Tacos have the perfect amount filling (a lot). I ordered pollo, asada, and barbacoa- the pollo was a bit drier than the others, my favorite is always asada. The cilantro and onion distribution is super generous to match the amount of meat given. The double tortilla is sturdy and stands up to the weight of everything well. I'm looking forward to returning and trying some other menu items! Tacos are just over $3 each. Also comes with grilled onions.

Tacos El Nino is a great option if you're looking for food late at night in Chapel Hill/Carrboro. They serve up authentic Mexican food at a really affordable price and their portions are huge. Their service is pretty quick and there are a few tables near the truck where you can eat outdoors.I got a Chicken Torta, which is basically a sandwich, and it can easily feed two or three people. I also got a Barbacoa Taco and it includes two skins. Here's a pro tip: split the meat that's included onto both of the skins so you end up with two tacos! The Barbacoa was delicious but I wouldn't suggest getting the Chicken; it's a bit dry and not as flavorful as their other protein choices.TLDR: A bang for your buck! Affordable and delicious Mexican street food.

Tacos El Niño is an authentic Mexican food truck. Phenomenal portions for the price and great food overall. I got the tacos de pollo and the chicken & salsa were both super tasty. The service was fantastic, too. Will definitely be coming back to try the Al Pastor Burrito!

This rating is strictly for the hot sauce. I got carne asada tacos: fair to midlan. The horchata: delicious. That Xxtacion hot sauce? SO GOOD!!!! I grabbed some xtra on a hunch and added it to my rice and beans for dinner next day. BUSSIN!!!Service: impeccable; recommend.

Solid choice for late night food after the bars. Portions are a little small compared to other food trucks in the area, but at 1am you get what you get

Tacos El Nino is one of the go-to places after a night out in Chapel Hill/Carborro. Loaded with all the classic items, El Nino has all the parts of an authentic taco truck experience and at an affordable price as well. The staff is super friendly and you get your food in a reasonable amount of time given the made to order style. I got the burrito and the elote. The burrito was huge and definitely worth it but the elote was not on a cob and instead on a cup every time I got it. Overall, it was a great food truck experience and I am definitely going again!Overall:Food: 8/10Price: 9/10Service: 9/10Environment: 9/10Would I go again? Yes

The location was easy to find and had plenty of parking. The owner and the workers were all really kind and helpful. Their drinks are fantastic! And the prices are great: $2 for a taco, $1-2 for a drink depending on the size, and $4 for a Sopé. The tacos tasted good but the chicke was a little dry and lacked some flavor. But I'd come here again for their drinks and a quick bite. *************Update:I went back and got their shredded beef taco and boy were they good! The meat was juicy and tender and had some great flavors. And the steak tacos were good af!! They definitely put some love in their cooking.

First time trying Tacks El Niño, and it was great! The pastor burrito was gigantic and the meat was well marinated. It came with a side salad that was nice and crunchy from the radish, which is a little bitter but I liked it. I got a large horchata, which was delicious, but a little bit sweeter than what I'm used to. I had to put it in a glass mason jar when we got home so I wouldn't accidentally puncture the large styrofoam cup with my fingers 10/10 would go again!

I was really looking forward to trying a new food truck but I feel like this one just did not meet my expectations. The tacos are super affordable but poorly seasoned. I ordered the fish tacos which were served with some cilantro and onion, but nothing special. Looking at the other reviews it sounds like I should've tried their burritos!

Chicken tacos - Taco meat is shredded but was very dry and no seasoning. The tamales that I traveled 25 mins for were dried from being rewarmed. The Masa was gritty and stuck to the corn husks. The texture was horrible and the same dried out chicken was in the Tamal. My bf ordered the fish taco.He enjoyed that!
