Smashing Eats ATL

If I could leave this establishment ten stars, I would. I don't know if the you man working was the owner, but he was the only one working and he was pushing out orders, distributing them, and cooking and bagging. He was never rude, he never raised his voice, but he was always professional. I just wanted to applaud him!

The food was delicious. We had the catfish, sweet potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Everything was tasty and delicious.

Good late night this is one of the best places in Atlanta ga the shrimp are so big and good

I'm in love. I've been coming here several times for meeting and been wanting to find my hole in the wall kind of spot. THIS HIT the SPOT in every which way. You know it's good when the food got you moaning like it's sexing it up. Is this what dirty south means?! OMG I can't stop thinking about that oxtail dish I had with the rice and collards.Maybe all the regulars are use to eating this on a daily and thinking nothing of it. But from someone from the East coast North that knows nothing about it got me educated. This is definitely a one stop must for me if you down at ATL. OXTAIL is highly recommended. The fried chicken hit the spot and that banana budding put me to BED. Just writing this review got me needing to shower.

They have potential. That's all I'm going to say. They put the corn bread under the chicken to become wet from the juice from the green.. wait time is long but the cabbage is good, yams good.

This was my first time visiting the, "establishment". It is a small walk up window with minimal parking & the outside & kitchen were messy. I tried the "Down South Cuisine" & the food was just ok. All of this was $29 & they ended up forgetting my cornbread. The taste of the food was, just ok. The chicken tasted like it came out one of those banquet meals (too much breading & no distinct taste other then frying oil 3/5. The collard greens were normal, they had bell peppers in them which I am not used to but didn't hate! 2.5/5. The macaroni. & cheese had to be the best thing on the plate fore sure, not too overpowering, pretty good 3.5/5. The yams were...soft. They had a heavy nutmeg and orange taste, I did not like them at all. 2/5. The banana pudding was good, it's what you'd expect it to be 4/5. The lady at the window was kind amidst the physical assault going on a few feet away amongst some people on the street. It is a rougher part of town which leaves the place open to a lot of noise both literally & figuratively that could maybe put the business in a bad light. The price is a bit high for the portion size. Also, the packaging makes it difficult for your food not to get soggy if you're not eating it right away. Although this particular dish was not my thing, I'd try a different menu item in the future.

Decided to try it out b/c we were in ATL and had a Groupon.Tried to use it the first day. Walking into the restaurant, we were told that all of the items we wanted to order were out of stock. It was strange b/c we arrived mid-afternoon, not late-night.Decided to come back the next day and they were in stock. Got 2 Grilled Salmon dinners w/ Mac n Cheese, Greens, Yams, and Rice.Food tasted really good, seemed fresh, and the serving sizes were generous.There are a few tables to eat inside, but we preferred to take it with us. The inside looked like it was still awork in progress, so not the nicest.The young lady that helped us was very professional...4-stars is for the food, and the service. Would've been 5-stars if we didn't have to come back.When we're back in ATL, we'll likely come through.

They are not organized enough they literally ripped me outta 80 bucks then told me to call door dash

I ordered through Uber Eats. I ordered blackened salmon salad and fried mac & cheese. The salmon was not blackened. It had no seasoning on it. They did not include the dressing, so I had bare greens. The mac & cheese was not fried; it was just regular baked mac & cheese. They did not include utensils even though I asked for them. I am staying in a hotel so I have no recourse. I can't send it back. Total waste of money. By the way, it took two hours.

Love the food! Food is always amazing when I go! Location may seem a little sketchy but it's definitely worth it!!
