"Fun, vibey and young spot offering kakigori and mango sticky rice, beautifully crafted, and pretty damn good too! LYCHEE BUTTERFLY PEA KAKIGORIThis was so beautiful. First of all, the butterfly pea is a nice touch because when you add the lychee juice over the top, it turns the blue into purple and adds a beautiful color. The lychee and jelly at the bottom is delicious and adds some nice texture. Soft, fluffy ice composes the kakigori and some cream on top for some sweet richness- well done!MANGO STICKY RICEThe sticky rice is multicolored but don't let that fool you, it's quality and beautifully chewy. The mango is fresh, though I've had fresher. However, I'm being picky because I've had some pretty DANG good mango sticky rice. I would still put this in the -great- category of mango sticky rice. Yummy!"
"5/5 Caramel macchiato - expensive but delicious! Not too sweet until the end when you realize all the caramel sank to the bottom :)5/5 Cinnamon roll - made with croissant pastry dough rather than yeast donut dough. Much lighter and fluffier. It was good! Not heavy at all. 2/5 Dark roast coffee - you take it yourself from a pump. The coffee comes black and you can sweeten it yourself if you so choose. The dark roast wasn't very dark at all, more like medium. Not that good if you're looking for dark roast but not bad if you like medium to light roast. Great service and lots of outside seating in the shade or sun. Very cute place!"
"They have moved to a new location on University avenue and it's great! I love what they did with the space! The front patio is dog friendly which Cako appreciates! What I also love is that some of my students work here so I can be obnoxious and they have to be nice to me! LOL!I love how the menu changes depending on what's available. We tried the smashburger, seasonal vegetables, and some really delicious roasted dates! The chef sent us out some burrata cheese and bread...sooooo good! We also had the chicken skewers which were delicious! We passed on dessert because we were full! This is an amazing place to come to which gives young people and immigrants food service skills that they can take anywhere. Definitely worth going to for dinner or brunch!!!Cako Approves!"
"Come for the view, stay for the wings.I've always loved THC but I was recently reminded how lucky we are to have places like this in our fine city, especially in December when we can still sit comfortably on a rooftop patio. There's no shortage of Skrewball being served her, and IYKYK why, and I'm always good for at least two of them. The live music is eclectic and fun, and this is certainly one of the best spots in OB, which has recently started to grow on me a bit more."
"Super cute coffee shop with the super perfect location. I actually had no plans to visit any coffee shop the day I visited as I only planned to go to the bakery in the plaza. However, I saw this place and saw the photos and decided I had to try it! It's located in the plaza which has garage parking. It's free the first 30 min and then $5 every extra 30 min or portion of it! We ordered the strawberry fields and the zebra! Both were super good. They're really creative drinks that match the flavors appropriately! The presentation is also beautiful! I love the location as well as there's plenty of seating outside where you can overview the beach! Overall highly recommend! Service was super friendly as well!"
"Are you kidding me? A coffee stand next to a gas station can have this good of coffee and more? Just goes to show that you can't judge a book by its cover. The homemade horchata latte was awesome and reasonably priced. They also make their baked good from scratch. Please check this place out asap."
"Franco's is still the best giant pizza in town. Still the same great taste as it was in the 90s. Today I used the app to order and it was simple and it was delivered 20 minutes faster then the estimated time it gave me. Pizza was super hot and fresh and the driver was polite and was able to get in our gate with this giant pizza. I don't eat as much pizza as I used to but Franco's is my go-to when I want that giant slice. Price is on par with this economy but the quality is definitely there. Support local businesses!"
"They are located outside The Home Depot. I was picking up some times during a lunch break and decided to stop by and have a hot dog. The combo deal is of good value. The dogs are pretty big. They are longer than the bun. They have the usual toppings available. Fried onions or a bacon wrap are extra. Two unusual toppings are crunched chips and a spicy crunchy chip to give it a little extra bite.Staff is very friendly. Since it is located outside the Home Depot, their is plenty of parking. It is a nice addition to the local food scene."
"I've been to this location a few times and had it delivered a few times as well and they are consistently delicious. The chicken and rice is so simple yet so flavorful. The pork appetizers are my favorite. I tried the egg rolls and they are basic veggie ones, I'd pass next time. The Tom kha was good but on the sweet side for me so I'll pass on that too. But the pad see ew was so yummy. I love that their version is heavy on the veggies and not just noodles and protein. Super friendly and fast service in a modestly sized space."
"Oddish wine is part of the garten and provides a different type of wine experience that you won't get in many places. The big cluster was super light and easy to drink. If you're a beer and wine fan the hopped blueberry provides a mix of flavors. The heavy carbs was very bold and smooth if that's up your alley!"
"This is now my favorite sushi spot in Chula Vista. The first time I tried it was two weeks ago when my sister ordered chicken/shrimp hibachi and a salmon teriyaki bowl through UberEats. Ever since then, we have had two more food deliveries from them, and I even dined at the restaurant this past week. To my surprise, when I went on a Monday night around 7:15pm, almost every single table was occupied. Luckily, my group of three was able to be seated within minutes. Everything that I have tried from Ika has been a 10/10, with the exception of the chicken/shrimp hibachi. The fried rice and shrimp were flavorful, but the chicken was on the dry side. Aside from that, amazing! The salmon teriyaki bowl is a fan favorite in my household. The salmon is always cooked to perfection and the sauce that it's cooked with (and used on the vegetables and rice) is perfect and not too sweet like other places. I think their ahi tuna tostadas are my favorite dish they have. It has a little bit of heat to it, and they really pack on the tuna. I feel like I got more tuna when I ordered via UberEats versus in person, but I think it is the restaurant being generous for their online orders. Their steak teriyaki bowl, gyoza, sashimi/nigiri and sushi rolls I have tried have all been a hit. I have no complaints when it comes to the quality of the food. When I dined in, the sushi took a little while to get to the table, likely because it was pretty packed. Our waitress was really sweet, but towards the end (since it was later in the evening), I think she was focused more on cleaning because my friends ran out of water and we were waiting a good minute for the bill. Overall, this is a great spot -- location-wise, price-wise and food-wise."
"This place is busy as ever until closing! Make sure to call in your order so that it can be ready sooner! We had family at the hospital down the street and ordered some pizza via phone, waited in line (3 peeps in front of us) and by the time we got to the front, our pizzas were coming out and being cut! Yes, they are on ubereats.com &slice if you want delivery as this place does not have its own drivers. This location specifically is a window service only and all kitchen! They do leave out a few seats for waiting. One of the best pizza places, and definitely try their heart pizza on special occasions!! The family even enjoyed their pizza, and we've never had a bad experience here! There is a sign on the register for offering a 5% discount using cash, but I'm pretty sure I didn't get a discount and paid cash when I saw it instead of using a card. They had a deal 2 topping medium pizza and breadsticks for $25.99 since my total was over $28+, so be mindful."

Visit Restaurant Page"I hosted a Sunday lunch here last weekend for my MeetUp Fun Diego Ladies group and we really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was excellent! We ordered some appetizers to share:White truffle garlic breadCalamari Meatballs AranciniCrispy hash potatoes I ordered an arugula & avocado salad to round off my meal. For $15.50 I thought it was rather small and sad looking, but the dressing was good and the salad itself was fresh. I added some of the veggies that came with the fried calamari so the salad looked more complete and looked more vibrant. I also had a slice of my friend's funghi pizza. That was amazing! The aroma of the pizza when it was delivered to the table was irresistible! I'll be ordering that next time!Overall, we enjoyed the food but thought the service was slow at the end. We requested separate checks upfront and didn't think it would be so complicated. It was complicated...and took our server over 30 minutes to ring us up individually! In hindsight, we should've just paid 1 bill. We did not realize it would be such an ordeal."
"in the wonderful world of farm-to-table (or more correctly fryer-to-fat-guy) donuts, how did banana cream pie donuts wind up with limited seasonal availability?if you live in a tropical banana republic, does the availability of freshly picked fruit mean the long harsh winter is finally drawing to an end? does the mellow yellowing mean the country's brutally oppressive government's going to demand plantation owners provide benefits and pay a living wage?does THE GOODS use exclusively North Dakota-grown bananas? is that closely guarded secret being withheld from the general public? will Senate Republicans block hearings to look into the matter? what about their S'MORE donuts? can you get good, vine-ripened marshmallows in early August? does the torrent of existential questions raised by their seasonal donut menu diminish the amazingness of the goodies at THE GOODS?negatory. they're still effing delicious."
"Okay, this was my second time coming to Sushi Factory and it was exactly as I remember. Simple, decent, affordable, and satisfying. It's certainly not something to look forward to as you would a beautiful omakase, but it scratches a certain itch when you want a few standard rolls like a spicy tuna and a carafe of sake without breaking the bank. The sushi doesn't stop at the spicy tuna rolls as I suggested above but I don't really get too adventurous at places like this. Stick to the basic fish that is readily available and popular like tuna and salmon. I could be completely wrong but I tend to believe that fish like this would be ordered by the customers more often and in turn the restaurant probably orders them more often too. Are they going to be fresher than the others? I'll keep telling myself that, don't burst my bubble. In summary, there is a time and place for cheap(ish) sushi and when I have a hankering for it, Sushi Factory is just close enough for me to indulge."
"Sweet little spot in a University Heights strip mall!Your typical Mexican fare here with average prices. What I enjoyed most about Bahia is that there are four varieties of salsas you can pour for yourself. I got the hot and medium salsas. Both were really flavorful and added a nice depth to my potato breakfast burrito.Potato breakfast burrito -- 8/10. Overall pleasant! I do wish, however, that the potatoes were a bit crispier because I found them to be too soft for my liking. It was wrapped well in foil so that when I actually had time to sit down and eat it low half an hour after I received it, it was still warm! There's a good amount of parking but beware that this lot is awful. It's busy here and the spots are narrow"
"Been here a few times. First time was great. Margherita pizza was so delicious, crust was cooked nicely. Really enjoyed the lasagna bolognese and penne all' arrabbiata. Everything had great flavor and was seasoned nicely. Service - very friendly.Second time was good. The Pappardelle al funghi was delicious, the "Spaghetti" allá puttanesca w/ gluten free penne was yummy. The Vegetariana pizza on gluten free crust however was burnt so I wasn't really a fan of that. Third time we brought friends and were excited to have them try this place as our recommendation. The margherita pizza this time was soooooo soggy. It was so wet and floppy, the cheese was just falling off cuz the soggy crust couldn't hold the weight of the mozzarella...I was honestly embarrassed because our friend is a big foodie too and loves a good pizza. The truffle mushroom ravioli special was very delicious at least. I personally didn't really care for the cannoli. But what was mostly disappointing and kind of scary was my last bite of penne - I noticed a piece of metal. And it looked like a piece of steel wool. I felt lucky at least that I didn't swallow it... we did notify the server who brought the manager and they were very nice, professional and apologetic about it but because of our inconsistent experiences and the metal in my pasta - I personally don't think I'd go back."
"This review is for the Chile Verde dish, which was the best Chile Verde I have ever had. The sauce was done perfectly. Every bite was delicious.Great location. We sat outside and were able to view the live band playing in the courtyard. Very nice."
"This is truly a family-run business! The owner was assembling onigiri while her two young kids were playing cashier and literally calling order numbers for us! LOLQuite a popular food stall among the many at Little Italy Mercato. I got a Salmon Mayo onigiri (rice ball) as a snack before lunch. Pretty tasty! It comes warm since it's fresh, so definitely eat it ASAP. They also have pre-made ones for a quick pick up. They don't skimp on the salmon and it wasn't overly creamy from the mayo. A nice little pick-me-up."
"Kaffa Coffee is a small, chill neighborhood coffee shop that serves up fantastic espresso made from high quality Ethiopian beans. We discovered this shop during our vacation, and we went back multiple times throughout our week in the area. The owners were super gracious and friendly at every visit, and there was never a long line or wait. Kaffa's espresso tastes great, with a robust flavor that stands up great in a latte or cappuccino. Most shops in the area seem to only serve 12 ounce drinks, so I definitely appreciated Kaffa's larger drink size options. For serious coffee in a no-frills, friendly neighborhood shop, Kaffa is a great alternative in the neighborhood."
"Been meaning to write a review for the longest time. After having frequented World Curry much this year, this place also holds a memory near and dear to my friend, Ian, currently crowned the Phall King of World Curry. When I mean crowned king, I mean they plastered his face to the wall of the restaurant, for having completing the Phall challenge...WEEKLY for the past few years. He just loves his Phall. Now the food...the Phall is the most spiciest curry on that menu, much alone to what I've had on the planet. It is delicious, mouth-watering, and extremely spicy. I'd prob recommend this if you like spicy....it's just a huge explosion of flavors, and to be honest, the spice kicks in pretty late. Now the other curry contenders make good options as well. One of my favorites is the Katsu Japanese Ka-re. I get it extremely spicy so it has a nice kick. The green basil Thai curry, Panang, Bali Beef, and the Korma Cashew are also really great, I'd definitely recommend them if you're feeling a bit indecisive.Although I wouldn't recommend getting the Vindaloo, it doesn't scream like a true Vindaloo, as it's a bit too sweet on the palate to be. The appetizers, such as the Phall poppers and the buttery garlicky naan are also killer items. My absolute faaaav drink to get is the Mango smoothie! I definitely recommend at least 2 if you're trying to complete the Phall challenge. There's also the Mango Lassi, but it has bananas I believe, which is the difference from the Mango smoothie. Get the smoothie if you don't like bananas. The spice scaling is a bit off, so if you reaaally want a kick, get really hot. Mild, medium, or hot is like adding a few dashes of hot sauce in my opinion. Also, the service is amaaaazing here. The waitresses are all so very nice and they are also very accommodating with any requests. Shoutout to Sophie and Sophia for bringing their brightest smiles to the table :)"
"Outstanding fresh food! homeade pastas , incredible pizzas and variety of salads! We arrived , got our order taken right away and the food came out quickly and nice and hot !"

Cute place, menu is placed on the side where practically one party can look at the menu at a time. There is a huge selection of different desserts to choose from. Customer service was ok there was a lot of workers but weren't able to order for awhile due to no one being at the cashier. Cha mango $6.95Vary tart to much Tajin, not much ChamoyMango Sago: $8.95Sago balls but seemed like just rice, mango chunks, mango pudding, mango ice cream in a bowl with coconut milk. Son said he would have preferred it more slushy frozen than so liquidy.Cannoli & Cream: $9.95 Outside crust of a Cannoli with Oreo crumbs inside and whipped cream on the outside holes with chocolate sauce on the side to drizzle. Was wanting a real Cannoli my little one was disappointed, so was husband.Mango Sticky Rice thought we were ordering OMG! But when we got the plate it wasn't close to the photo. Was around $11.99 I believe Spent $40 with change ran my card and didn't see the tip option just signed and continued and was charge $46 with change guess they gave themselves a tip,Wasn't impressed with anything we got.

Visited Make Project on a Friday evening for dinner. The space is huge! We were the first ones in the door that evening. The place is well staffed and everyone was very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I did my research before hand since a lot of the ingredient names were totally foreign to me. We started off with the: Afghan Laghataq- Eggplant dip. This was just ok. The presentation was not alluring in any shape of form. The taste was subpar as well. Grilled Winter Squash with mast o khiar (persian dip similar to tzatziki)- likely the best thing I tasted tonight. Afghan Chicken Kabab with citrus piri piri - nothing specialBatata Harra- Lebanese "spicy" potatoes with lemon, chili flake and fresh herbs- the potatoes looked like they had potential given all of the seasonings however, they were kind of bland to me. Vietnamese grilled lamb shoulder with Haitian pikliz (pickled onions). My husband really enjoy the lamb shoulder! I really wanted my taste buds to go on an adventure while dining at Make Project. Unfortunately, this was not the case this time. I am glad we tried it and that we were made aware of their mission to empower refugee and immigrant women. I'm happy to support Make Project and hope to try it again in the future hopefully once their recipes have improved a bit and or looking forward to trying new items on the menu.

Great place! So much going on all at once! Not local to Ocean Beach but Holding Company is a great place to spend time when we are in the area. The roof has a great ocean view. Super chill. The first floor is for live music, dj and events. Cover is usually pretty low.Drinks are regular priced for the type of venue.

Very tasty coffee, in a good location. Sure it's $6 for a latte and they don't have dedicated seating - you're competing with everyone else who wants to use the public seating on this gorgeous roof of the Plaza. It would be nice too to have some sweets. BUT the coffee was super tasty and the view is great. Glad to know this is here especially when Pacifica breeze is closed!

Best coffee stand in San Diego! We've been going since they opened. The owners are so kind & friendly. They make their own flavors from scratch. Nothing is from a pre-made bottle & no chemicals are used. Once you try the perfected flavored lattes, you'll be hooked.

Placed an order using Yelp. I got a giant pizza with pepperoni and cheese for $40. It was cooked to perfection. Ordering online is amazing because when I got there it was already waiting for me and it was still very hot. The worker who was there was very kind and helpful as he helped me put the gian pizza in my car.

To start off, the Hotdog cart is so cute and very clean. The service was great. I ordered a Hawaiian hotdog, and no regrets it was delicious! I can't wait to try their chill. I heard some other customer saying it was really good. All in all, it was great all around.
Visit Restaurant Page"After having some mediocre Mexican food for brunch, this place hit the spot. The decor is beautiful and their was live music in the main dining room. I love the patio, which is where we sat.I like that we got complimentary chips, salsa, and pickled carrots! My friend and I shared the tuna ceviche, 3 tacos plate, and coctel camaron. For the taco plate, we chose the octopus, cochinita pibil, and oxtail. The tacos were flavorful! The ceviche and coctel were delicious as well. For drinks, we both got the hibiscus and paloma, but mine was a mocktail. The drinks were so pretty and refreshing! I had to get their churros for dessert and they were crunchy and delightful. I need to go back to try their other menu items!"
"So far I have to say Panini kabob Grill has been pretty solid on their wraps. I've had their chicken, beef and salmon wrap. The salmon wrap is my favorite so far. If you get the Cesar salad, add the cesar dressing to the salmon wrap and a little spicy hummus and thank me later. Salmon is cooked to perfection and nice fresh vegetables inside. I ordered from Uber eats and they package everything nice and neat as well as seal the bag. They're a good healthy option if that's what you're looking for."
"Only store I found with high quality goat meat! Nice people - decent prices - amazing selection of North African spices and condiments. I'd go back."
"We explored the Happy Hour (offered daily 3-6PM and Friday & Saturday, 9-11PM) menu this time around and discovered some great dishes at reasonable prices. - Slow-Braised Duck Taquitos | Crunchy taquito shell filled with slow-cooked duck and sitting in tomato-árbol chile sauce. Baby arugula tops this dish. The duck was slightly dry, even after dipping it into their amazing chile sauce, if that makes sense. - Chilled Shrimp Ceviche | Refreshing and zesty with avocado for added creaminess. The plantain chips are mildly sweet and crunchy. Stunning dish. - Crispy Carnitas Empanadas | Great use of ingredients (fresh corn masa, house cheese blend, tender carnitas) and the avocado tomatillo salsa adds creaminess and acidity. - Crispy Empanada Poppers | Similar to jalapeño poppers, but in empanada form. I loved the simplicity of ingredients as the flavors are more prominent. - Handmade Corn & Goat Cheese Tamales | Creamy and a little tangy, these tamales were topped with crema and tomatillo salsa which really added more depth to its flavor profile. Really done well (the corn masa was moist too)!THE DRUNK DRINKS (OFF THE HAPPY HOUR MENU). - Spicy Mango Mojito | A sweet and tarty drink, but the serrano syrup kicked my ass. It's best to consume in small sips. These drinks were not off the Happy Hour menu, but we had to try them anyway...- Cocorita | Oddly great. The coconut water, lime juice, agave, and tequila gave it this very refreshing, slightly sweet with acidic undertones. It comes in an actual coconut... a little gimmicky, but sure, why not. - Tamarindo Loco | Made with strawberry pureé. It's got a lot of flavors here... sweet, tangy, sour, and back to sweet. It was a little confusing, but we drank it nevertheless. Pro Tip: Taco Tuesday! Tacos run about $5 each, which seems high, but normal pricing is about $25 for 2 tacos or 3 for $30 (it does come with red rice & refried beans). So, you are paying considerably less. How much less? Well, that's math's problem, not mine."
"We stopped into Karina's in the Gaslamp for a Happy Hour recently and really enjoyed it. The bartender/server was fantastic and the drinks and appetizers were delicious. We tried the Bacon Wrapped Jumbo Shrimp and the Camarones Enchilados for the apps. While the shrimp were our favorite of the two it was a close competition. The cucumber martini was pretty good and the beer was refreshing. Atmosphere inside was festive with great music playing. Next time maybe we will go for a full meal."
"I remember the first time I had Chinese food in this area at Wendell Hom's Teapot Inn. He opened it in 1966 and my brother worked there while he went to college at SDSU. It was dark and I loved the food there.Arizona Chinese Restaurant is bright and full of light. Menu is huge.Bbq pork chow mein was a huge plate of food which was enough for 2 meals. Bbq pork was tender and had a delicious 5 star powder based flavor. Dish had a smoky wok flavor I loved.Pork egg rolls had a thin crunchy layer and a tasty pork filling.2nd visit. I tried the duck won ton soup. Lots of duck, broccoli, and napa cabbage. Duck was tender and had a delicious 5 star powder based flavor. Won tons were small and I liked the flavor from the pork and shrimp mixture. Great tasting dish.3rd visit I tried the fried game hen and the Arizona fried rice. Game hen had a crispy skin and tasty fried flavor. Sadly it was dry. I wouldn't order this dish again. Fried rice had a smoky flavor from the wok and I liked the mix of shrimp, chicken, and bbq pork. Excellent ratio of meat to rice. Very tasty and I had enough rice for 2 meals. So far my favorite dish is the duck won ton soup.Staff was nice and got my order out quick."
"So delicious! Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food and service was excellent. We will be back for more!We went at 7:45 on a weekday and everything was ran so efficiently. Food came out quick! Waitress was super kind! The restaurant has lots of seating. It was cozy and had a home feel to it. It was also very clean."
"First things first. Located inside the National City Public Market. You have to walk inside the market to get to Smitty's. Orders are not taken on the phone. Order directly through their website link. If you are new to soul food or Louisiana rib style, then this eaterie would be good. If you are familiar with at least 5 styles barbecue and da real deal soul food, then the food and money value are not aligned. Actually, my one time may likely be unreturned. I was in a party of two but I should have just ordered one plate with two sides to give the food a taste test. Fifty bucks later, I'm a disappointed eater. I ordered pick up. It is apparent that all the food is pre-cooked and perhaps they have not mastered how to keep its freshness through the heat up process prior to serving.I was 6 minutes away. Hungry like a roaring lion on the African terrain. The inside of the ribs were cold. The other dishes were lukewarm. Although the ribs were tender and flavorful. The mac&cheese was mushy. A sharper cheese is recommended to blend. Or better yet a bechamel sauce and seasoning. Yet, I liked the texture of the pasta. You know how when beans get to the bottom of the pot and get mushy? Yep, that's what I was served. Mushy and dryish. But I can see where they were going and it would have worked out perhaps maybe just not on this visit. And the corn bread was so dry that it crumbled to smithereens. Now, greens are the easiest vegetable to make tasty, but an easy vegetable to make bland. These were on the bland side.I must be clear the meal was not Louisianian style. Being from Louisiana and cooking like a Louisianian are different. I'm just sayin'.Louisiana is known for flavor. And a ten on two. I know intimately what is expected from a Louisianian culinarian. Today was not that day.I want to support. And I will. But not fiscally. I'll get the word out but remember you're on your own. Since there's other eateries in the public market you may have a better cuisine choice.Service was with a smile and friendly."
"I read the reviews and heard good things so I was excited to try it. Didn't realize it wasn't a restaurant well not a sit down restaurant. They sell meats and sides and fresh sourdough. They do a lot of catering and special events. They do have sandwiches and meat box specials. I tried the tri tip and the pulled pork and both were delicious but I found the tri tip a bit salty but duh put it on some sourdough and BAM add some fresh roasted garlic (oh heck yeah) I kept eating. The people were friendly and it's cute inside with some hats for sale and some horns hanging. I'm going to have them cater an event in a few weeks and they were willing to work with me on the menu and make adjustments if I wanted. I'd check em out. It's nice you can order a meat box with a couple sides and essentially try before you go crazy in here."
"During the meal, kept thinking, I'm coming back here when I'm in town again. Even though I had sushi in SF for dinner last night, my buddy convinced me to have sushi in San Diego this evening. Wow. The sushi nigiri was big cuts of fish, topped with fresh wasabi, the Ramen was absolutely benchmarking delicious. (Best I had in 2024!)My friend was similarly impressed by food and service. Yum!"
"First time here, we needed to kill some time. Small little Cafe with lovely air conditioning. They offer a wide variety of drinks, including coffees, teas, Boba, and smoothies. They also have hokkaido soft serve ice cream. We had an iced vanilla latte and chai latte with oat milk. Both were delicious. Staff is friendly. Street parking only."
"Tucked away in a remote corner of a Rolando neighborhood strip mall across from Horace Mann Middle School is where you will find this boba tea shop. The owners of Happytime Tea were doing some internal renovation when I visited with all of the inside chairs and tables pushed off to one side of the room. Electric saws were in action as the outdoor patio was also under construction. It seemed to be a lot of space for a business that focused on beverages, sweet crepes, and an acai bowl. Two menu screens hung from behind the service counter. There were close to 70 different offerings of drinks. What struck me was how affordable the prices were at $4.75 (small) and $5.50 (large) for the milk and flavored teas. The toppings were $0.75 each except for crystal boba which cost $1. I picked the first flavored tea on the list which was Pineapple along with the addition of regular boba pearls. That flavor isn't as common as you would think at a place like this. There was no pulp in the tea, however the pearl quality was very soft which I appreciated. The business hours are not as late as the nearby competition with a closing time of 7 pm (even 5 pm on Saturday and Monday), but they do open early at either 7 or 8 am. That's good for the early birds who may want coffee and not so much for a student who wants to study and hang out at night."
"5 stars for AYCE5 stars for easy parking5 stars for service There were 4 of us that came for an early Saturday dinner. We placed our name on the waitlist table out front and we were called back within 5 mins. We sat at a table near the front door which is next to windows that had the blazing sun coming in and also the cold breeze when the doors opened/closed. The menu was pretty extensive and for $40 AYCE you can get a good amount of food! You can choose KBBQ or hot pot. If you have 2 or more ppl, I recommend someone in your party to get at least 1 of each so you can try each others food There is a salad bar area with meats for hot pot. Sauce area and sides. The employees came around like clockwork. Kudos to this team for coming around often to check on our party. We ordered the one per person meats first (NY, Ribeye, and Short Rib). What we didn't know is how huge there were. There are straight up whole meats from Vons or local grocery store. They were almost as big as your grill. You need to season them well and there wasn't enough salt or pepper on the table. These 3 meats filled you up so suggest ordering the smaller meats first. The cuts were also too thick. The scissors provided were super dull and my fingers were hurting trying to cut the meats. There were no knives so we stuck with our chop sticks and scissors. After the 3 steaks I was pretty full and tired from cooking and cutting my meats. We did try other meats like bulgogi, galbi, pork belly, and others. All the meats started tasting the same after a while so get different sauces. The concept is amazing and the amount of food you get is a great deal. But cooking my own food with dull utensils... pass. Thus the 3 stars...PS - 2 hour limit for dining."
