Branzino. Excellent.
Espresso Martinis to compare with the ones we just had at the Sbux Roastery! These were more like coffee liquor with sweeter note!

The ambiance is great! Whether you sit inside or outside the views/décor are top notch. On busy nights, servers might take awhile as they handle multiple big parties but are still relatively attentive. This place might be a bit loud for a first date but a decent spot for couples grabbing dinner. The food was a little underwhelming for the price. The lamb was done with a sweet balsamic vinaigrette but it was a bit too sweet and sour for the lamb. The bone marrow was not as soft as I am used too and not savory enough, they do give you bread to smear the marrow though. The turnips were my favorite part, perfectly seasoned so that you could taste the earthy turnip flavor on top of everything else. This place is a bit pricey but has great vibes.

I had dined at Terra Plata ages ago well before I was a Yelper. Tamara Murphy is a brilliant executive chef/owner that was part of Seattle's rising culinary scene back in the 1990s. I enjoyed her stint at Campagne and her previous spot, Brasa. No surprise that Terra Plata continues to be a successful restaurant on Capitol Hill, promoting Earth to Table with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I had been meaning to revisit and had that opportunity for dunch/linner 4pm reservation (12/3/23). Again, I lucked out with free nearby street parking. It was an oasis to arrive at Terra Plata after the crowds and din from the Seattle Christmas Market and the nearby Starbucks Reserve and Roastery earlier.Genuine welcoming vibe upon entering and when seated. I really enjoyed our personable wait person. We ordered four items. It was also great to sample bites. Definitely a place to come with a group in order to get a comprehensive taste of the menu, divided as starters, earth, sea, and land. We enjoyed the Harissa-Glazed Carrots and Baked Leek Gratin from the earth section, $15 and $18, respectively. The carrots also had hummus, feta, and drizzled with a honey glazed vinaigrette. The recommended leek gratin was spot on with chorizo, manchego, breadcrumbs, pickled red onions, topped with boquerones. I enjoyed the presentation and bright flavors. The College Friend leaned towards the Albondigas from the land section ($26), which were sizable veal and lamb meatballs with smoked pequillo pepper sauce, almonds, feta, sultanas atop fluffy lemon couscous. I thoroughly enjoyed the Whole Roasted Branzino from the sea section ($40) and amazing flavors from the bok choy, fennel-carrot salad with tomato-ginger butter. Wish I had saved a piece of the toasted bread from the gratin dish to sop up the delicious sauce. It was a nice touch to be offered assistance to debone the fish. I declined since I am able to do so without any hesitation. Fresh, tender filet from the head to tail fin. Lesson learned - don't let an OG not be part of your dining rotation. Revisiting Terra Plata was my refreshing reminder. Wished I had room for dessert, but had to pass after such a satisfying, tasty meal. Definitely recommended!

The food was exceptional. The service was slow (I was finished with my lunch before the drinks came) but they were pretty slammed. The place is super cute and comfy. They welcomed my table of 10 well! We will be back!

Came here with my friends on St. Patrick 's day. We had a reservation so we had no wait. The roof top is pretty amazing and the service was really good. The food is absolutely fantastic.

Continuing on my Seattle series: we Los Angelenos decided to reserve one very nice dinner and came across the New American cuisine of Terra Plata and decided to give it a try. We got seated 15min before our reservation in a beautiful outdoor patio area on the roof (which I recommend asking for as inside is quite stuffy even on a cold evening). However, this is where the service started to teeter off: it took them 20 minutes to serve us water and ask if we had any questions which was confusing given they were so welcoming in the beginning. I really don't expect excellence from service, but this was really disappointing and sub-par. Anyways, onto the food. For most dishes, this was a nice rebound from the service incident. We went with the shishito peppers, carrots, duck confit, halibut, and oxtail bolognese. The real standout dishes in my opinion were the duck confit and oxtail bolognese which were absolutely fantastic. Everything else was very parallel to other places I have been to that overcharge for average to good appetizers and entrees. I would go again for a very specific palette of food, but besides that, it was a very 4 star experience and hope their service was just a bump in the road for us.

Came here with coworkers during a work conference recently. They said it's best ordered family style so we got the beets, the brussel sprouts, the game hen and the olives. I am not a huge beets person but I gave them a try. They were golden beets and had a nice flavor. Others at the table who like beets said they were some of the best. I'm also not a huge Brussels sprout person but these were delicious and I really enjoyed them. The game hen was perfect to share and nothing beets warm olives! All were great and I will be back next time I am in town!

How can you not like roof top dining here in the city?! Ambiance was superb ... even the indoor dining is nice with seating next to floor to ceiling windows that are open to the activists on the street. The food was excellent. The big winner was their tomato dish.... That unexpectedly took me by surprise! Savory and juicy, delivering a mouthful of excitement Service was hit and miss. Some waitress just did not care one bit and looked angry being there. While the waiter was beaming with delight and took the time to go over the dishes.

Terra Plata reprints their menu daily, which I get so excited about. They boast fresh, local ingredients, and it shows in their colorful dishes. However, they fall a bit short in a number of ways for me. The top patio tables are so crammed. When we were seated, we were uncomfortably close and wanted to move, but also didn't want to be those people, so we stuck it out. They seemed a bit understaffed. Our server was training, so at least they seem to be taking care of it, but he only checked on us once throughout our entire meal and wasn't helpful at all. I ordered the crudo as my entree, and while it was fresh and delicious, it was very clearly an appetizer size - it would have been nice to have had a heads up. The $45 steak was absolutely terrible. It was so gristly that it took my partner 45 minutes to finish it, and she kept having to discard pieces from a lack of being able to chew them. For the most expensive item on the menu to be a fail is a huge red flag in my book. I do love that they offer a number of alcohol-free drink options like a sparkling wine and a rose (actually delicious), as well as a non-alcoholic negroni. They also have a good selection of items that can be made gluten free. After a disappointing meal, our bill came to $122 before tip. For 2 drinks, 2 apps, and an almost-inedible entree, we were a little disappointed to have to pay so much. We most likely won't be back.

Fantastic spot! Friend and I went for a late night dinner. Cute atmosphere that lends well to larger groups and more intimate settings. We opted to share plates - not sure if exactly designed in that way - but the potato chips were tasty with the truffle flavoring. The crudo was tasty, despite the coloring of the tuna. It made me slightly nervous but my friend thought it was delicious! We then did the baby gem salad that was light and refreshing! The star of the meal was definitely the lamb rib-lets with the lebnah (?). It was so flavorful that I was literally sucking the bones. We ended the meal with churros - hot out of the fryer! The food was flavorful and filling. What I appreciated was that it was a wonderful meal, but didn't feel overstuffed. I would highly recommend for a great meal, beautiful ambiance, and a great ending to your stay in Seattle.
