The Flat Drum

Black owned, scratch made wings and things. We stumbled upon this food truck while visiting Dorthea Dix Park for the first time. We really enjoyed the different food trucks and my friend decided on the spicy pineapple boneless wings and macaroni and cheese. I ordered the sweet potato fries. Everything was excellent from this truck. We really enjoyed the large portions, mac and cheese was good and the spicy pineapple boneless chicken was very flavorful. I will be back to try other things on the menu. The service from staff was excellent.

We hit these guys up parked at Steel String's brewery location out on 54 west of Carrboro.The wings were fantastic, best I've had in the triangle. They cook them nice and crisp, which most idiots don't do. We got honey hot, which was buffalo but a little sweeter, and parmesan garlic? Also great. My buddy and I also split a chicken sandwich and it was excellent but a little different - basically fried tenders with BBQ sauce on a roll.Pretty sure it's black-owned. Really nice pair who ran it. Everything definitely made to order.

It's a food truck. Serves chicken, fries, and Mac & cheese. Wait time was good. Service was friendly. Got boneless garlic Parmesan chicken. Taste was just ok. Nothing special. Got sweet potato waffle fries. Needed a little more seasoning. Price was about $20.00. Not sure if I'd order it again.

The absolute BEST chicken spot in NC!! The Garlic Parm & Spicy Pineapple are the best! I like Hot Honey too.

Stopped at the Steel Spring brewery and Flat Drum food truck was here too. We had they had good wings, but they far exceeded good! Excellent none on and boneless wings. We tried three flavors of bone in: OG hot, Spicy PBJ and lemon pepper. All are great, and the consensus favorite was the lemon pepper. All were big meaty wings, perfectly cooked with just right amount of breading. We also had an order of Peach Chipotle boneless wings, that were also really flavorful, solid crispy beard g and quality white meat. One in our group was not really into wi gs, so we tried the Mac and cheese - good, but not the best thing we ate. We will certainly start tracking this truck and back for more. Highly recommend!!

They took over half an hour to get 2 items of food out. And at best it was mediocre. Spend your money elsewhere and add 30 minutes to what ever time they tell you.
