We all enjoyed this food! I had the garlic butter shrimp w/o the pork sausage which had the proper ratio of garlic/butter. I tried the crab legs which were also good. My mom and husband had the catfish which they both enjoyed. I'm not a fan of corn on the cob so I gave it to them and they finished them. The potatoes were made perfectly. We ordered to go but I would come back here again.

Food was really good !!!! I did. Not like that they serve it in a to go container even though I was asked if it was to go or to eat in? you have to pay at the register before eating therefore there's not really a customer service to rate here. Overall good food for a fair price !

Still killing it. Makes me sad that I live in Charlotte, because we def don't have anything this cheap and delicious when it comes to seafood.

Such good! I always try to stop here before game night on Thursdays at Moon Dog. This is my go-to: garlic shrimp plate. Includes boiled potatoes, corn, and a chunk of sausage. For $16!

Visited here on a Friday evening (12/1/23). Saw them on Yelp, and wanted to try them while I was in town. A lot bigger on the inside than it looks from outside. They have a fair amount of inside seating. All food is made order (at least the fried foods are). I ordered the catfish sandwich (came on a bun instead of the usual sliced white bread), and a side snow crab cluster and one of their flavored housemade lemonades (strawberry). Paid about $24. Which I thought was pretty decent for a seafood place, used to paying a arm and leg.Didn't wait long, food came out hot and fresh. The catfish nicely sized, actually thought it was 2 pieces at first. It was good, would definitely order it again as a meal with the sides that come with it. Though I only ordered the single crab cluster, it still came seasoned and tossed in the housemade garlic butter blend. Both were good. The lemonade wasn't what I was expecting at first sip, but not bad. Very rich and sweet. Would like to try some of other flavors, maybe the original lemonade itself.Overall, I would recommend ShoNuff. I myself plan on visiting them again before I head back home

The service was good. Food came out promptly and piping hot. The place was clean and everyone was friendly. The food was fresh and seasoned well. The lemon pepper wings were a tad bit salty but still to my liking. The price was great for the amount of food served. My family and I recommend this place.

Open currently for take out only this place is a well hidden, inexpensive, seafood dream. The room itself has all the chairs pushed to one side, some covered in plastic wrap. The workers all wear masks as well. You can tell they are still concerned about covid. I came here at 545pm on a Sunday and was promptly (and curtly) told they were only open for 10 more minutes. Undeterred I quickly ordered and was given a to go bag minutes later. My friends were put off by the brusque demeanor of the owner, but not me. Usually if someone is that gruff its because the food speaks for itself. And BOY DID IT! I got the fried shrimp plate which came with AMPLE fries and 3 hush puppies. It was DIVINE. I will be back for SURE!

The restaurant was in the process of being renovated, due to limited indoor seating and chairs randomly placed for sitting. The waiters were friendly. However, I was disappointed to receive a load of butter in my meal tray. I'm a seafood lover, but I will not eat seafood that's floating in butter/margarine. The food was greasy, overcooked, bitter, dry, and had a weird taste, despite the presence of parsley flakes. Until dining at this restaurant, I do not recall ever wasting a lobster tail, crab legs, shrimp, corn, sausage, and potatoes. I discarded the meal, besides the boiled egg. On the good foot, the peach flavored drink was delicious. The pics make the food look mouthwatering delicious, but the look is deceiving. I'll think about returning again in the future.

Basic ambiance and service. No waiters. You order at the counter. Food served in takeout fashion in styrofoam. Drinks in bottles. Food is quite good though and in very generous portions. I ordered fried catfish and shrimp. Tasted fresh. I will be back to try their broiled options. This place is very close to The Loop, another good restaurant in Durham.

WARNING! DO NOT EAT HERE!They will not ask if you want your receipt. ASK FOR YOUR RECEIPT AND KEEP IT & PAY USING A DEBIT/CREDIT CARD. There is no on-site manager & no way to contact the owner if there is something wrong with your food/order. They don't give refunds & are too arrogant to admit to doing anything wrong. They have no integrity. The email address listed on the website doesn't work. The owner will block you if you try to contact him through any social media channels.I had to file a complaint against this restaurant through the Better Business Bureau after receiving cold, unfresh, inedible food that made me sick after I ate a crab leg and a piece of corn. I left the rest of my food for the owner, Michael Griffin, to see that I couldn't eat it. I informed the cashier of the situation. She tried to contact him several times, but he wouldn't answer his phone. She said that my seafood wasn't steamed to order, but had been sitting in a warming tray. I knew that because my seafood was cold, it wasn't held at a safe temperature to prevent bacterial growth, as I have a culinary degree and have taught ServSafe food safety classes. Their sanitation grade means nothing. They know the timeframe to expect the food safety inspection to take place. They obviously clean up well to pass inspection, then start slacking off again. Here is the link to the BBB if you encounter a problem with this restaurant: https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint. They will keep a record of complaints against this restaurant, and people will be able to make an informed decision before dining there. The owner never offered me an apology or refund. I tried to contact them before leaving a public review, to ask why I was not being given a refund, and why there was no manager I could speak with, but I found that they had blocked me. I also tried to contact the owner by sending an email to the address listed on their website, but it did not work.I saw a cook using her phone for an extended time & then handling the food which is unsanitary. The bathroom had no paper towel dispenser; instead, a roll of paper towels was sitting on top of the dirty toilet. The bathroom trash can's foot pedal to open the lid was broken so I had to lift the dirty lid to throw away trash. Staff using this bathroom can further contribute to the spread of foodborne bacteria/illness. The only other bathroom was out of order. This is not a Black-owned restaurant, as I thought it was. The owner is white. He is largely profiting off the Black community's hard-earned money & taking advantage of them because he makes himself unavailable, serves mediocre and/or unfresh food, & isn't consistent with the quality of the food or cleanliness of the restaurant. I feel that they have their circle of friends writing positive reviews or are paying for them. Often restaurants may flood their ratings with positive reviews to make it appear that they're offering better service & food than they actually are. There are multiple negative reviews stating how disrespectful the owner is & how unwilling he is to settle disputes. He intentionally avoids people & is running a shady business. Spend your money at establishments that respect you, care about you, and are thankful for your business.
