Sometimes you walk into a restaurant with no expectations and are blown away by how amazing it is, and that's exactly what happened at Satchel's on 6th. I was along for the ride for dinner with some friends, but it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've ever had.Owner Andrew and his team really know how to make you feel at home. The place is busy and lively, but the staff's warmth makes you feel like part of the family. Now, the food was incredible. We kicked things off with burrata and some cheese-stuffed squash (I can't remember the exact name, but it was amazing). For my main, I had a steak cooked to perfection and the duck fat fries that were hands down the best fries I've ever had. The stuffed trout was also fantastic. It was cool that they had a smoker cooking it up just a few feet from our table outside Desserts didn't disappoint either. The lemon gelato was super refreshing, and the beignets, with their strawberry sauce twist, were almost as good as those back in New Orleans. I'm not normally a strawberry shortcake fan but the one here was incredible. A perfectly balanced dessert. The margarita was uniquely special too--different in a good way.If I had one regret, it's that I didn't get to go twice while I was in town. If you want a meal that feels like it's made with love, check out Satchel's. It's definitely worth it.

I have been to satchels a handful of times full of times when I'm in town and I 10/10 recommend! The menu changes so what you see here might not be the menu when you go so please be mindful of that. We started with the salmon crudo which was delicious, it melted in your mouth- I loved the capers for a pop of flavor. We also had the nettle and ricotta dumplings which were good but the texture was definitely different than expected. The duck fat fries are always a hit.The oysters were cooked on a grill out front of the establishment - I thought that was a pretty cool aspect to the whole experience. The Cesar salad with the chicken was amazing!! The chicken was well fried and still juicy in the inside with out being greasy!I don't know what they do to that oil / butter and garlic bread but we had to order more it was so good! I used the butter for everything I could !Crab cakes were good, however it did have a lot of breading / filler which is pretty common anywhere. The rubarb pie and beignets were also great! The cocktails are unique and you can always order your favorite drink even if it's not on the menu! The establishment is skillfully decorated with nice chandeliers, other lighting & walls that are lined with different paintings which capture the eye. The service was amazing! Even on a busy night the waiter (JP) did not miss! He was very attentive, provided great recommendations , joyful and everything came out timely. This establishment is really over the top on all levels!

This is a neighborhood gem! It is family owned and the staff are wonderful. The food and wine selections are amazing. It is a small, cosy restaurant but there are a couple of larger tables in the back corner. It's right on 6th ave so the patio seating is not for me ... but I might do it for the food if those were the only seats available.

Lovely evening at Satchels. Everyone seems very familiar with the staff and like this was the neighborhood hotspot. We have a gluten free person in our group so we picked Satchels due to the menu and weren't disappointed. Highlights were the salmon and oysters! We didn't feel rushed or neglected which can happen in a hoping place so we were really appreciative just to sit and visit over cocktails and delicious food. I can see why this is a favorite for many people!

Satchel's on 6th upon walking in is loud and crowded. The area is square shaped with a bar in the back. The bar has about 12 stools without backs. There are 9 tables on each side against a booth. Each table fits 2, one in a chair, one in a booth. The front has big windows. The hallway to the bathroom is a bit congested with staff going to kitchen and extra equipment in the hallway. The menu is small to say the least. At the time of writing there's 6 starts ranging from $7-$19. And there's five main courses from $22 - $37. I'm curious how often they change the menu. The wine list and cocktail list was longer. The burrata was more like a veggie cheese salad. It wasn't a bruschetta. Good though. I had the Morel Mushroom Tagliatelle, $29. The spinach was overly lemony and the sauce didn't adhere to the noodles making it taste plain. The mushrooms were very good.It took a bit to get serviced and semi inattentive.Overall cute. But way overpriced and under sized. They do charge per iced tea flute by the way.

What a fabulous and cozy gem! I found this restaurant on Yelp when looking for farm to table experiences with a chill atmosphere. The service was amazing. The food was delicious - we had the grilled oysters which were being grilled right out on the front patio, burrata, which was paired with a crispy grilled bread and a beautiful presentation of grilled fruits and mixed greens. The corn and crab fritter was one of the most beautiful presentations and delicious mix of flavors I've had. We'll definitely be back!

Fresh and well-prepared menu selection. Service cheerful and helpful. A popular dining spot. Noisy and crowded when I've been there. Mostly a younger crowd. This geezer enjoys conversations and found this to be the one challenge.
