Splendora Cafe & BBQ

The food was southern comfort mixed with bbq and a few Mexican food items. The service was amazing and the 2 bartenders were a lot of fun! When my friend and I walked in, the entrance reminded us a little bit of Salt Grass Steakhouse. I will be coming back again and especially for the Grand Margarita and the Black Jacks Lemonade!

The food was so homestyle and great definitely recommend going there the atmosphere was good very country like. The service was even better they stayed on top of everything which I loved too.

The last time I was there, I ordered the fried catfish. It was pretty gross. It was like soft. It didn't look fully cooked. I sent it back and the same thing with the replacement. It wasn't good. I won't order the fish again and I won't order their chicken fingers either. They were so tough, I couldn't eat them. But the brisket is great.

The ambiance and service here are nice. However, the food can be summed up in two words: LACKS FLAVOR. I came with a friend and I got a grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings. I never thought I would meet an onion ring I didn't like, but these onion rings are flavorless. The chicken was the same. I tried to add sauces but couldn't salvage it.My friend got chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. He said the same about his food. The steak was tough, the batter was flavorless. The potatoes and green beans were just sad. The beans tasted like they opened the can and served those without adding any seasonings. I wanted to like this place but we left most of our food on the plate and won't be back.

When thinking quality- it's about the same as a school cafeteria. They do not know how to sub a salad, so they charge full price extra if you are not wanting fried food. The sides are basic, not good. Honestly I have no clue how this dump stays in business. Poor management. No beer selection. Be warned- do NOT order the buffalo chicken bites. They are basically the discarded bits, breaded and fried, with subpar sauce.

I know I have reviewed this place before but I can't find my review. The food here is great. I've had the burgers, the chicken breast with sides and the chicken fried steak. The salad bar is always fresh and the staff is wonderful. It is, however a little expensive but you do get large portions.

I've been to Splendora on a couple of occasions to dine in and was pleased with the food and service (the bbq sauce is severely lacking). My daughter and I even ordered the stuffed potatoes once.As recently as last night, we ordered again as I had a taste for some ribs. When I checked the orders, everything looked to be in place until I got to mine - I ordered the meat sampler with 3 meats - but it looked like I only got 1 and a 1/2?!?! I ordered double ribs and I definitely didn't get what I ordered....Oh well, another restaurant off the delivery list....

First visit & won't be the last. Service was incredible but the food is magnificent! I had the 3 meat bbq, comes with 2 sides, a salad from the salad bar so you get what you want plus toast or roll. The ribs & brisket were so tender as was the turkey. Potato salad & green beans were awesome. Sides were generous in size. And price was the best surprise. Love it
