Incredible food, incredible service, and incredible atmosphere. The etouffee was creamy and flavorful, the gumbo was seasoned perfectly and the roux was amazing. We split the fried shrimp and the batter was seasoned sooooo well. The cherry on top was the buttermilk pie- it was to die for. Seriously deadly, but so so yummy. Will 100% be back here and will be recommending to everyone!!!

I really wanted to like this place, but it is just so bad. They are really trying hard, but when the waitress tells you "we don't know nothing about running a restaurant or food or nothing; we just have to do it 'cause God told us to." I want to 100% affirm moving according to the urging of the Spirit, but this place is just not right. The prices are astronomical, I mean, $30+tax+tip for a (super fatty) steak (maybe 60% was edible meat) with white rice and 4 small asparagus spears? This is not Pappas Bros. The Gumbo and Étouffée are basically the same thing - made with frozen protein, based on vegetable broth, bland, hard to tell them apart except for the color. Bring back Tin Lizzie's - now THAT was gumbo. I won't even talk about "My Problem" - fried shrimp, on carrot cake icing with raspberry sauce, and flash-fried frozen blueberries. Just wow. Do not have the words. The owners and staff are super friendly and chatty - very welcoming and nice, and like I said, I SO wanted to have a good restaurant again in New Ulm since losing Tin Lizzie's... but just can't support this place. Will keep them in my prayers for sure.

Fantastic find in the middle of now where. Great relaxing diner with wonderful home cooked meals. Fresh and delicious!! Totally worth the drive. Can sit in the wonderful inside with a very old jukebox that actually work!! Or if you want a grab a table outside on the picnic tables and relax around the fire pit! Food it so good!!

Two words, "My Issue". This dessert was absolutely amazing, who would have known that fried shrimp for dessert could be so good! We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant and we are so happy to have a new place to eat. My husband had the ribeye with Gorgonzola cheese and I had the Pechuga Condimentada. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and my chicken was super flavorful. We also had a side of shrimp gumbo that was super delicious. This place is a must try!

This is a great little place with a friendly staff. My appetizer was the fried mozzarella sticks, which I ate before I thought about taking pics , but they were fresh and tasty as was the marinara. The NY strip was pretty big, a bit more marbling than I usually like in a strip, but it helps with flavor. I highly recommend topping it with Gorgonzola. I substituted the rice and asparagus for the seafood gumbo and I'm glad I did. Just the right amount of spiciness. This is worth the hour and a half drive if you're coming from Houston or Austin and not spending the night nearby and definitely a must if you are.

Casual atmosphere, great food, friendly service, attentive, excellent menu choices. A bit on the pricey side but we'll worth the value. No alcoholic beverages are sold here. Adding beer and wine would be a nice addition. A must try if you find yourself in or near New Ulm, Texas. ENJOY!
