The Mason Jar Tavern

Loved it. we ordered DoorDash and were thrilled with the multiple dishes we ordered. fried green tomatoespotato saladchicken tendersblackened mahi with risottostrawberry spinach saladsourdough clubChicken eggrollsdessert flightwow. all of this food was amazing. only minor issues to report. the mahi dish was at the bottom of the bag, and was crushed. the salad was delicious and the spinach was fresh. the salad dressing ramekin was smashed on top of the strawberries and cheese when there was space next to the spinach to set in in without crushing anything. the bottom fried tomato slice was soggy and cold (but the other two slices were wonderful). we had no idea what was in the dessert flight, so we didn't know what the topping in the ramekin was for. The chicken egg rolls were very fried but they tasted great. the risotto was a bit undercooked/ gritty. but the mahi was wonderful. the sourdough club was filled with meat. really great. the tomato slice was mealy, so I'd recommend they not use tomato if what is in house isn't quality. the potato salad had huge chunks of potato and had a hint of bacon, making it very memorable. we were very happy with our first meal from TMJT and look forward to ordering again soon.

While in town for my nieces' sweet sixteen birthday party, we stumbled upon this hidden gem, and it was a delightful surprise. The food was absolutely delicious, exceeding our expectations. We started with the Mason Jar Fries, a dish that is an absolute must-try. The brisket topping was incredibly tender and bursting with flavor--simply divine. For our main course, we enjoyed the Cod Fish Sandwich and Chicken Tenders, both of which were perfectly prepared and satisfying. My kid couldn't resist the Mason Jar S'mores, which added a fun and sweet ending to our meal.The venue itself had a warm, inviting atmosphere--nothing too fancy, but it had that cozy, local charm that makes you feel right at home. The staff was fantastic, not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the brew selections, which were spot on. The ambiance perfectly captured the essence of a down-home, local eatery, making it a memorable part of our visit.

The tacos and wings are great and the blackened mahi w/ risotto was top notch. The service is fast and friendly, and I enjoy the streaming music selection also. It's an overall neighborhood jewel. Good spot for lunch and dinner. Servers are always nice and attentive and the food is good. Not the best in the area but for the price as well as drinks it's a worthwhile meal.

Very cute tavern with all American food! Seating outside and inside. Outdoor patio doesn't have shade or umbrellas though. I loved their fried green tomatoes - recommend as an appetizer. I got the pimento cheeseburger. It was average. I asked for it done medium but it came well done. The burger patty was thin which was disappointing. French fries were the perfect amount of crispy which I loved. My cousin got the chicken Caesar wrap. She said it was so good. Chicken was cooked perfectly. She said the wrap has a lot of chicken and a good amount of Caesar dressing. There is a parking lot across the street of the restaurant but it fills quickly. I would come back again!

This place was good. The food was delicious. Great for lunch. The service was very good as well as the ambiance.

Brunched with friends today at The Mason Jar in Fuquay Varina. This was my second visit. The menu has a "southern" feel - or what I think is southern food as I'm "a Yankee". Background music volume was unobtrusive, which was welcome at 11 am. Two quiet babies were nearby because brunch. The setting is friendly and comfortable. Complimentary beignets greeted us. Very light with powdered sugar on top. Unsure how they escaped a photo. Must've been distracted by our mad rush to grab one.Started brunch with a strawberry mint lemonade kicked up a notch with Tangueray gin. Nice mix. I'd order it again. Ordered the chicken biscuit with pimento cheese - subbed chicken for brisket, well just because. Ate it up. Fried corn fritters on the side were delicious.I could imagine myself eating here regularly if I lived nearby like friends. For now, I'll gladly accept their next invitation to The Mason Jar.

Great customer service. Everyone was friendly and everything looked nice and clean. ! It was busy, but thankfully we were able to get a table. The food was delicious. We got pesto chicken pasta and the chicken was juicy and so yummy! It was a great experience! We can't wait to go back again.!

TLDR: Conveniently located American restaurant at a corner in downtown Fuquay. Good food. Delicious well-portioned desserts. Drinks and desserts served in mason jars.While visiting Fuquay, I placed an online takeout order from the mason jar tavern. The online menu was easy to navigate and up-to-date. We ordered the shrimp and grits without peppers and onions ($20), mason jar fries with queso and bacon on the side ($14.50), creme brûlée ($9), and s'mores ($9). Our order was accurate and ready on arrival. It was pricy, particularly the desserts. The entrees were good and portioned well. I enjoyed the mason jar fries but found the brisket very fatty. Definitely wish the large chunks of fat were removed prior to serving. The desserts were excellent. The lids on the mason jars just did not fit, which was surprising. I thought at first that they weren't closed correctly. However, after trying numerous times to twist the lid on properly we realized that it would not work. Not a huge concern just strange. Overall, we had a positive experience here and recommend this restaurant to others!
