Seawell Fish N' Oyster

I wanted to love this place, but was highly disappointed. I walked in around 12:30 and there was no host. After waiting for about 10 minutes my mom asked someone sitting at a table if they knew where the host was. The person she asked happen to work there, although off duty, and watched us stand there for 10 minutes. He then seated us and we waited for a waiter. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu; the fruit plate, smoked salmon bagel, brunch burger and the fried cat fish and waffle. The appetizers took about 10 minutes to come out and the main courses took approximately 25 minutes AFTER we finished our appetizers. We both enjoyed our appetizers and my mom liked her burger. The breading on my cat fish was more of a shell and fell off, although the waffle was delicious and was unexpectedly sweet. She had the white sangria that she enjoyed and I ordered the beer from the Miami Spice menu.Overall it wasn't a great experience. We felt neglected, especially when observing how attentive the waiter was to other parties. It's especially disappointing when a 20% gratuity charge is automatically added to the bill when it wasn't deserved. I'd like to return and try other items, but doubt that I will.

Would have definitely been a 5, but I was asked to pay before I was done eating or drinking, which is bizarre and off putting. That being said, wonderful ambiance and good. I'll give it another try since I'm staying at the beautiful hotel attached to the restaurant. I'd recommend...just hoping it was a weird fluke. We checked into our hotel and Seawell was connected to it so we decided to come for a late brunch before heading to the beach. We had mimosas which were really good. A good combination of champagne and juice. I order the blackened mahi tacos with yucan fries. So good! It was a good brunch experience with good customer service.

Great brunch spot as part of Kimpton. East coast oysters were just the right size and briny balance. Would not order the brunch burger again, as the burger itself was overdone and not particularly flavorful. Quaint outdoor garden seating area with excellent service.

I came here with three other friends for brunch this morning. Sadly, we weren't able to try the dinner menu, which had more options. I couldn't choose between sweet and savory, so I decided to share with a friend so we could get the best of both worlds. LUMP CRAB + AVOCADO BENEDICT - 24So the portion size of this was pretty big and I definitely could split this into two meals since I don't eat a lot. The garlic rosemary potatoes were well-seasoned, but they were cold and stale. Still, flavor matters more than texture, so we were able to finish them. The benedict was just average. I thought the sourdough bread was quite good and the poached egg (it comes with two) was tasty with the hollandaise sauce. There was also a side of guacamole and we weren't sure what to do with it, so we just dipped our potatoes in here if we weren't feeling the ketchup. However, we couldn't get over how weird the lump crab was. It was over-seasoned and there was more mayo flavor than there was crab. I could barely taste the crab and it was just a strange combination of flavors. I wouldn't recommend this here.LEMON RICOTTA PANCAKES - 16There's only three thin slices of pancakes, maybe 10 blueberries and a couple small bits of basil. From the presentation, we weren't very impressed. However, the pancakes itself were very good! The lemon flavor was very prominent and the pancakes itself were pretty moist. We enjoyed these pancakes but would prefer more blueberry and basil compote. I'd recommend this entree even if the price is a bit steep.One hit and one miss, overall, not awful for brunch.

Had been wanting to try Seawell for quite some time and was excited to check it out for brunch this weekend. It was pretty empty, but the place is so cute. We sat inside because it was too damn hot. We had the lump crab Benedict and the burger. We didn't have a choice of how the burger was cooked so it was a little more cooked than my liking. The crab Benedict was good. The tropical mimosa was refreshing and they have a 2 hr unlimited mimosas (and other brunch favs) for $25. Service was awesome. Looking forward to coming back and checking them out for dinner.

This place is absolutely worth the visit. Low key and relaxing. Two outdoor patios and in door seating area. The seafood is amazing, very unique flavors....fresh!!!! Try the oysters, Caribbean stew! The service was amazing, thanks to Sabrina. Polite, patient and answered all of our questions. You have to check this place out. Worth every penny!

Well I an so impressed. I have lived in south beach for over 10 years and before Kimpton bought the Angler I was a regular with friends and my parents. Tonight we gave it a try and I canNOT say how happy we were. My mom visiting from NY and I visited to celebrate my birthday. Amy the GM, Hannah, and PILAR were absolutely amazing. They were so attentive and thoughtful. The food was amazing. The venue is almost the same as when we visited years ago. The outback pool area is so secluded but lively with other guests. Everything was perfect. Can't wait to go back! Amazing Friday local night in SOBE!

Service: 5 stars! Agostina and Renata were our servers and they went above and beyond. They were accommodating and flexible w all dietary requests. Oyster HH: oysters are half price between 6-7pm (which means they are $1.50 each for high end oysters). The quality did not disappoint. If you're an oyster fan, like me, please arrive before 7 PM as many people came after 7pm and yelled at the staff for not giving them a discount. Kids menu: this is a weird comment but I really appreciate the type of attention and quality they put into their kids menu. Often times when we go to high-end restaurants, their kids menu is crappy. I actually want better food for my kids than I do for myself and was happy to see the quality of food for kids here.

Seawell is THE CUTEST for brunch. The ambiance is nautical chic, bright, and relaxing. The food quality, bottomless specials, and service provided by Gineska are top notch. Truly a "best kept secret" in the South of Fifth area of Miami Beach.
