Love this place! It's always so nice and clean in here. The restaurant is pretty with a lot of natural light and greens all around. The food is constantly good. I always ordered Nam Khao and papaya salad here. The Nam Khao with the satisfying crunch and a balance of savory, sweet and sour never disappointed me. The papaya salad I think is the best here. They have different levels of spicy too. I tried the plater this time and the pork belly was so good. Crunchy and juicy at the same time. I ordered take out this time. I was worried that it won't be as good but it was still delivered. They packed everything so nice and secure. Also gave me extra cabbage and sticky rice. The server took the order online was really nice and helpful. She did everything I asked for. My friends can't eat onions and I do. I mentioned it and she gave me onions on the side. Usually they just take onions out, that made me happy. If you're in the mood for some Lao or Thai food you should definitely give them a try!

Snackboxe Bistro is a quaint little restaurant with a lot of Laotian decoration. My friends and I got there later in the evening, so because it was not as busy, the service was just okay.I ordered the Pork Belly Combo and shared the Khao Chee with my friends. I did not know what to expect with the Khao Chee, but it is a crispy egg omelette with sticky rice. It tasted alright, but it did not have a strong flavor to it. The Vegetable Egg Roll in my combo plate was pretty good, but I thought the Pork Belly was a bit too fatty? It might have been because I got there late so maybe the remaining batch of Pork Belly were the lower quality cuts. I also thought the Papaya Salad was really spicy. I can usually handle spice and I think I got a more mild spice level, but it had such a strong kick that I was unable to taste the Papaya Salad. My friends got the Chicken and Beef Laap and really liked it! So I might come back and trying something else.

Nice Laotian decor.Attentive staff. The traditional Laotian food quality gets 2 stars, the papaya salad had been marinating too long, and the "crispy" pork belly fried too long. Snackboxe bistro was a disappointing food experience.

I must have came on the worst weekend. Upon trying to order online and nothing going through, I checked to see if they were open. I saw that they were so I called, and no one picked up. So now I thought that the only way to get an order in was to go pay Snackboxe a visit. I didn't know, but they closed their original location in Doraville which made me sad. I would have thought the prestige of getting a bib gourmand and the status of getting on the Michelin guide they would be flourishing...Let's start off with what happened when I got there. I placed our order at 3:40PM and there was another take out order ahead of us. They ordered 4 items and were already there for 35 minutes. By the time I learned that, I had already ordered, but logically I thought if it took them that long (40 minutes) to get an order out it should be half the time for what we order because I only got 2 dishes...right? Nope. We decided to head out to get some boba, thinking that our order would be waiting for us when we got back. When I got back, the order still wasn't ready. By this time we were hitting about an hour in since I placed my order of two items. They were super understaffed the weekend that we came here and I feel bad for the front staff. The kitchen staff must have been one person working back there. It takes a lot to get on the bib gourmand, but I guess the lesson here is that it takes even more to just keep up with the popularity. I really, really, really hope that Snackboxe corrects the mistakes of under staffing and that management really sees the issues that's going on and staff the restaurant accordingly. The original restaurant location never had these issues, and it makes me sad to see that closing that location and fully focusing on the second location resulted to this experience. In the end, they apologized and said that they were going to fully refund the order. I'm a bit hesitant as far as if they'll keep their word, but I think they will. On my end I'll probably take the extra step and check the credit card, but we'll see if they'll hold onto their word. Waiting for an hour for 2 dishes I think was a little bit too crazy, but they were trying so hard to just keep up it felt like there were just no one in the kitchen. This won't be my last visit, but I won't be back for a while until these issues are fixed.

The location in Doraville was one of our regular spots since they opened. Our out of town family members come every time they are in town. So it was sad to hear they closed the OG location. The Saturday we came they were clearly understaffed. We tried to place an order on the website but it never went through despite our multiple attempts (we found out later that they were pausing orders due to being so behind orders). We tried calling and no one picked up (when we waited for our order, we saw that the phone was never picked up because no one was manning the front, and if they were up front, they were trying to figure out people's delayed orders). We ordered, waited 15 min, left to get something down Pleasant Hill, came back, and our food was still not ready yet. 1 hour later and our 2 dishes were still not done yet. We ended up canceling our order. I don't blame the staff, they were doing their best and clearly overwhelmed. Please provide your workers with more support in the kitchen and front of house.

Such a good Lao restaurant! Definitely recommend it if you like Southeast Asian food and are willing to branch out to try the flavors and cuisine Laos offers. I tried the squid on a stick (8/10), chicken skin (7/10), steak special (9/10), Mok Pha (8/10), Thai tea (10/10), and pandan brownie ice cream (10/10). I would definitely come back and try their wings and Nam Khao. I went on a weekday for dinner, and it was packed. You can tell people love this place, and there is a reason why! I would say the meals are fairly priced and free parking!

LOVE the crispy pork belly and Thai tea here. The food is incredible (Michelin guided proves right), and the portions are on the larger side. Service varies, but the staff aren't nice or mean. Expect a bit of a wait for your food. The restaurant itself is decorated with a Laotian ambiance, and it's kept very clean!

Ordered a Khao Poon to go. Had no real expectations going into it. Counter service was courteous and swift. After getting home and unpacking everything smelled great. Without knowing the nuances of the cuisine the closest description would be a mashup of rice noodles, but not pho rice noodles. The noodles from Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle on Pleasant Hill are a better match. Otherwise the veggies are the same as what you might get with pho, bean sprouts, mint leaves, etc. The broth is like you took a Thai red curry and watered it down to soup consistency instead of a thick gravy. The mix of flavors and textures were enjoyable, familiar, and yet new. It was a definite win. You may never have noticed this place in the corner of the shopping plaza, but you'll be missing out if you ignore it.

The restaurant isn't huge, and is kind of tucked away in a corner that isn't very noticeable, but it's so tasty, there were lots of people that visited when we were there on a random Wednesday for lunch. Here's what I had and man do I recommend everything:Grilled Squid - The grilled squid comes with a spicy dipping sauce, but it was grilled with some sort of marinade and it's delicious with or without imo. But if you want the extra spice and flavor be sure to dip it!Papaya Salad - Shredded green papaya salad with garlic, tomatoes, spicy red chili peppers, fish sauce, and lime juice. The spicy papaya salad was impressive! As it wasn't insanely sweet like a lot of Asian restaurants make it here in the states.Khao Poon - Khao Poon is a spicy red coconut curry vermicelli rice noodle soup. It is served with with pork and chicken at Snackboxe bistro. I have to say - this noodle soup is SO GOOD!!! 5 stars for sure! The flavor of the soup was so delicious, and I must say it does have a kick to it so if you don't like your food with some heat, you might have to ask for some adjustments.Service can be kind of slow, but food is well worth it!

This place is a gem! My car dealership guy brought me here while they were fixing my car. I took his recommendation and ordered the pork belly laap which was sooo flavorful. It's fried pork belly served on lettuce and tossed in a lime, spiced, cilantro and red pepper coating w red onion. Y'all it is so bomb! The fried chicken skin is fire as well. Mainly because if you don't eat pork it's a fun snack to have as well as the fried squid on a stick. The seasonings are addictive. It is not for the calorie counters but there are tons of different soups and salads to choose from also. And don't forge the white rice on the side. I
