The Greek Joint Kitchen & Bar

Where do you go when you don't know where to go? What do you eat when you don't know what to eat? I don't get into Hollywood that often as I stated in prior reviews. I was out on a date with an old girlfriend of mine, catching up on old times. She had no clue what she wanted to eat, so I recommended Greek. She agreed, and we went over to the Greek joint. I've been going to this place since they first opened one block away from where they are now. The food never fails. We both had gyros with French fries, and not only was it delicious, but it was filling. I said hello to the owner. After a brief conversation, he remembered who I was. He asked me to try a new rib dish he was getting ready to introduce to his menu. The ribs were very good, not traditional like what you find at a barbecue place, but his version. Both myself and my date thoroughly enjoyed the ribs. I recommend you give them a try when you go there. One of the things I like about this place is that I always leave full. What's the cost of eating out these days? I don't like to go to a restaurant and leave hungry. Not this man's price is reasonable. You need a wheelbarrow to roll out of the restaurant because you're so stuffed. Great food, great prices, great value. What more could you ask for?I'm also excited because they opened up another restaurant on the corner of Sterling and University Drive. My daughter loves Greek food, and I told her we're gonna have a daddy-daughter date there soon.

I can't recommend this restaurant enough! My family and I have been loyal customers for the past 7 years, and every visit just keeps getting better. This time, we brought our family friends, and they were blown away by the exceptional service and delicious food. We started with the 4 dip platter and fried feta, both of which were absolute winners. The chicken souvlaki sticks, fries, and salad were fresh and flavorful. And, of course, we couldn't resist indulging in their heavenly baklava. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Greek cuisine in the area!" The ambiance was perfect, it is such a unique a great restaurant.

We had a lovely family lunch at the Greek Joint Kitchen in Downtown Hollywood. We chose indoor seating and were accommodated in a nice booth area for six of us including our two grandchildren. The indoor decor felt like very grecian with flowing ceiling drapes, and blue neon lighting. There was covered outdoor seating as well as sidewalk seating under umbrellas. We were lucky to find street parking as there is a lot of construction taking place.Our server was pleasant and very helpful. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu. The children had chicken slouvaki skewers and fries. Our salads were fresh and we learned an authentic Greek salad does not come with lettuce but the tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and large piece of feta were great. Ive been having a taste for lamb chops and what better place to order them. My dish came with four chops, lemon roasted potatoes and asparagus. I thought it was delicious! We finished our meals with baklava and coffee. All in all a terrific experience.

First time heading over to The Greek Joint and the food was fantastic!! Enjoyed everything we ate from the hummus, to the ribs and then on to dinner where I had the Moussaka and my wife had the lamb chops. Another friend of mine had the Lamb Pita sandwich. Drinks were good and service was as well. A little too noisy for my liking but definitely check it out!

This was my first visit to The Greek Joint. I turned to Yelp, of course, when the restaurant one street over was completely booked. I love Greek food, so It was worth a try! The staff was friendly and very attentive, from the first moment until the end. The food was very good, and the prices on par with other restaurants in the area, but maybe slightly higher than expected compared to other Greek restaurants. The dip Platter was a great starter, I loved the spicy fetta spread the best. The stuffed grape leaves were really good, but not what we were expecting. They were warm with a combination of rice and meat, topped with a creamy lemon sauce. My husband had the gyro, sorry he didn't let me get a pic before he tore into it. It was filled with meat, tomatoes, onion, and a healthy serving of tzatziki. His fries were thick and crispy; it also came with a small side salad. I chose 2 separate items rather than an entree. The Spanokopita was tasty with the flaky filo and plenty of spinach filling. My salad was huge, but not what I expected, as there was not your typical lettuce base, which is what I was looking for. It was good, but again, not as expected. I think more details on the menu would be helpful, especially for items that may be different from the norm. We skipped dessert as the items listed weren't typical Greek desserts, which was a bit disappointing, but we were full anyway. I would definitely return though, especially for a casual lunch.

Hubs and I had a nice date night here - no reservations on a Saturday. We were walking by and saw some delicious foods being enjoyed on the patio, so we decided to give this spot a try. We opted to join the patio diners and were seated quickly (around 7 pm). If I have to gripe about something regarding our seating, we were at a wobbly table (wobbly base and the table was also loose from the base). We didn't complain because it just wasn't worth the move to another table. We ordered the 4 dip sampler, a passionfruit mojito and a passionfruit Moscow mule to start. The drinks were delicious and large, making up for their $13-15 price tag. We enjoyed the tzatziki and the feta dips, but we weren't huge fans of the hummus and the eggplant dips. We were served a basket of bread with seasoned olive oil, and the waiter offered to refill the bread. For our entrees we had Greek style fries and Greek style buffalo wings - not as good as we had hoped - and the roasted vegetable and orzo salad with chicken added. The salad was good, but it was missing something in my opinion (maybe chopped kalamatas and more parsley would have thrown it over the top), but the chicken breast was seasoned to perfection! There were leftovers with what we ordered. We had a nice time, and probably would have stayed for dessert and another round of drinks if we had more time. The place was picking up even as we were leaving.

My husband and I have consistently been visiting for a while. As Hollywood becomes more populated so has this restaurant. Our secret spot is no more a secret *sniff* but we'll deserved. You will probably drive around three or four times before getting a prime parking spot. Getting seated isn't an issue but the restaurant fits large groups to couples. We initially got overlooked for about 15 minutes. We brought this to a waitresses attention and and she immediately tended to us. The food was good, has the lamb shank which was nicely cooked with s delicious mixed of vegetables. The humus was great too and had a unique but homemade flair about it. The hubby had the grilled lamb chops and they were delicious, perfect seasoning and sear! It's perfect for a romantic evening or larger intimate group of friends/family. Go ahead and do it in 2023! The food is amazing & I love the new look! Can't wait to visit again. I especially love seeing Heather behind the bar. Always good conversation & tasty drinks 10/10 recommend!

I was going to do my review on google but I don't have an account, I hope the workers see this review.I had a wonderful experience in this restaurant,starting for the environment being excellent and the best customer service you can ask for. Thank you Jeff and Andy, I will mostly definitely be back.

I was waiting to be attended at the table for 20 mins.Then an old woman came to me without respect and touch taken me and my family out of the table justifying that it was reserved. My wife was upset and the old woman just solve the issue calling the police.Terrible of having this scene without justification.All the tables remain free outside the entire afternoon and night.
