I'm sure we all have came to visit this restaurant based off the hype on Instagram. Quite frankly, everything looks amazing on Instagram and Chef Too Kool's cooking makes you want to book the first flight to Atlanta to try his restaurant. That is what I did during this trip to Atlanta, however, this visit ended in heartbreak. Upon walking up to the entrance, they were charging a $20 cover charge. I am not sure what the cover charge was for being that we were only there to eat and eat only. We were not there to turn up or have the lounge experience, just there to try the food. But no problem, we paid the $20 cover charge because we were so anxious to try his food once and for all. We were seated at our table promptly and it seemed as though the table cloth that was being used was something similar to bedsheets. This was very shocking because the tables probably could've been better off without the "bedsheets" but nonetheless we sat down peacefully and vibed to the music as we waited for our waiter.Our waiter finally came and took our orders. We all wanted to try the "Kangz" but were received with a terrible news that the fried king crab legs were currently unavailable. There was no further explanation so we had to go ahead and choose our second best option. We all ordered the fried lobster tail and gumbo grits. We also ordered some drinks on the menu and water. We waited in extreme anticipation for our order.The drinks came out. I was mortified to see that the drinks were being served in red solo cups, as if we were in somebody's backyard boogie. On top of that the drinks were just OK, but what we really came to the restaurant for was the food so we continue to wait for that.The food finally came out, but the experience only got worse. The waiter brought out plastic utensils and styrofoam to go containers for our food, as if we ordered everything to go. That was really not what I expected from the restaurant, and as I went to open the Styrofoam containers, the food looked like it was slapped on the tray by a cafeteria lady. No special plating like we see on his Instagram and the presentation almost made you not want to eat the food because everyone knows that you eat with your eyes first.I decided to take a bite. Now granted, the food did not look appetizing at all but it actually tasted pretty good. The fact that the food tasted good is the only reason I am giving the restaurant two stars. Everything else needs drastic improvement. I know it is probably hard to start a restaurant especially during these times, and everything is not going to be excellent during the first year. However, in order to continue to be a functioning and successful restaurant, I think this restaurant has a lot of ground work to take care of. I am glad that I went so that I could experience this for myself instead of listening to anyone else. It is safe to say that I won't be coming back here unless there is a 180° improvement. Very disappointing.

It took me a few hours to muster up the time to write this review. I wanted to be as fair and understanding as possible. First and foremost I want to say that I will cover the pros and cons of my experience here. I arrived at the restaurant at 2:45pm, didn't get seated until 4:18pm and didn't receive my food until 5:15pm. I knew this would be my first and last time coming here so I waited..... and waited. When the food finally came out I would say that I was not disappointed but not impressed. The best things I had were the soul rolls, henny wings and catfish. I felt the lamb chops were small,the macaroni and cheese needed seasoning as well as I felt the krab krumblers needed a garlic butter sauce rather than melted butter. Pros: soul rolls , wings and our waitress tori was extremely nice. The food was semi-hot which was better than cold. And the atmosphere wasn't so bad. The food was not bad but it's not worth the money that was spent ( $208.86 to be exact ) and not worth wasting my entire day here. I had been wanting to come here for so long as I live in FL and only one to ATL 1x a month. Cons: The hostess forgot about us. We waited an extremely long time to be seated and brought our food due to the kitchen being " backed up " ( Gordon Ramsey himself would tell a a chef this is unacceptable and too many orders are being taken with either not enough staff or something. And it's not good business for the door security to let individuals surpass those who are waiting to be checked because they are giving her weed . Just made no sense to me but it might to an off duty cop. I say this to say if you have an entire day to spare with nothing else planned I would say check it out or come as soon as they open. Overall I did not like my experience and the food didn't make up for it. It was worth the one and only try.

Coming from a true foodie who waited 3 months to try this spot.Total disappointment! The only thing GoodGood was the Dranks! The Bartender was on point! Now to this unacceptable food. I came to the establishment to try the Soul Rolls(OUT) the Jerk Chicken Rolls(OUT) the Crabby Patty(OUT). Epic fail. So I decided to just try sides and an order of shrimp; which were overcooked.! My cousin had the little crab battered thingy (Which was all batter) and some wings( which were jumbo )The Mac and cheese was not the best - it was the string cheese for me. The sweet potatoes were decent but nothing I would run back to! The greens weren't seasoned at all. The staff was friendly but for the prices, the food needs more love and care. I won't return. I was sad cause I love food.

Ummmmmmmm, 1 Im from Detroit so of course I had to stop in! I was excited to see the line long (love progress for my people) but was also unprepared for it! IT moves faster than it looks but you def need someone with you or a phone to keep you preoccupied. Now, this was my first time going so I was okay with sitting wherever. BAD CHOICE. Sitting in the bar area is super boring. You can't really hear the music and there is no real interaction since the bartender and the waitress are essentially the same person. The food was okay, im gonna give this place another chance. It could of just been a bad day coming off a busy night. idk idk but we're gonna try again!

I've heard about this place for awhile and was glad to finally try it. The inside decor is really nice with wall murals and LED lights. Our server was very attentive and offered alot of suggestions. The hookah combo she recommended was very good (orange mint and pineapple) Me and my friends really enjoyed our food and quick service. Im deducting a star because my mashed potatoes were cold and the lemon drop cocktail was very sour. Overall, I'd return again in the future.

This is a step up from soul food, don't get me wrong it is still good. Although the wait is long they are pretty attentive in making sure you're comfortable and reassuring you that you're not forgotten. Food is bomb, service is bomb, what more can you ask for? Yes, it is celebrity owned but that doesn't mean they play favorites. Be sure to stop by when you're in Atlanta as they have food you won't find elsewhere.

The service, the atmosphere and the plating was amazing. The food is sooo heavily salted you can't taste the quality of the food. Thai Chili salmon just had the thai chili sauce poured over top, nothing seasoned about the salmon (smoke flavor or something)!Expected a banging lunch... it was ok? I'll try again to support my people

Food doesn't look anything like what you see on IG, they were out of most items/sides we wanted to try. For example: when I asked for skillet potatoes, they decided to serve me this shit like I wouldn't know the difference.

Terrible. Everything is overpriced and doesnt even taste that good. It's also dirty in there. I went on a Sunday and wanted to order the stuffed French toast but they didn't have it so I ordered the fruity pebbles French toast. $15 for 2 pieces of regular white toast with cereal on it. Never again will I go there.
