Texas Grill 49

TLDR; Texas Grill 49 dropped the ball a few times and made a poor first impression.This was my first time, first impression of Texas Grill 49 and they left an unpleasant taste in my mouth, so to speak. This review is for a pick-up order on a Tuesday night. I was treating my parents for any anniversary dinner and we decided to do take out and eat at home instead of dining in the restaurant. The place was completely empty except for about 5 employees who were very helpful and somewhat apologetic. This is not about them, I'm sure each of them gives good service and they were all very efficient with trying to right the wrong. This is about the kitchen at Texas Grille 49 messing up an order, twice AND THEN serving a wrong entree.When we arrived to pick up the order at the specified time, the restaurant did not have my order ready, in fact I suspect it wasn't even fired at that point. One of the servers responded quickly and communicated with the kitchen regarding this oversight. He took a photo of my order (from off of my phone) and at that point my order was made. I had ordered 3 entrees but only received two after waiting for ~10 or so minutes. I will say the food was hot and looked good from what I could tell. Immediately the third entree was fired at that point and I waited another 8-10 minutes while the first two entrees basically started dying in the to go bag. Chilean Sea Bass and Filet Mignon tend to be best served as fresh as possible. Of course this being a to go order we understood that it would likely not be as fresh as it would've been were we dining in. However, we didn't expect to have additional wait time for a forgotten dinner entree AFTER the entire order had been forgotten upon arrival.The unfortunate mishap continued, because when we got home the third order was not the Salmon I ordered for myself, but a decent sized white fish that tasted like a basic white fish (with that typical and subtle fishy after flavor); so NOT salmon. Overall the meal was fine. I honestly won't complain about taste and presentation, nor would I, being that it was a to go order served in styrofoam. Tbh, I don't think I would give them my business again, definitely not for a special occasion because as I mentioned this all happened when there were no guests dining in. You'd think the kitchen wasn't slammed or even moderately busy beyond food prep. I'll extend grace as sometimes kitchens have a rough start to their service. Hopefully it got better for others that chose to dine at Texas 49 Grille that evening.Addendum: The positives that I'll share were that the food was fresh and relatively tasty. The servers were ultimately helpful and their prices are pretty reasonable. My Dad enjoyed his steak, which was what we really cared about the most, (his birthday is the same day as my parent's anniversary). My Mom's fish was fine, as far as, the expected taste and so was mine, all things considered.

Hidden gem here. Divered far more than I was expecting. It had a touch of class with jazz music, a wine rack/selection, top notch service, and pretty damn good food!!! A pleasant ambiance. Started off with some Mango Margherita's, they were hands down the best ones I've ever had!!! Delish! Even the chips and salsas were amazing; one nice red salsa, and two small ones--one with a spicy green salsa (seemed like Serranos?) and the other was white, so of course I'm going to see what that's all about--it was some amazing blue cheese yummy sauce!?! Was not expecting that! They also brought us some complimentary pozole--delish!Anyhow. Shrimp cocktail for an appetizer--beautiful and plenty of shrimps with fresh avocado. I opted for the street tacos so I could try several of their meats--very fair priced (maybe $2.59 ea.). Got the chicken, el pastor (my least fav), and carnitas. My company got a Birria taco and a Brisket & cheese taco.We enjoyed it so much we forgot to get dessert! Next time! And thank you to our sweet little waitress, she tended to use very well and had amazing service!!!I will be back!Con-- it is a tad pricey for the larger entrees, but I think it's worth here because it's such a different style Mexican restaurant

Very nice place! I love the seating, the server was so kind, and the food was phenomenal.I enjoyed the soup and chips and salsa given before our food came out. The soup was flavorful like verde pozole and the chips and salsa came with 3 different salsas -- each were spiced well and the chips themselves were freshly made. We came for breakfast and got tacos, a burrito, and an omelette. Id like to come back, but we live out of the area.

I enjoy the many delicious options. And happy when in a group that we can take our time and not feel rushed to leave.

Best Tex-Mex restaurant I've been too! Our drinks are always cold and our food is always hot and delicious, and the service/ambiance is great as well!

This is by far not your average "Arandas" nor "Tepatitlan" food but far more better!!! This is more of an uptown restaurant with out the drive nor the parking problem!!! From there drinks to their desserts and everything in between these is amazing!!! If you want your traditional food drenched in cheese and sauce then this is not for you but if you want to experience something special than come on in!!!

Don't be fooled by the outside, your tastebuds will never forgive you. Outstanding service, and excellent Tex-Mex. We had a party of four, got seated immediately and everything came out fast. Beef empanadas app and fresh guacamole (served with fresh fried chicharones) were superb starters. I did the Tex-Mex enchiladas with red and green sauce - delicious and very filling. Others in the group had street tacos, chicken fajitas and a whole yardbird. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Decent prices for the quality you get, and the presentation on everything was impeccable.

Wow !!This is probably one of the best small restaurants I've gone to that is surrounded my neighborhoods and let me tell yall this place is a place that deserves to be visited and tried out . The outside does t look convincing the inside is normal , ambiance is calm and chill . The service A+ no complaints. The best part is definitely the food so here it is . This place is great for many reasons they have weekly specials on all food the burger tomorrow will be $7.99 Thursday it's a damn good burger they have drink specials weekly as well . They have a large menu with lots of items to choose from to start you will get chips and salsa and a Mexican style soup which are both great the soup is delicious the chips with salsa try the white salsa it's the best if you get water they will come out with fresh add ons for your water and ask what you will like that was already surprising to me to experience at a place like this , chips were super fresh and hot you will get good small food to munch on . Now If you're a foodie I would recommend get something off there weekly specials for the price it's better to try a bit more food for a starter we got the fish tacos the flour tortilla one was bigger and come with rice for $7.99 weekly special I will attach total at the end . We got a 12oz steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus it was very good only thing I'd say it needed a bit more seasoning other than that the mashed potatoes and steak were great don't worry about cold food , we got a Texas burger which was amazing fresh bacon melted cheese and 2 patties highly recommended and lastly the chicken poblano was amazing overall this place nailed it with all the different t foods they offer . The owner is a chef and his wife helps in the front great people he takes pride in cooking all his foods and the menu is big but I assure you that you will get some great food from burger to salads to red snapper to steaks everything is great . The weekly deals give you plenty to choose from I would highly recommend to visit this restaurant if you like new places I'd definitely go back for the specials and try more food . Located in the sagemont neighborhood. I highly recommend visit this place !!!! Very few times I run into a place that's worth it total was about $100 with tip . A lot of good fresh great quick service and plenty to choose from . The owners are great and take pride in there business all they need is more business daily because that's how it should be in there after to trying it out today no complaints here .

Fantastic place, great service, nice staff, exemplary food. This place is great for Mexican food, love all the flavors and options on the menu. Definitely a must try and a hidden gem. By far one of the best Mexican food in Texas.The nacho fries, chips and salsa and complimentary chicken pozole were amazing. The ribeye steak was phenomenal. Would definitely return, great food and excellent culinary skills. Everything was worth the price.

What a wonderful surprise!! Fresh fruit- strawberries and papaya as complementary appetizer with breakfast on Father's Day. The salad with my breakfast croissant was delightful!
