Supreme Gumbo

The home of the GUMBO DIP TACOS!!!! It is an experience all by itself!!!I was number 3 in line on a Thursday. There are sooo many rules but I have to admit they are friendly and keep smiles on their faces. All of the staff were working diligently. I ordered the starter kit $25.00It includes 3 tacos and one bowl of gumbo The tacos come fresh to order. The fillings are mixed and then placed in a tortilla on the grill and cooked to perfection Then you get a bowl of seafood (shrimp), chicken and sausage with rice. The roux base of the gumbo is really tasty and favorable. I would surely recommend this place. It is great. My favorite part is dipping my taco in my gumbo. Yes I admit being from New Orleans I was reluctant but I have to admit you really been in that kitchen with BIG MOMMA

The food is indescribably delicious! Their specialty items are the gumbo tacos with gumbo. You dip the tacos in the gumbo and taste the deliciousness! I ordered the starter pack which is 3 tacos and a cup of gumbo. They have other items on the menu but was only selling tacos and gumbo Saturday.But be sure to get there early because the lines start before the place opens. I was there an hour before they opened and the line had already started. I brought a lawn chair because standing in the heat for an hour was not cutting it. They did come out and gave everyone a cold bottle of water. I thought that was a very nice gesture. Also, if you don't get there early there is no parking. You can park across the street, limited spaces or on the streets down the street. They operate out of a gas station/convenience mart so there is no place to stay, to sit down & eat.Which is an inconvenience if you live far, food does not taste the same reheated at a later time, especially tacos. But you can sit and eat in your car if you want it fresh. I would go back again and definitely recommend it to others. The food is everything.

Ordered the gumbo tacos and we weren't disappointed in the flavor and texture of the tacos. We'll seasoned and cooked perfectly. The taco's were dipped into a cup of gumbo and added a nice flavor to the taco. Extremely pleased with the meal. The owners are awesome and very generous with customers. Highly recommended

We visited Supreme Gumbo while doing our YouTube channel review of the top gumbo spots in Houston (according to Yelp rankings.) We had also been recommended this place by another YouTube couple, and this was when Supreme Gumbo was operating out of a gas station. Unfortunately, at the time their address had not been updated, so we ended up at the gas station where the clerk didn't even know what Supreme Gumbo was. We found the correct address and headed in for some gumbo.They have a decent selection of seafood dishes, but we were there for the gumbo. The wife is your typical Louisiana gumbo snob, so I knew the scrutiny would be on and poppin. Well, unfortunately Supreme Gumbo did disappoint. Most confusingly, the gumbo looked and smelled exactly as we would expect, but the flavor was way off. Parts of the trinity were missing and we weren't even sure there was file in it. Low rating on the gumbo but we've been planning ever since to return and check out their other menu offerings.Most seating is outdoors, which has a patio vibe with some table games and such, so this would be a good hangout spot.

Let me start by my saying this place's pictures on Facebook look amazing! Parking sucks big time and the line inside is ridiculously long. Look at my picture with the line outside. The line starts forming before they are open.The tacos were an interesting idea and pretty tasty. The bowl of gumbo was a tad too salty for my taste. I would consider trying out more food from this place if they relocate to their own space. Would not deal with the parking and lines again.

I tried the gumbo and yeah it's good but is it the best , naw not really. I've tried many gumbos far and wide from Louisiana and texas and this didn't disappoint (considering this came from a small comvinient store) I personally prefer a thicker Roux but that's just preference. The Hispanic Lady behind the counter was cool af and I'll come back to try some more.

There's a gas station that sits on the corner of Almeda and Southmore. There's also a restaurant that sits in this place. That's Supreme Gumbo. The day I went, I was willing to spend a bunch of money. Unfortunately the the fryer was out this day. So only two things were available: Gumbo and Gumbo Tacos. Gumbo. In the summertime. Normally, I would cringe at the fact that this is a no-no but since this place would have a line wrapped around it at times, it was time for me to see what the fuss be about.LOOK HERE! THAT GUMBO IS FIRE! Chunks of chicken, sausage and shrimp in every spoonful! The roo in that is so dark, you can paint a wall with it! But it so well seasoned to not have to put anything else in that cart out bowl but rice! The best gumbo I've tasted in a long time!

Total waste of time. Drove all the way over here to try this place for the first time on a Sunday at 12:00 noon. Online it says that they're open but they are obviously not. People have to do better.

Hospitality was kind!. FOOD NOT SO KIND. I'm a chef from New Orleans and just visiting Houston for the Weekend.. I cannot recommend this place the gumbo was SALTY and tasted they used italian season, not to mention the base the of the gumbo was way too watery. I'm so disappointed and sad again what a disappointment

After viewing their Facebook advertisement a few weeks ago I decide to try the establishment. To my disappointment there ad states they open at 11 am. I commute 30 minutes to discover they don't open until 1 pm and close when they run out of food. Another customer walking out before me shaking his head saying "I drove all the way from Rosharon and they are not open" Update your website with the correct information
