (I'm talking to you, Justices--if I can call you that--Alito and Thomas), but...you sure can make your way a bit down Colfax and try one of AJ's porchettas.Do it. It'll be as good as you could ever wish!Ciao, so to speak,David(e)

I always make a point to try sandwiches from all the best rated places in Denver- or wherever really. This has been on my list for awhile. I got a bahn mi to go. It was so delicious. The texture of the porchetta was perfect- a mix of tender and crispy. The toppings were cut well to make the sandwich easier to eat than some other bahn mis I've had. The kewpie was tasty too. A thoughtfully curated, well-balanced sandwich. Service was friendly as well Highly recommend!!!
