Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q

Food is tasty and consistent. Service is wonderful! You can take out or eat in. Orders are quickly made and delivered promptly.

As a North Carolinian, BBQ (pulled pork specifically) is practically in my blood. I've been to some really good BBQ places, but when I don't feel like making the trek to the top of the line spots, I'll come to Smithfield's. While the food here brings me comfort, it's certainly not the highest tier of BBQ. And that's okay! I come to Smithfield's when I want a cheap and quick option. If you're looking for traditional North Carolina pulled pork, I think you would find that Smithfield's tries to recreate this iconic food, with their own twists. While the pork does take on the vinegary flavor, it, along with many other menu items, is a lot sweeter than the traditional fare. The potato salad and coleslaw are on the sweeter side too. The pork itself isn't all that smoky, but tastes okay. There are definitely items I prefer over the BBQ on a given day. Their fried baby shrimp are consistently delicious, and their fried chicken is quite moist. My favorite thing here are their hush puppies. They do such a great job with them, they are always fried perfect and not too sweet. It's not doughy or dense, this is one of the few instances where I love the hush puppies, as they normally just sit in my stomach and make me full, yet unsatisfied. Another one of my favorite things about Smithfield's is their hospitality. I think this restaurant emphasizes the idea of "Southern Hospitality", and I think it's great! The world needs more of that for sure. With friendly service and next level hush puppies, I think I will continue to make Smithfield's my quick BBQ option.

Went through the drive thru. My order was taken quickly and the man was easy to understand. A very nice man at the window.Ordered the chicken tender platter with double potato salad. My order was ready quickly and I could feel the heat through the container, so it was hot. Was so disappointed when I got home and there were beans instead of the potato salad as ordered. It's too far to drive back. Chicken was good, hush puppies ok, potato salad was good after adding mustard. Don't think I will ever use the drive thru again.

Came here to order a box of chicken to go. Hush puppies came with the chicken. Potato salad was creamy but did not get big chunks of potatoes. The fried chicken was very tender and plump, and the skin was crispy and full of flavor.

Needed lunch on the run and wanted something fast. Had never been here so decided to give it a try. I am not the biggest fast food person I usually avoid them. It was good, the chicken was crispy and I love the spicy vinegar for the fries. The store was clean, workers polite and courteous. I love the face they have a sink where you can wash your hands. Really impressed me. Overall I'd not hesitate to eat here again if I was craving fried chicken fast.

We love the fried chicken barbecue platter with Cole slaw and potato salad is sooo good

It was a rainy Sunday around 11:30 amI went in Smithfield's - the place was clean and spacious.At the counter the young man was pleasant.I ordered a pound of BBQ to go.Only took a couple of minutes as I was waiting I asked if they had Gluten Free rolls- he said yes and he would put them in the bag. I got the bag and there were no rolls- no problem- I went back up to the counter and paid for the 2 gf rolls ($1.71)I was handed them- I looked in the bag and asked if they were Gluten Free and the other man said No they don't carry Gluten Free- luckily I was able to return them.The BBQ was tender and dry with no flavor- I added vinegar it was a little better.

LOVE their food! Every thing on the menu is very palatable! Pork skins are the bomb diggity!

Awesome and simple food. The menu isn't big, however the flavor and service is gigantic!!! The Chicken, BBQ, sides and desserts are consistently delish. Get some of the favorable tea and you got a great meal!!!! Kudos to the folks that work at this establishment with relentless excellence!

What a disappointment. I was really looking forward to some comfort food after a long flight. The chicken portions were small which ended up being a good thing as the meat did not taste fresh and I ended up throwing it out. The pecan pie was on the flavorless side and the crust edge was entirely missing. On the positive side, the hush puppies were really good
