Went in to meet a co-worker for a meal. I was looking forward to Heirloom Tomato Salad but they didn't have the tomatoes. I told them I had a severe egg allergy so ordered the burger without the bun and put on toast. I'm guessing my burger was put on a place that had cooked eggs because I was extremely sick. The burger tasted good but when you ask to make sure it is free of all allergens it makes it difficult to write a decent review. I had also ordered the hummus plate which was very tasty with some fresh veggies. Service was ok.

It is always a risk to eat at a hotel's restaurant. It is hit or miss. Usually it batting average would find itself at the bottom of any MLBs line up at .200. This player is likely to be benched, return to, or become a AAA player and/or be replaced by a AAA player. FOOD:My hamburger came out cold. But, even thought eh waitress asked us several times how thing were, I just ate it. Giving it back to the kitchen would have been a risk that I wouldn't have seen it until after midnight. I think it was undercooked too. SERVICE:Bottom line, I am pretty sure that forgot our order. We sat for about 45-minutes before we recovered any of our food. Patrons that arrive much later than we did seem to get their food well before we did. I had to ask for our drink at about the 35-minute mark. We thought about leaving. We should have. But, we thought it would take another hour before we are somewhere else. So, why go now? To be fair the waitress felt really embarrassed and comped the appetizer. Once we pointed out it had been 45-minutes, the damage control scramble was on. It happens. We understand. But it shouldn't. AMBIANCE:The restaurant appears to be more of an after thought than a well-thought out, school theme, cafe. Instead of typical school cafe staples like your favorite athlete rocking a Got Milk? 'Stache on a poster, and SMART goal charts poorly laminated on the walls, they went for a modern minimalist feel. It was a bit awkwardly place, just left of what I believe was Hotel Slate's front desk.

Not sure the reviews matched the experience I had. It was just a hotel restaurant and bar. I had the cesar salad and bison bites, which were both average. There are way better hotel restaurants in the area than this one.

Came here on a Friday night. Look for The Slate, as a tad hard to find but no reservation needed. This spot is located inside The Slate, by Hilton. Seems like a nice calm hotel. It used to be a school and a lot of the integrity/architecture remains intact. I love that is themed. Very neat spot. It is a quiet restaurant, great for a business dinner or date night. The do have valet in the front. The menu is fairly limited, and the drinks are premade however the presentation and taste were on point. Our server was great, she was attentive and personable. Food and drinks came out in a few short minutes. We only had a couple items, but we tried enough to want to come back. The only downside was that the public restrooms were far down a flight of stairs. I'm sure they have elevators but I didn't see them. Overall strong 4/5 stars!

Good quality and tasty eats.Burger and fries were done with nice fresh crisp ingredients and cooked to my request. The tenders were great in mixing cocktails and special requests. In the Hilton Slate Denver which is an old education school converted into a hotel.Lots of school references in the location and rooms are small but nicely appointed and stocked.

Absolutely making food, the service was amazing, and the fact that it's in an old trade school that's on the historical registry makes this place a must go to! Don't leave Denver without checking this place out!

Love the history of the building (Emily Griffith Opportunity School). Teacher's Lounge is found inside The Slate Hotel. Cute theme. Their cocktails are based on Crayola Crayon colors. Our bartender was very friendly and helped us in making appropriate cocktail choices based on what we prefer. Cocktails were flavorful and had many layers. Unfortunately the cornbread was not.

Hotel restaurants used to be mediocre, well, at least most that I've been to... Not any more! Competition has driven them upwards! And this one is a great example. First impression is this is a convenient restaurant inside The Slate hotel; but after dining there for a week, I think the cuisine is delicate and creative, with a high end restaurant flare! But their prices are okay - not cheap but certainly at par with some of the nicer eateries in the area (I've tried quite a few during my week long stay in the hotel here). I'd highly recommend the Peach Burrata - heavenly delicious and a great appetizer or snack. The tacos were good too. The bison short ribs - tender, taste and complete the Colorado experience! Breakfasts are great with many choices. Loved their green chili scones! Super attentive staff! Fast, polite, and cordial! I appreciate their hard work! Especially when it's busy. Ambience is relaxing and cozy. I loved the high tables next to the windows and the living room style sofa and coffee table area. Overall a great restaurant that can stand on its own, with our without the nice hotel.

Came here for a quick breakfast before checking out of the Slate Hotel. I had already used some of my Hilton Honors food and beverage credit, but with what I had leftover, I paid about $14 out-of-pocket for a yogurt bowl and cappuccino---sounds lean, but it was actually quite the meal!My server was friendly and offered me a seat by the window. My yogurt bowl came with a heaping scoop of yogurt, topped with almond granola, and a fruity jam. It was definitely a meal!My cappuccino had just enough foam and plenty of coffee. The ambiance of the restaurant is open, inviting, and very modern. I could tell the patrons that were dining at the same time I was there were really enjoying their time.

Simple menu in a clean, spacious, modern setting. Nobody else was here, although we came slightly after a little after 1pm. The restaurant is inside The Slate hotel off of 13th street. Quesabirria TacosChile braised bison meat, with a very mild red sauce on the side. I love the crunch of the corn tortillas although the texture is quite oily. You really have to douse the taco into the sauce for flavor. Buttermilk fried chicken sandwichI'm not a fan of the honey glaze with sour pickles and what is really a very well prepared tender chicken thigh, it's just a little weird. Comes with a hefty portion of brioche fries. Lemongrass chicken soup Reminiscent of dark colored Asian herbal soup (not usually a positive) although stocked well with chicken pieces, cilantro, cabbage and mushroom. Elote Fries A large mound of crunchy fries with corn bits (need more), cotija cheese and sriracha crema, makes for a dish with a lot of action. Service is polite and food came normal speed. Restrooms really hard to find - better just ask for directions. That's all....
