This is the "newest" of the Skid's Restaurants, having only opened in 2003, and it has common ownership with the original Skid's on N. Church Street - and these two are at least several notches above the other two. This location is my favorite - it is bigger, more comfortable, has a drive thru, and the food is excellent. The order is simple here - the Special Cheeseburger Basket (with L, T, & Mayo this time, though I usually go with mustard, chili, and slaw for this one), and a Chili Dog with M, C, & O. This cheeseburger is excellent, a bit bigger than their "regular" burger, and it is as tasty as any diner style burger you'll find. The Chili Dog is every bit the burger's equal. It is a bit on the smallish side (many in the Burlington area are, including Zack's), but it is a flavor dynamo, and there are not many as good as this. The FFs have a great look, and are potentially outstanding, but these were not even close to being well salted - so you end up with a fried, tasteless block of starch - if you're gonna fry'em, salt'em!They serve all 3 meals here, and offer typical small town diner fare at each one, including some lunch special with snap, like the Chicken Pie, and others. As always, know your restaurant, go for what they do well - and this place will not disappoint.

"Diner food right off Elon's campus"This place looks like a renovated fast food restaurant building, but it's owned by a Greek family and serves breakfast and diner food. One has to compare it to its class-- this is not "fine dining", but instead, it's basically an alternative to Waffle House. In that regard, it is, indeed, A-OK.We came on a Saturday for lunch. My daughter had a burger, I got the chicken strips, and my son had a gyros sandwich. I think my kids ordered smarter than I did.The burger was WAY smaller than you'd expect for a 1/4-lb burger, but they did dress it with anything you'd like, which was good, and the taste was decent. The gyros were probably the best choice-- good quality. The chicken strips were a bit of a bust-- I got 3 strips and fries, and the strips were like the kind you might get from Costco or something. Not as good as even fast-food chicken strips from Zaxbys or something/Service was fine. They were friendly and checked on us a few times. The food came after an a reasonable wait. Minor complaint-- the water cups came with SO much ground ice that there was almost no liquid water to drink.Overall, a bit "meh" overall, but FOR it's class (e.g., Waffle House), it was A-OK (I'd way rather go here than Waffle House).

Cute little mom and pop establishment. Food was so good. Had a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. The biscuit was so light and fluffy. This is 10 times better than chick fil a or Biscuitville. The bacon omelet was delicious as well.

This is a great diner to eat at. Grab a burger or better yet the grilled chicken dinner. Definitely a budget friendly place and located right in the middle of campus.

What a frustrating experience. My sister, brother and I came from out of town to have a mini reunion after months apart and to take our nephew out for lunch. We were the last customers of the day and the waitress told us there was no rush. We paid and left and decided to take a quick family photo on the green across the street on Elon's campus. When we returned 20 minutes later our car was gone. Called the towing company and they said we were towed for being parked "after hours". What the heck? Spent $45 plus 30% tip, and $250 for towing the car less than a mile away... I feel like we got burned by both restaurant and towing company. Food was just okay. The restaurant owner was not sympathetic or helpful. How about some signage?

Food is ok, nothing to brag about, a little pricey for an amaturish attempt, wait staff is efficient and gritty... and, well rural.. this is the only restuarant that I have ever been to that the daily special is way more than the same meal listed on the menu... and you can't order the dish from the menu... I had to ask to be sure but the special was indeed more expensive than the menu price. Would I recomend this place? No. Would I advise against it? no. Just be cautious
