Located in Avalon you'll find this very charming restaurant in the middle of the shops at Avalon. It's located on the side near The Hotel, Apple Store and Rumis Kitchen. Service is as expected - it's good. Menu Selection is nice although they do not offer a lunch menu. It is good however pricy for lunch. Lunch for two was $80 - no beverage - no starter - no appetizer- no dessert. Just two lunches. No leftovers! Bang for buck is better at Rumis Kitchen but it's still a cute spot. They have a rooftop which was not opened. It's a cute date spot or girlfriend lunch place. We noticed some older men with younger women. Caesar Salad with Grilled Salmon: Very good. The house made dressing is delicious. Halibut with Broccolini & Coconut Rice : Very good with a mild red curry sauce.

I recently visited this restaurant with high hopes, as our previous experience had been fantastic. Unfortunately, this time around was a complete disappointment from start to finish. We arrived for our reservation and were taken to the rooftop, expecting a pleasant atmosphere. To our surprise, there was absolutely no ambiance--no music, no TV, just an empty and lifeless space. The waiter greeted us and proceeded to serve water in a dirty glass. When we pointed this out, he didn't apologize. Instead, he poured the water from the dirty glass into a clean one, which left us feeling uneasy. After we placed our order for drinks, appetizers, and entrées, we sat there for 20 minutes without seeing anyone--no waiter, no other guests, nothing. It was just us, sitting in silence on an empty rooftop with no service whatsoever. This was a complete 360 from our original experience, which was the reason we returned in the first place. Needless to say, we were highly disappointed and won't be coming back.Food: 1/5 | Service: 1/5 | Atmosphere: 1/5

My husband and I have dined here a few times now. We stumbled in one day just to try it out. We were beyond pleasantly surprised. We like a couple of restaurants in Avalon, but many of them just seem to be lacking (effort from staff, food, cleanliness etc). The Cape and its staff always make us feel welcome and like they are truly happy to have us in. That is an art that so many places lack nowadays. We appreciate all of their attention and effort that they make. We decided to eat upstairs and were told that they add gratuity to your bill automatically. As a former server from years ago, I don't have a problem with this. They are running up and down those stairs all night long. Carrying drinks and meals. The whole time we were waited on (every time we have been here), our servers are always so friendly and willing to answer our questions and offer suggestions as to what their favorites are. Our delicious drinks came out in a timely manner. Our drinks, a Paloma (which was excellently balanced, not on the sweet side, exactly how I prefer them) and an Old Fashioned. Which must have been delicious because he ordered a second! Followed by appetizers (shrimp ceviche, spicy tuna roll and bobotie crepes). The ceviche was outstanding. The chunks of fresh coconut, tomatoes and avocado (and some kind of little pepper with a snappy little bite) all perfectly played against one another! It was a perfectly balanced bite! The spicy tuna roll was of course so good. Not the star of our table though. The bobotie crepes were such a fantastic surprise. My husband enjoyed them so much. The crepes were delicate, yet they held the hardy combination of ground beef, raisins, spices and sauce wonderfully. They were a sweet and savory experience. Then on to entrees. I had the halibut with curry on coconut rice. Oh my heavens! Amazing! The fish was cooked to perfection. It flaked into thee best little bites, snuggled next to the rice (which honestly, I would have been tickled to have just a big ole bowl of the rice and sauce! That was for me, my favorite along with the ceviche). I didn't get to try my broccolini because at this point, I was so full from our appetizers and my entree (very happily satiated! But in the best kind of "I'm full" way! I didn't feel heavy or stuffed or uncomfortable like I would have if I ate the same amount elsewhere. That to me is such a testament as to How they are preparing our food. Simple fresh food prepared deliciously!). Let's not forget my husbands steak and frites with the chimichanga sauce. He's not one to get excited about food like I do. He did however, on his own accord use the words "outstanding" for his steak. It was cooked brilliantly medium rare. The chimichanga sauce was delicious (he popped some of that on my rice and it was so fresh tasting!). We always order dessert, but I was such a glutton with my appetizers and rice that I couldn't even think about coffee (we will have to go back and eat backwards next time! Pretty sure I said that the last time we were there). I don't know how to wrap this up! Other than we highly recommend The Cape. Oh and their bathrooms were so tidy and clean as well as the balcony and inside of the restaurant. Having a balcony open, it can get hectic but they managed a full balcony of tables (big and small parties) efficiently and always with pleasant demeanors. I do recommend that if you are eating inside that you take a little jacket or sweater (it feels amazing, but it can be a touch cold). Can't wait to go back! Definitely try The Cape if you haven't been. You will so enjoy your experience there! I hope you love it as much as we do!On a side note, I don't remember exactly what we ordered the last time we were there, except the spinach salad! And we both remember it and said at the time we were eating it, that it was hands down thee best spinach salad we had ever eaten. It was so well balanced. Crunchy. Salty sweet. Delicious dressing! Just a wonderful salad!!

While in Alpharetta recently, I stumbled across this little gem located in the Avalon and absolutely had to share the experience. The Cape is a chic coastal dining restaurant inspired by cuisine & wines from Cape Town, South Africa. They are open seven days a week, offering indoor and outdoor dining options. The rooftop patio features views of the entire boulevard and inside The Cape's main dining room is surrounded by colorful textured pillows, custom surf boards, and hanging botanicals that span across the ceiling; all designed to transport guests to a chic beach bungalow. Service was excellent and the food was superb. I'd recommend booking a reservation in advance and adding a bookmark for this restaurant. It's a unique experience not worth missing out on. I look forward to my next trip to GA just so I can go back and sample more of their menu offerings.

Very cute restaurant! Great if you're looking to try out a different type of cuisine and good drinks. For my entree I ordered the ostrich bolognese. It was delicious, seasoned well, and a large portion. The bobotie crepes and the frittura mista( fried halibut, calamari, and prawns) were ok but I've had better at the other South African restaurants.

I forgot the name of the cocktails we had but they were pretty good (Valentine's Day special cocktails not on the regular menu maybe). Food was not bad. Ostrich sliders were a bit salty. Unsure if the price was worth it. Our waiter was really really nice. We sat in the cute bubbles setup outside. Just be lucky enough that you do not have to share a bubble with a table full of drunk girls screaming everything they have to say at each other though.

The mussels were good. Heavy coconut milk flavor and needed a hint of salt l. The crab dip was good. The give you a decent amount and you can taste plenty of crab in every bite. The fried snapper was delicious. I love the peri peri sauce it came with. The steak frites my daughter had looked good and she said it tasted good. She says the fries were good and the salad it came with was dressed nicely. The passion fruit juice was good but way too sweet for my liking. My husband said his halibut was good. The restaurant wasn't very busy at the time we went and everyone was friendly. I would go back.

I love the upscale coastal décor but it still feels comfortable. The décor is clean and fresh but eclectic with lots of color. I've visited The Cape twice and the staff is always nice and willing to share their favorite dishes. I've tried a lot of dishes so here we go:Tuna tataki- The tuna is fresh and the dish had a nice hit of acid I appreciatedCrab dip- Nice and creamy and I love the choice of gruyere cheeseMussels- Mussels can get pretty basic so I won't say I loved them but the sauce had a really nice flavorOstrich sliders- This may be the one dish I didn't care for. It needed a little more flavor and the ostrich was dryHummus- One of the best I've hadSpicy tuna sushi roll- I didn't care for the sriracha but it's a good rollScottish grilled salmon- Sooo good and the addition of the capers and olives give it a Mediterranean flavor that I loved. This restaurant isn't close to me but I don't mind the drive for this kind of food and service.
