The Boiling Crawfish & Seafood

A couple of friends I stopped by here one night for a birthday dinner. The service was okay, the staff was pretty friendly, and the food was just good...We had ordered two bags of crawfish, one that was spicy and one that was sweet, coconut milk snails, grilled cheese clams, and we had also ordered hot pot and lobster.I really enjoyed the hotpot more than the seafood. To be completely honest if you want to eat a seafood boil I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place, it's a bit mediocre. The sauce for the crawfish didn't hit the spot for me and the clams were extremely chewy (those were not my fave). However the owner gave us a couple of cups of free wine because we ordered so much, but honestly the wine wasn't that good either...

This restaurant is a hidden gem! Each seafood plates I ordered were all unique and so flavorful! The spices/sauces were so tasty. My favorite was the snail in a coconut curry sauce (middle with a boat dish). My friends and I went before their grand opening, so I can't wait to see what's to come. The staff are very quick, friendly, and helpful as well. The owner (I believe) even came up to my table to ask how the food was and asked for critique. I will definitely be coming back again soon!

Tonight's dinner devours come from yet another new kid on the seafood block! Boiling Seafood @boiling_sf is another fairly new restaurant in South Phila. This BYOB restaurant has really great service! The waitress was very nice and helpful while talking orders. The bathroom is really clean and smells really good lol. The decor is really nice and is fitting for long periods of eating. The menu was very easy to read. The Cajun Crawfish was absolutely amazing. They were full of flavor and very fresh! Literally a burst of flavor with every bite. Then it was the Sweet and sour (tomyum) Hot pot that came with fresh beef , squid , fish , shrimp , & yes more crawfish . The squad was really good! Full of fresh herbs and spices with a kick of heat to mellow out all the flavors. If you ever was some really good hot pot for a very very reasonable price? I love Vietnamese seafood style, but nowhere sells it until this restaurant open. Their food was so good, and the dipping sauces were awesome. You should ask for the sauces when you come here. I will come back multiple times.
