I was excited to stumble upon this new restaurant! It was very authentic walking in, from the smell to the language to the decor.I got the vegetarian tao rice roll and the royal milk tea. They took a while to come out so they were definitely made to order. I enjoyed both so much. The tea was light and flavorful and sweet. The rice roll was flavorful and crunchy. I like that they had so many non-meat options!

I decided to stop by Tao roll and give them a second chance since I had ordered door dash years ago. Their food is best fresh rather than delivery. I ordered the eel rice roll and the sesame yu tao pancake. The wait was at least 15-20 minutes for the pancake to come out, and I was uncertain why it took so long. Definitely order ahead. I really enjoyed the eel role. It was fresh and had a good amount of eel and pork floss wrapped in a thick layer of sticky rice. For $6 it was cheaper than a sushi roll. There's not much decoration inside and the service is basic. But I really like the food and will come try a different roll next time.

I stopped by a bit before closing time. The owners were nice and took my order despite it looking like they were about to close. I got the traditional Taiwanese roll and the sausage roll. Both are pretty good. I felt like the rice probably could have been rolled a little bit tighter. It was falling apart a bit as I started chow down, but overall the flavor was pretty good. I'm a huge fan of Taiwanese rice rolls and they're kind of hard to find since they're a niche food item, so I'm really happy that there's still a place in Houston that's doing it authentically. Going to be back to try other items on the menu but I do feel like it's nothing special to write home about it just scratches an itch when I'm craving tyron's food.

I'm recent years I've stopped posting negative reviews of places due to my personal preferences unless I feel like an establishment is either dangerous or predatory. That being said, this place gave me food poisoning. I know it was them because it was a few hours after I ate there and I had nothing else to eat that day. I love salty soy milk and fantuan and was so looking forward to trying this place. The fried donut stick has a chemical taste and aroma to it that I couldn't quite place except to say I've smelled it in bathrooms before. I don't know if it was an off day or what but I would be remiss if I didn't warn people about the potentially unhygienic practices of this place that could make you sick.

Wonderfully crispy and hot! Highly recommend ordering ahead over the phone because we did not do this and it took 40 minutes to get our food. Seems like a lot of people order ahead. The rice roll is fresh with crispy flakes inside and LOADS of rice. I tried the eel and it was insanely good. Highly recommend. The double egg pancake was kind of mid but still good. Might not get it again. Vibe was fine haha like eating at a Taco Bell vibe. Just kind of in and out nothing fancy but also nothing wrong with it

Craving Taiwanese breakfast we decided to pick up some food on the way back home. With the tips from other Yelpers we placed our order online for pickup, but just know you do pay for this convenience as some items are more expensive vs in store. Yet, I highly recommend this as you get to bypass the long wait inline but there might still be a slight wait to flag down someone to help you grab your food.We ordered both the Traditional and the Eel roll. Out of the the two I found the Traditional Roll with a variety of things but wished there was a bit more of it. However it was a fun surprise to see they mixed the rice with some purple rice. The Eel roll on the other hand held up much better and overall tastier with the delicious eel sauce. For both the rolls I was a bit disappointed they didn't use a full dough stick and instead had a few pieces sprinkled in, so the crunch factor I was used to was missing. Luckily we ordered a dough stick on the side which was fairly crispy but literally gushed oil with each bite.Salted Soy Milk was served hot and this honestly tasted like a soup to me, pretty flavorful and authentic tasting. I wished they put the dough sticks on the side as they were so soggy by the time we got to them. However, for the Small Bowl Noodles they separated the soup from the dried ingredients and would actually suggest to immediately dump the soup into the noodles (if you don't mind a soggier egg/crispy onions) as it takes time for the broth to really penetrate the noodles. The leftover we ate the following day was so much more flavorful than when we first got it.Overall, I'd probably say 3.5 stars but I round to 4 as there aren't too many options for Taiwanese breakfast and just happy to have it available! I think next time I order I have a better idea of what to get/ avoid as when you order online there aren't any descriptions to go with the picture. I actually was so fixated on the rolls that next time I plan to try the pancake as the lady making them made it look quite tasty!

New breakfast spot unlocked! Stopped by this place that has been on my to-visit list finally this past weekend, and I was not disappointed after the long anticipation! The service is nice, the lines were manageable, and the vibes were worth extra points. You can see them make the items in front of you through the open kitchen concept, and that was an experience in itself. I ordered the classic tao rice roll and the double egg pancake, both were amazing in texture and taste! If you are visiting with a friend and want to taste more than one item, you can ask for them to cut the rolls in half. Pictured is the double egg pancake, and sorry, the rice roll was soo good that I forgot to stop to take a picture after the first bite. Pro tip: For the double egg pancake, I requested an additional fried stick (油条), which cost extra, but well worth it! You also have the option for spicy or non-spicy, or spice in to-go container on the side.Pro tip #2: there is a nearby outdoor seating area in the plaza with artsy picnic tables if you crave some sunshine and fresh air instead of dining indoors. Highly recommend!

Stopped by Tao Rice Roll about 30 minutes before they closed and they were sold out of all pancake. Got a rice roll- the traditional one which comes with pork floss, egg, fried stick, dried radish, mushroom meat. I liked the crispy bites in the rice roll and the flavor was delicious. Price point decent as well! Located in a plaza with shared parking.

Wanted something for breakfast that was not a doughnut or a bagel. Wanted something salty and savory and not sweet today. This was a very good option. They made it fresh in about a minute. I got the Taiwanese rice roll with salty eggs, sausage, and pork floss I really like that they have a good bilingual menu。 if you don't know what a rice roll is, think of it as a Japanese hand roll. Just a lot thicker and heartier with lots of meat (unless you pick one without meat). I am definitely not a vegetarian and it fits deliciously in my hand. Great to have when you're driving and you are starving. you can hungrily scarf it down. It's been a while since I've had one of these! Yum!!!

PSA: they close at 3pmLocated inside the same place as Happy Zone The Tao rolls are so unique and delicious! Think of it like a burrito, but minus the the tortilla. It's rolled with seaweed paper and rice to keep the shape and inside there's different type ingredients you can choose from. I chose the traditional Tao roll that contains pork floss, fried stick, egg, mushroom meat, and dried radish, but instead of regular white rice, I subbed out for purple rice for an extra $0.50. It was very flavorful and filling. The pork floss gives it a savory flavor and the radish gives it a nice crunch and a bit of saltiness. The fried stick is a must, provides an extra layer of crunchiness and it was perfectly fried. Think of a fried stick almost like a fried Asian donut stick. My daughter opted to try the sesame pancake. If you like crispy texture foods, this is it! It has a flaky crust almost like a filo dough filled with a thin egg crepe and the fried stick. My daughter ate every crumb! We will be a returning customer!
