Decent place to get some soul food or Jamaican food if you're in the area. I've only been to the actual restaurant once a few years ago, but have also ordered food to-go. The prices are decent and the food is pretty good, but nothing to write home about. It's worth a try, but not my favorite.

Dear Raleigh Yelpers: Be amazed that I went to a new locally owned business and reviewed it first!Having received an email with a menu with items such as fish and spaghetti, chicken and waffle, and shrimp, turkey wings, porkchops, chicken, and/or fish with grits . . . well I had to give it a try.The business has been open for about three weeks. I arrived for lunch around 11 a.m. - and I was THE lunch customer! I ordered the smothered chicken and grits - fried white meat chicken over grits with gravy. Any southerner knows you have to do grits rights, and this place nailed it! No little cup of grits - it covered the plate and were done perfectly. The chicken was tender and juicy. Wonderful presentation as well on a red squared plate. The sweet iced tea was made from some concentrate - you could tell it wasn't brewed tea. The serving time was about 30 minutes. I would suggest that if they want to have a steady lunch business they may want to have a simplified lunch menu with fewer choices so folks can get in and out on their lunch hours.Lovely facility. Lots of red and black in the design. Second floor has VIP booths and another bar with an aquarium. The lounge I believe is open after 10 pm on weekends.

Went out for a birthday celebration and I was definitely taken back by the "gogo dancers/ strippers" just throwing themselves at all the men in the booth. G-H-E-T-T-O, won't be back!

If I could rate this a "0" I would. I love the food here it's usually always consistent and great. But went on a Sunday and specifically asked prior to ordering if they had cornbread and were told they did. Ordered our food to find out 30 minutes later ...no cornbread, no MAC and cheese, no fries. Jeeezzzzz!!! We complained and no type of customer service to make things right, then still charged 15% gratuity. No manager on site to speak with. Will DEFINITELY NOT BE BACK. Very bad customer service.

Was very excited to get Caribbean food during my visit here from New York. Hours on the website & yelp were completely different. We pulled up close to 11 on a Sunday & they were closed. Very disappointed about that

The food was average. The atmosphere was decent. It's a very small area. There isn't much to say that would set Starbar apart from other places I've been. I had jerk chicken which was messy, Mac and cheese was okay and the collards were under seasoned. The waitress was pleasantly nice and checked on us often. The merlot was delicious!

I went here on Sunday. A lot of the sides were not prepared or in the process of being cooked. I ordered the shrimp, not the curry, but the other choice (can't remember) with macaroni and collard greens. The greens had too much vinegar to me, my friend liked them though. The macaroni was good as well, but the juice from the shrimp sauce and greens all came together and made the macaroni soupy. My meal was okay. The portions were good. My friend got the fried shrimp and it was very good. The service was good. The lighting is really low and the music is a hip hop/r&b/gospel upbeat then sad type of playlist.

20 at the door is crazy . It was .y friends birthday. Once we gave the 20 to uncle ruckus with the gold tooth the club won't even jumping no one was dancing. Music was lame. Lastly wendy Williams at tye bar was rude and disrespected me and forced us to get patron. Worst bar never going back I try to support businesses like thus but it's not even popping. The only good thing about this place was the bottle girls they were sweet and of course gorgeous.

This ain't a strip club, it's a sports family place with 12+ TV's, sell liquor and a slough of food.

What a flop!. They expected me to pay $30 for a no name dancehall dj with obviously no crowd following, no more than maybe 7 people inside. The security guard couldve worked remotely from home .The few people who did pay, bored & outraged left upset, some blurting out in the parking lot theyve been ripped offI actually got to hear the dj literally BEG the last patrons not to leave him alone . Pathetic. They should feel ashamed theyre scamming people into thinking it's a nightclub.
