The Cajun Stop

So this is def a hidden Jem for sure .. their crawfish is amazing I loved that their under new management now .. the place is starting to look way better The customer service isn't the best because they don't have many worker ! The food though will make you not care ! Everything their is awesome sauce but that crawfish is too tier !

Ugh. This used to be one of my favorite places before the pandemic hellscape decimated everything. It got icky for a few years (not their fault, the lockdowns ruined everything), and then, miraculously, got delicious again. I WAS SO EXCITED. But. Alas. Tragedy has struck once more. For some unknown reason, they wasted a bunch of money on completely unnecessary cosmetic remodeling, and now the food and drink is so outrageously priced, I was torn between anger, heartbreak, and bitter, humorless laughter when I saw the current menu before walking out. The crawfish have more than doubled in price from the past year, which... okay, sure, inflation, supply chain, blah. BUT they've completely done away with the weekly specials, AND they jacked up the price on the tiny selection of alcohol they had, AND they weren't even having any Fat Tuesday specials at all. Lol silly me, going to a Cajun place for crawfish on Mardi Gras, what could I have possibly been thinking? It was good while it lasted, and I got so excited when I thought their food quality was making a comeback. Maybe it's still good, maybe it's not. I couldn't afford to find out. I definitely know crawfish taste better than tacky expensive neon interior lights though.Chalk this place up as one more tragic loss of an amazing downtown dive because they valued pretentious ambiance over what made them great to begin with.

This is their updated menu (2024). I ordered their crawfish for 8.99/lb in the butter garlic flavor with a medium spice level and it is just right!!! They're not too spicy or super mild. They are live and cooked to perfection. My order was complete in 10 minutes and the food was made fresh.

From the looks of the outside of the building, I almost drove past because it's in a parking lot with a bail bond place. Yet, it was so good. The service was awesome. And the shrimp po boy reminded me of Louisiana.

Sadly this was once a favorite of mine ..... the restaurant is dirty noo w wants to eat in an establishment that's not clean. The floors, sinks, windows , even napkin holders were dirty. The prices are good and they had pretty decent crawfish last season. The staff is young possibly teenagers that just don't care, rude, unprofessional. The owner and management need to do better and stay consistent please!

Fairly for items not being in season, they are pretty good, it was a fast stop, but I will try more next time, and repost this review.

Hello again! It's me coming from the 281 & 713 with a few pounds of one of my favorite crawfish spots. This time they forgot my celery, but Johnathan quickly corrected the error. There weren't many people inside dining today, but many people came in and took food togo! I'm gonna say it again if you haven't been already your better hurry before crawfish season is OVER!! The staff is friendly and very accommodating; just ask for what you need. If they can do it they will definitely make it happen.

Went back, service was very friendly. Crawfish was good. My first batch did not have enough spice or garlic. I wen back and ordered another pound and the loaded it up. The manager came and checked on us and gave us bread for dipping in the spicy garlic butter. It was not crowded at Saturday lunchtime.

The current location is in what looks to be an abandoned shopping center. So needless to say I was a little unsure but it was national crawfish day so we took a chance. SO glad we did. This place is a hidden gem. $8.99 per pound is a steal. And the crawfish was seasoned to perfection. Also tried the seafood platter. Fried shrimp & oysters were great but I'm pretty sure they gave me tilapia and not catfish as the menu states. There was also a bit of a fly problem in the bathroom but seafood places attract flys so I wouldn't hold that against them too much. Signed stated they were moving to a new location on Telephone Rd. Can't wait to check them out there too.
