The House Fish & Crab

I can only speak for the crab legs. They were fresh, tasty, nicely seasoned, and a very good price. We'll definitely be back. Very friendly service too.

This place wasn't a complete bust, but there were quite a few things that I didn't like. The restaurant opened at 11 and we were let in around 10:58 (kiddos for them for opening on time). They make you order and pay up front before you can sit down, which was not an issue for us. The 1st issue was none of the tables were cleaned. If we were the FIRST and ONLY guest in the restaurants, shouldn't the tables have been clean? The lady told us to pick a table and she would clean it. The wait wasn't long for the food, but my 2nd issue was the food was laid on the counter at the front and the women yelled to the back "Ma'am your food is ready, come and get it". I was slightly annoyed that we were eating inside the restaurant yet you yell for us to get food to bring back to our table instead of just bringing the food over. Same with the drinks, "come and get it" and laid it on the counter. Lady we are the ONLY people in this restaurant! No utensils were given, we had to fetch them ourself. No crab crackers were given we had to catch someone passing by to ask for them. I ordered the seafood boil for $42.99 (tax included) which includes 2 crab clusters (smalls ones), 6 shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage. The presentation was nice, but the food wasn't seasoned well. I was not impressed at all by my food. The potatoes tasted undercooked, my corn tasted overcooked , the sausage was ok. The food wasn't TERRIBLE, but it wasn't GREAT either if that makes any sense. My mother ordered the fish and she didn't hate it, but said it wasn't seasoned well at all. Since the food wasn't absolutely terrible I'm willing to give them a 2nd chance, but since we were the first people there on a Monday, I really don't have high hopes they can sell me the 2nd time around.

The lady at the counter was very pleasant. My group of four decided to eat there after work, the tables wasn't cleaned and no one was seated to eat. They do not serve alcohol although their is an illuminated sign suggesting they do. We ordered and paid first and was given numbers but once the food was ready the lady at the counter yelled out our name for us to come and pick it up. Not sure what the number is for. Not sure if I will try it again. I'm saddened by that because I try and support black businesses.

I caught them as they were closing but the young lady had no problem still taking my order. The food was delicious. The shrimp were huge. I like their flavor, it was much better than Cary or Raleigh Crabhouse and the best part is that it's close to my home. I was losing hope in finding quality seafood in NC but they won me over. Delicious!

This is a hidden gem in Durham! Don't pass this by. My mom and I stopped in for lunch while in the area. These were by far the messiest crab legs I have eaten....but the absolute best!! You have a choice between wet or dry....go with wet! This means they are smothered in their own blend of garlic, butter and seasonings! We didn't even need the butter given to us since the butter on the plate was even better!! Trust me...try it! You will be glad you did!!!

They have really great food. I ordered a family pack and it was ginormous! The catfish were like a foot long each. The flavoring was like soul food. They have my favorite hush puppies ever! Super buttery and crunchy on the outside while soft on the inside. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the crab legs were tiny. So much so that that the only edible meat was in the very top portion of the leg and that was barely anything. I'd definitely order again. I would just skip the crab.

Worst service ever! Went with a buddy from work my food came 10-15 before his and after we left we found out they give him the wrong order, he drove back 10-15 minutes for his proper order and his food never came out after waiting 15 minutes. This is place is a joke worst counter service ive ever been a witness too! Better off going to BK down the street.

The ladies here are so sweet! First time I came and forgot to order sweet tea, she comped my tea. I love the crab clusters and shrimp. Hard to get seafood I want such as crab legs or shrimp with corn in NC! The prices are not bad and in close proximity to two post secondary education institutions!

My food was delicious! We got the crab leg special: So good omg I eat crab legs from a lot of places and this was the best. Very tasty and seasoned well. 3 clusters for $25. Me girlfriend and I were so pleased with our meal! Will be back again
